wish we had a young McBride on our current US squad... someone with some fire and passion... T90 player for sure, never half assed anything on the pitch!
Well McBride is a legend to fans of the USA Men's National Team and he is considered a legendby just about any Fulham FC fan you'll talk to. He was fantastic and definitely one of the most underrated players of the past decade in the EPL. He didn't carry the Fulham team away from relegation during their great escape, but he was a fantastic leader that did all he could for the club. One of my heroes and I think his jersey should be retired for the USA.
Five years later, and I didn't notice that until now. Thanks a lot, lol. That goal was from the 2002 Gold Cup, so 'I think what I meant to do was put the one against Cuba in there instead.
Never knew why he wasn't in some club bigger than Fulham, but the truth is that he is far from living legends like Inzaghi, Forlan, grande Del Piero, and former ones like Van Basten.
@zperic1 Well there are some players who stay committed to a team. McBride happened to be committed to Fulham and played most of his career there. Take Ryan Giggs for an example. He's like what? 37? (Idk. -__-) but he's been playing for Manchester United for his whole career.
@ProFootballer2B got you're point, he deserves to be considered as one of the bet US players and maybe the best Fulham ever had. Maybe he is underestimated because he never played for great teams, and because he couldn't win the trophies by himself for US, but i still do not change my mind about him.
@zperic1 Now to mention Inzaghi, Forlan, and Del Piero. Inzaghi is good but I have not seen him play for AC Milan as of late.
Forlan is awesome and i think he is also underrated. There has not been a year in which he's one a World Player of the Year award. And Alessandro Del Piero is amazing. Nuff said about him. (though Juventus sucks)
@ThatBoyTLong Nah, Inzaghi is at the right place at the right time through all of his career, and he's pressure master as far as the refs are concerned. The number of goals scored in career, in top European clubs and compotetions says well how good is he at his job.
@zperic1 Then how come Neither me nor ThatBoyTLong has seen him play for Milan in a while? Granted. There wouldn't be that much room as Ibra, Pato, Boateng, and Robinho are taking over the attacking force for the Rossoneri. You get what Im saying?
@zperic1 He's 40? Wtf? Why the hell did I think he was a bit younger than that? Eh. Moving on. About Diego Forlan. Like I said. He is underrated on so many levels. Yet I think the only down point in his career is his time with manchester United.
@zperic1 I'm sure he still has a few more years left in him. Like Kasey Keller. (I don't know if you've heard of him because he's american just like me.) but He's like 43. He's gonna retire after this year though.
@ProFootballer2B Hardly, Keller is a goalkeeper, so that means less motion during a match, there are many goalies which played over 40, Oliver Kahn i think, Van der Saar, Dudek and so on, the other guys on the pitch cover over 8 km's per game so their careers are shorter. Or they play at the top level for shorter time.
@zperic1 Yeah. Keller has played for Borussia Monchengladbach, Tottenham, Fulham, Leicester City and a couple other Championship Division teams before moving to Seattle. Look at Jens Lehmann. He looks like he's in his 50's and he got out of retirement to help Arsenal try and win the title. and Arsenal sucks now. They got quality players like Van Persi, Arshavin, Bendtner, and Nasri but they haven't won anything in a while. I think since 2005
That's mostly Wengers credit,he keeps the players in the club until the age of 26-27,some defenders or GK's until 30,and then sells them for buying a few more unknown youngsters. And he has been working like that for years over and over again, and when you constantly sell players when they reach top footballing age you can't make a winning team.He sold Henry,Gallas, before them Cole, he'll sell Fabregas in a few years and he'll never have a winning team.Good team is balance between youth & exp.
@zperic1 How odd do you find it that you're talking to an American about football/soccer? I ask this because a vast majority of American assholes hate it.
