LOL! YOU DUMB ASSES! THAT AINT NO MOUNTAIN LION LOOKS MORE LIKE A BIG TOM CAT TO ME...EVERTIME IT GETS CLOSER...HE MOVES THE CAMERA AROUND BUT WHEN ITS FAR...HE STEADY THE FOCUS AND MOUNTAIN LION IS A LOT BIGGER THAN THAT..LMAO!
i think i saw a mountain lion last night it was watching horses in a field i guess they will kill a horse there have been several spotted 30 miles from my house
This looks like a house cat to me. A mountain lion would have better ground clearance, due to it longer legs. They are here in Missouri. They have had high quality photos shot of them all over the state. We are seeing them more and more in the Ozarks. Maybe they'll due us a favor and take out some of the damn Ferrel hogs and coyotes. I don't have a problem with the cats, they are beautiful animals, so long as they don't start killing my calves.
i've been seeing these since 2004. Have had several farmers up in smithville watch them drag livestock off. An employee of clay county parks and rec told me just today a conservation agent told him they have been releaseing them in missouri for several years and deny it to escape liability when they kill someone.
its definately a real mountain lion the reason there fatter in missouri is because we have more prey then in the mountains and what not.. we have deer everywhere and we also have cattle... my uncle just caught a pic of one on his trail cam here in maryville missouri and two evenings ago we were out hunting in that same spot and heard it scream...
House cat... What an idiot. You've obviously never seen a cougar/mountain lion OR a house cat. Wow. A 150lb house cat... That would be more impressive than a video of a cougar in Missouri, I'd love to see it.
@1johnnyrockit1 would you settle for a 36 pound calico in a santa hat, if I can figure out a way to take a pic of a pic? LOL! She was a tubby girl rest her soul. I joke about that, but never doubt there are big cats back in NW Missouri and NE Kansas. I have had more than one sighting since I seen the first one in 1985. Only in the most recent months has fish and game finally went on record that they are repopulating the area. When prey goes unchecked, the predators follow. This one is just a cat
@Oreocremerocks ..They are here most definitely.I had one sit on a log and watch me for 15 mins not 40 yds from me this year in deer season.I had a 50 cal muzzle loader trained on it the whole time. And thats the 2nd one ive saw...Ran into 2 conservation agents this summer that was using a tracking device this year and they openly admitted tracking a cat.I think they put them here.
I have to agree. It does look more like a large domestic cat to me as well, but it is bad quality video so it's hard to tell. I saw a mountain lion cross the road 10 feet in front of my car in Shannon county MO in 1998. Thats the day I decided the MDC's rule against carrying a firearm while bowhunting should be revisited.
@dlr1213 uhmm I don't want to start an arguement, but you can't tell depth in this case because there is no way to know what level of zoom was engaged. There are no items of definate size for scale anywhere in the video unless you know the property filmed and can say with a fact the size of the water shown, the height of what might be a fence. Without more info neither you, I, or anyone else can say how big that cat really is. Depth perception can never be applied to a 2D image. That is a fact.
They are all over Mo and conservation dept denies it for years. Myself and a buddy saw one near Lebanon a few years ago and I still get the chills thinking about it. It was crouched down and ready to pounce when we crossed a ridgetop. When it figured out what we were it spun around and headed into a cedar thicket. I've never seen anything move that fast in my life. It was maybe 90 or 100Lbs. My dad has seen 2 of them in Indian Hills in Cuba as well.
They're all over the interior. Two attacks in Michigan last year were undoubtedly cougar attacks, according to the biologist that I spoke to, but of course the dept say they were black bear or dogs.
There arnt lions that are native there, they pass through sometimes though! I live in North California and we have tons of lions here! Their real elusive although they occasionaly kill cows or sheep. I dont let my kids go out in the woods after dawn just because you have to be careful the cats come out at this time!
Where exactly is richmond? I live about 10 miles west of six flags on highway 44. There are pics of a very big cougar outside bourbon missouri. This is probably my favorite "big" cat. Great vid!
looks like marking its territory

Can you put a 5-gallon bucket or something out there where the cat was filmed for a size reference?

that's definitely a cougar or large bobcat...for those of you who say it's a house cat...you obviously have no depth perception...lol