@ProFootballer2B I don't find it odd, football just needs a better marketing in the US to be popular. And with so many old stars there such a thing can be done in few years. Maybe there also lacks interest because there are no successes in football and weak competition in qualifications. .But, I'm sure that country with +250 mil ppl can do fine in soccer/football with some money of course because unfortunately money is key factor in todays football and US has a lots of it.
@zperic1 Well Baseball is derived from Cricket and American football is just a rip off of Rugby. But most Americans think American Football is better than Soccer. Sorry I had to say "Soccer." Most of the Americans are just culturally biased towards American Football. Not me. I'll watch it but I still find it boring
@JeffyDahmerJr Hey when I was kid, stores were empty, you could find just a two toys and one bread and maybe one bag of powder milk in miles around and now I need 550 euros per month and I recieve only 450, how do I get those 100, I have no idea, so please don't preach me about not having money.
@zperic1 I was simply saying that the U.S. doesn't have much money to put into the football program. Many Americans believe Football or soccer is boring. So there really isn't a ton of money put into the program.
@JeffyDahmerJr Soccer is slowly but surely growing in this country. We just need stadiums that are SPECIFICLY for soccer and we need to fill up Said stadiums as well. That and possibly some other stuff.
I am so glad I got to see BMB play with my own eyes at Toyota Park in Bedford Park(Chicago), IL. I just recently got into football and went last year when the Fire hosted the Philly Union. McBride had a sick goal in that game. He is a legend who busted his ass every game and will be missed. McBride should coach the USA team. He would get them playing with such a passion and intensity, we'd be unstoppable.
Brian mcbride was one of the greatest to play the game. An excellent role model and didn't dive like Cristiano Ronaldo. When he was down he got up with blood down his face and he would walk off the field looing like it didn't hurt him. Brian McBride. True american talent.
I LOVE this guy! I've been following him, amazed, and in love with him since I was 7. He's my role model and the reson why I still play soccer. I have a poster of him in my room. He's my #1 role model. One day, I hope to meet him. I'll never fight this feeling Brian. :P

@Metalfreak845 says the guy from Norway. He's one of the best to come out of our country, and for what he has done for us, he is a legend. Mind your own business.
@iamthewanganator norway??? i am spanish from valencia La Pobla de Vallbona. if the best to come out of your country is garbage,...... wait WHAT has he done for you? win a game???
@Metalfreak845 you're youtube says your from norway. my bad. are you upset that you lost to us in the confed cup? i dont understand. spain has had a strong league since the early 1930's. USA has had a league since 1996. we're newer to the game than you. give us 80 years of competitive football and then we'll talk. now mind your own business.
@iamthewanganator hha, that was because my favorite band is from norway, i like norway.(Dimmu Borgir) anyway i am just saying that the USA is very overreactive, expecially there god damn annoying commentators, but he wasnt a LEGEND he may be the best american and he may have won a game for the USA but people dont need to overreact. i was pretty annoyed, but after the world cup win i felt fine, cuase they have another chance in 2013.
@Metalfreak845 he is a legend because he is made tremendous inroads into europe, and england. he was the captain for an english club, and helped pave the way for other americans to go abroad. because of this he is a legend IN THE UNITED STATES. im not saying he is a legend by 'european standards' but because of his contributions to help grow the game & get respect from abroad he is highly regarded. I agree, your average American fan doesn't understand the level of the game but were getting bettr
@iamthewanganator yes of course, but like all americans they overreact and think they can win a world cup, this is what sisgusts me. i am not saying he is not the turning point of american football, but he is deffinately not a LEGEND which is what many americans bring to believe
@Metalfreak845 lol, thats where you're wrong. We will win a world cup. You don't have to believe me, but when it happens youll remember this. peace out.
@Metalfreak845 i dont think any american actually believes brian mcbride is a legend in the whole sport that is soccer. that's why the video says a "us soccer legend" because he is a legend FOR the USA.
P.S. We -will- win a world cup. It's simple economics, but I really don't have the time to explain. Thank you, have a nice day.
@iamthewanganator not before i die, thats not going to happen. many americans thought they could win after qualifying for round of 16...ts this american arrogance and pride that makes them overreact
@Metalfreak845 We could have made it to the semi's with better coaching decisions, our striker Charlie Davies and had we not had those little lapses of concentration at the beginning of all our matches. if you're under the age of about 25, you'll see it happen. I'm not being arrogant. I'm not overreacting, it'll happen. Most European leagues have been competing for over 100 years now, the MLS was only created in 1996, and look at what we're doing. Hate to burst your bubble, but we'll get a WC.
@iamthewanganator if they had, well if they had change this and that... THEY DIDNT so they didnt make it dont complain and move on, i am under 25 but they will never make nay shit on the whole world
@iamthewanganator i do know the game better than one of you amerifags, that havent impressed shit in anyone in the whole world of football (or soccer as you amerifags say) theres nothing good about your football
@Metalfreak845 Yep, resort to name calling. Typical. Sorry your feelings are so hurt. I'm willing to be I have more knowledge about the game in my pinky finger than you have in your whole body. Just because you're from Europe means next to nothing. If anything, all it does it blind you, as you've demonstrated here. Thank you, I'll enjoy talking with you when we win a world cup. Probably sometime around 2026. Nice racism too. Have an great day.
@Metalfreak845 Amerifags? Yes, the World Cup. To be fair, Japan is going to win one soon(ish) too. MLS is getting better, I didn't say it's good, so don't warp my words. It's on par with some small European leagues like Sweden, Norway, Greece. You are the one who is arrogant and your blinded by pride. You probably one of those people who don't know anything outside of the European leagues. I could tell you about the Chinese Super league, the K-League, Brazil, Argentina... it goes on. Try me.
@iamthewanganator all of these leagues dont impress me (having lived in Rosenborg for 2 years, but i have seen progress and talent the only thing that hasnt amazed me or have sparked my interest is MLS, K-league as growing teams not quite there yet though
@Metalfreak845 wow you're pretty fucking ignorant. how are the USA fans who "overreact" as you say any worse than say the English fans who always whine and complain about refs fucking them over when in fact their own team sucks and has sucked since 1990?
America has made some really nice progress in soccer. this fantasy world that you and all these other stupid ignorant europeans live in doesn't exist anymore. this isn't 1990 when europe dominated. it's 2011 now bud.
@fluffynoses progress, i have to admit yes, but they arent even close to being legends, english team? i freaking hate them! But they have won something and i would say they are better than the USA..... Oh they tied in the weorld cup!??! asaskajskajjks we are sooo good... no that was a lukcy ass goal, say what you want to say that is my opinion.. Yes you are right the USA has made progress, but they arent close enough for me to call any of the platyers legends, Brian McBride was the best from USA
@Metalfreak845 the last time England won anything was 1966 and that was a bullshit game, if you watch the highlights they robbed Germany of a clear goal. the term "legend" btw is a figurative term. if you go on youtube, you'll find vids of an Egyptian "legend" like Mohammed Zidan or many vids of Yugoslavian players. Why don't you go complain or give your opinion on how they are not legends? Obviously you just have some stupid ass vendetta against America which makes little sense
@fluffynoses Egyptians and Yugoslavians are bad comparesion. Yugoslavian players are very underrated. Dragan Stojkovic was a good player and now he's a good manager, after all he has a monument and a street in Japan. Sinisa Mihajlovic free kick master. Mijatovic, Savicevic, Prosinecki, Binic, at his peak fastest footballer in Europe.
@zperic1 weren't you just ripping on Japan when someone said they were going to win the World Cup and now you're going to say some dude who has a monument in that same country is a legend? wtf you don't make any sense bud. whatever i don't need some guy who probably has never even seen Arlington Heights, Chicago, Illinois's own Brian Motherfucking McBride to say he's not a legend.
look at the way he got back up and played when he was bleeding in the face. that's a boss right there
@fluffynoses when did i say something bad about japan? Second read my posts, nothing bad about McBride.Third, Yugoslavians were underrated, I just named some of them, US is far away from those guys which played for Yugoslavia.McBride is a US legend, but I wouldn't dare to call him a world legend. Dejan Rambo Petkovic also from Yugoslavia is a World Record holder in goals from corners. Mihajlovic world record holder for Free kick goals, and the only man which scored a hat trick from FK's.
@fluffynoses Yugoslavia was not bad mister im so cool, that maybe your opinion but mohamed zidan is a good player, but nobody calls him a legend..... i have nothing against you or any other americans, but they are the only country that scores a goal and calls that person a legend and gets hopes of wining a world cup, yes enlgand was terrible in 66 and i have seen highlights. Just at THIS moment usa has no legends, they will at some point, but not yet, well chap im off to madrid
@Metalfreak845 You're really seem afraid of us. You don't want us to get better at football/soccer/calcio whatevet you want to call it, because you know that once America starts making inroads into any athletics we want to be good at (Olympics, hello?) we'll dominate. Our women's national team is the best in the world, and if our mens game can follow suit, you will be in trouble. Think long term future, 50 years+. Really, you really don't deserve any further response after your Amerifag whine.
@iamthewanganator I am not by any means saying the usa is bad at sports they have many reigning dominations such as baseball, Basketabll, etc but their football abilities havent sparked my attention quite yet it may get better but i dont see the USA in a world cup final even
Sure those leagues don't impress you, but some great players come from those leagues. Like I said, MLS was only formed in 1996. Look at the inroads Japan is making, the J-League mirrors the MLS. Japan has produced some higher quality internationals, but they've only been competing at a high level for a very short span of time. It's a slow process, and maybe your brain can't wrap your head around the concept of measured progress in football. It takes generations, but it's happening.
@iamthewanganator exactly that doesnt mean you can sing victory until we have the PROOF i believe that maybe in like 50 years The Mls could even consider playing against a small european league, right now i would compare MLS to the 3rd german league lower 2nd, Take the Spanish league INSTANTLY they had all of the worlds greatest players, MLS instantly got some American baseball player
Ask any Fulham fan who there favorite player ever was and Brian McBride will come up most of the time cause he scored so many cracking goals for them and even though im a chelsea fan when McBride scored for Fulham or even against us it brought a smile to my face especially when he played that great game agaist united awhile back and i will always love him
The best target man USA has ever had...and one of the best aerial threats that has played the game - not many better headers of the ball in the world.
without a doubt the most skilled us player of all time what he did for us was simply amazing the dedication the beatings from elbows he took the great goals the leadership he put in took us far thank you brian we love you you were great and will go down as the greatest us player of all time
The US can play against English players. We may not have the prior knowledge as the English do, we may not be as good. But we can play to their potential. Like I said, look at the US players making things happen over in Europe, over ALL the English players in Europe. Look at Tim Howard. American keeper, ranked Top 5 in the WORLD. We may not have big names over here in the US like you do in Europe. But we can play to your potential. Our league just doesn't look as good as the Premiership. PissOFF
Okay, the MLS compared to the Premier league is shit. But we're not bad. Look at the USA players in the Premier league right now. Like, Fulham isn't a solid team, and Clint Dempsey is STILL making things happen. Landon Donovan, I GUARANTEE will become a big star in Europe. Brian McBride was one of the best players Fulham had, and don't disagree. Yeah the US choked beating Brazil this summer, but we beat Spain ranked at Number 1 in the world. I'll be interested to see how the US does in the WC.
i think da U.S is gonna beat england in their 1st game, imma Mexico fan but i would love 2 see da U.S beat england, nuthin against england, but i just da world 2 know dat U.S soccer is no longer a joke, i hate 2 say it but they are better than Mexico....
Being English i like what Dodgers4488 said and tbh id like to see US soccer on a bigger platform because you have some great players , being an Everton fan i get to see Landon right now and hes playing amazing for us . I couldnt bring myself and say "ok id like to see you beat us" ;) because thats not right but i hope you have a good world cup
now dat is a real football fan, itz good dat u know what da U.S has, n believe me ive alwayz liked england, but da only way 2 proof dat da U.S can compete vs world class national teams who else than England
Hey mate, Thanks to say that about us, you are one of the rare Mexican that know a lot about soccer and thx to say the truth even Mexico is a good team.
yea Mexico is good, but da U.S just took off 2 another level and i hope they have a good world cup, i mean mah team is Mexico but i know a better team when i see 1....
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
wow AMERICANS are gay...gayass song, wimply wow. UMM NO BETTER HEADER THAN BORGETTI YEA HES #1 and his goalagainst italy is epic... uumm mexicans, we are not cocky we just are not gay like u.. if we ever confront u in WC well kick ur ass.
mute that shit for the USA!

I think since 2005
ProFootballer2B 10 months ago
That's mostly Wengers credit,he keeps the players in the club until the age of 26-27,some defenders or GK's until 30,and then sells them for buying a few more unknown youngsters. And he has been working like that for years over and over again, and when you constantly sell players when they reach top footballing age you can't make a winning team.He sold Henry,Gallas, before them Cole, he'll sell Fabregas in a few years and he'll never have a winning team.Good team is balance between youth & exp.
zperic1 10 months ago
@zperic1 How odd do you find it that you're talking to an American about football/soccer? I ask this because a vast majority of American assholes hate it.
ProFootballer2B 10 months ago
@ProFootballer2B I don't find it odd, football just needs a better marketing in the US to be popular. And with so many old stars there such a thing can be done in few years. Maybe there also lacks interest because there are no successes in football and weak competition in qualifications. .But, I'm sure that country with +250 mil ppl can do fine in soccer/football with some money of course because unfortunately money is key factor in todays football and US has a lots of it.
zperic1 10 months ago
@zperic1 Yeah. Also it has to compete with the "big 3" Baseball, Basketball and American Football. <---lousy sport.
ProFootballer2B 10 months ago
@ProFootballer2B I'm fine with basketball, but the other two, naaaah...
zperic1 10 months ago
@zperic1 Well Baseball is derived from Cricket and American football is just a rip off of Rugby. But most Americans think American Football is better than Soccer. Sorry I had to say "Soccer." Most of the Americans are just culturally biased towards American Football. Not me. I'll watch it but I still find it boring
ProFootballer2B 10 months ago
@zperic1 Did you say that the US has a lot of money? 14 trillion dollars in debt is hardly rich. We have a thing called a recession hitting us buddy.
JeffyDahmerJr 9 months ago
@JeffyDahmerJr Hey when I was kid, stores were empty, you could find just a two toys and one bread and maybe one bag of powder milk in miles around and now I need 550 euros per month and I recieve only 450, how do I get those 100, I have no idea, so please don't preach me about not having money.
zperic1 9 months ago
@zperic1 I was simply saying that the U.S. doesn't have much money to put into the football program. Many Americans believe Football or soccer is boring. So there really isn't a ton of money put into the program.
JeffyDahmerJr 9 months ago
@JeffyDahmerJr Soccer is slowly but surely growing in this country. We just need stadiums that are SPECIFICLY for soccer and we need to fill up Said stadiums as well. That and possibly some other stuff.

fuckooo 1 year ago
I am so glad I got to see BMB play with my own eyes at Toyota Park in Bedford Park(Chicago), IL. I just recently got into football and went last year when the Fire hosted the Philly Union. McBride had a sick goal in that game. He is a legend who busted his ass every game and will be missed. McBride should coach the USA team. He would get them playing with such a passion and intensity, we'd be unstoppable.
Danfrombackhome 1 year ago
Brian mcbride was one of the greatest to play the game. An excellent role model and didn't dive like Cristiano Ronaldo. When he was down he got up with blood down his face and he would walk off the field looing like it didn't hurt him. Brian McBride. True american talent.

@iamthewanganator there has never been a good football player that has come from the USA
Metalfreak845 1 year ago
@Metalfreak845 says the guy from Norway. He's one of the best to come out of our country, and for what he has done for us, he is a legend. Mind your own business.
iamthewanganator 1 year ago
@iamthewanganator norway??? i am spanish from valencia La Pobla de Vallbona. if the best to come out of your country is garbage,...... wait WHAT has he done for you? win a game???
Metalfreak845 1 year ago
@Metalfreak845 you're youtube says your from norway. my bad. are you upset that you lost to us in the confed cup? i dont understand. spain has had a strong league since the early 1930's. USA has had a league since 1996. we're newer to the game than you. give us 80 years of competitive football and then we'll talk. now mind your own business.
iamthewanganator 1 year ago
@iamthewanganator hha, that was because my favorite band is from norway, i like norway.(Dimmu Borgir) anyway i am just saying that the USA is very overreactive, expecially there god damn annoying commentators, but he wasnt a LEGEND he may be the best american and he may have won a game for the USA but people dont need to overreact. i was pretty annoyed, but after the world cup win i felt fine, cuase they have another chance in 2013.
Metalfreak845 1 year ago
@Metalfreak845 he is a legend because he is made tremendous inroads into europe, and england. he was the captain for an english club, and helped pave the way for other americans to go abroad. because of this he is a legend IN THE UNITED STATES. im not saying he is a legend by 'european standards' but because of his contributions to help grow the game & get respect from abroad he is highly regarded. I agree, your average American fan doesn't understand the level of the game but were getting bettr
iamthewanganator 1 year ago
@iamthewanganator yes of course, but like all americans they overreact and think they can win a world cup, this is what sisgusts me. i am not saying he is not the turning point of american football, but he is deffinately not a LEGEND which is what many americans bring to believe
Metalfreak845 1 year ago
This has been flagged as spam show
@Metalfreak845 lol, thats where you're wrong. We will win a world cup. You don't have to believe me, but when it happens youll remember this. peace out.
iamthewanganator 1 year ago
@Metalfreak845 i dont think any american actually believes brian mcbride is a legend in the whole sport that is soccer. that's why the video says a "us soccer legend" because he is a legend FOR the USA.
P.S. We -will- win a world cup. It's simple economics, but I really don't have the time to explain. Thank you, have a nice day.
iamthewanganator 1 year ago
@iamthewanganator not before i die, thats not going to happen. many americans thought they could win after qualifying for round of 16...ts this american arrogance and pride that makes them overreact
Metalfreak845 1 year ago
@Metalfreak845 We could have made it to the semi's with better coaching decisions, our striker Charlie Davies and had we not had those little lapses of concentration at the beginning of all our matches. if you're under the age of about 25, you'll see it happen. I'm not being arrogant. I'm not overreacting, it'll happen. Most European leagues have been competing for over 100 years now, the MLS was only created in 1996, and look at what we're doing. Hate to burst your bubble, but we'll get a WC.
iamthewanganator 1 year ago
@iamthewanganator if they had, well if they had change this and that... THEY DIDNT so they didnt make it dont complain and move on, i am under 25 but they will never make nay shit on the whole world
Metalfreak845 1 year ago
@Metalfreak845 Ya, you're just another idiot who thinks they know the game.
iamthewanganator 1 year ago
@iamthewanganator i do know the game better than one of you amerifags, that havent impressed shit in anyone in the whole world of football (or soccer as you amerifags say) theres nothing good about your football
Metalfreak845 1 year ago
@Metalfreak845 Yep, resort to name calling. Typical. Sorry your feelings are so hurt. I'm willing to be I have more knowledge about the game in my pinky finger than you have in your whole body. Just because you're from Europe means next to nothing. If anything, all it does it blind you, as you've demonstrated here. Thank you, I'll enjoy talking with you when we win a world cup. Probably sometime around 2026. Nice racism too. Have an great day.
iamthewanganator 1 year ago
@iamthewanganator racism?, i have more knowledge than you do, hahaha world cup, MLS being good, wtf are you talking bout
Metalfreak845 1 year ago
@Metalfreak845 Amerifags? Yes, the World Cup. To be fair, Japan is going to win one soon(ish) too. MLS is getting better, I didn't say it's good, so don't warp my words. It's on par with some small European leagues like Sweden, Norway, Greece. You are the one who is arrogant and your blinded by pride. You probably one of those people who don't know anything outside of the European leagues. I could tell you about the Chinese Super league, the K-League, Brazil, Argentina... it goes on. Try me.
iamthewanganator 1 year ago
@iamthewanganator all of these leagues dont impress me (having lived in Rosenborg for 2 years, but i have seen progress and talent the only thing that hasnt amazed me or have sparked my interest is MLS, K-league as growing teams not quite there yet though
Metalfreak845 1 year ago
@Metalfreak845 wow you're pretty fucking ignorant. how are the USA fans who "overreact" as you say any worse than say the English fans who always whine and complain about refs fucking them over when in fact their own team sucks and has sucked since 1990?
America has made some really nice progress in soccer. this fantasy world that you and all these other stupid ignorant europeans live in doesn't exist anymore. this isn't 1990 when europe dominated. it's 2011 now bud.
fluffynoses 10 months ago
@fluffynoses progress, i have to admit yes, but they arent even close to being legends, english team? i freaking hate them! But they have won something and i would say they are better than the USA..... Oh they tied in the weorld cup!??! asaskajskajjks we are sooo good... no that was a lukcy ass goal, say what you want to say that is my opinion.. Yes you are right the USA has made progress, but they arent close enough for me to call any of the platyers legends, Brian McBride was the best from USA
Metalfreak845 10 months ago
@Metalfreak845 the last time England won anything was 1966 and that was a bullshit game, if you watch the highlights they robbed Germany of a clear goal. the term "legend" btw is a figurative term. if you go on youtube, you'll find vids of an Egyptian "legend" like Mohammed Zidan or many vids of Yugoslavian players. Why don't you go complain or give your opinion on how they are not legends? Obviously you just have some stupid ass vendetta against America which makes little sense
fluffynoses 10 months ago
@fluffynoses Egyptians and Yugoslavians are bad comparesion. Yugoslavian players are very underrated. Dragan Stojkovic was a good player and now he's a good manager, after all he has a monument and a street in Japan. Sinisa Mihajlovic free kick master. Mijatovic, Savicevic, Prosinecki, Binic, at his peak fastest footballer in Europe.
zperic1 10 months ago
@zperic1 weren't you just ripping on Japan when someone said they were going to win the World Cup and now you're going to say some dude who has a monument in that same country is a legend? wtf you don't make any sense bud. whatever i don't need some guy who probably has never even seen Arlington Heights, Chicago, Illinois's own Brian Motherfucking McBride to say he's not a legend.
look at the way he got back up and played when he was bleeding in the face. that's a boss right there
fluffynoses 10 months ago
@fluffynoses when did i say something bad about japan? Second read my posts, nothing bad about McBride.Third, Yugoslavians were underrated, I just named some of them, US is far away from those guys which played for Yugoslavia.McBride is a US legend, but I wouldn't dare to call him a world legend. Dejan Rambo Petkovic also from Yugoslavia is a World Record holder in goals from corners. Mihajlovic world record holder for Free kick goals, and the only man which scored a hat trick from FK's.
zperic1 10 months ago
@fluffynoses Yugoslavia was not bad mister im so cool, that maybe your opinion but mohamed zidan is a good player, but nobody calls him a legend..... i have nothing against you or any other americans, but they are the only country that scores a goal and calls that person a legend and gets hopes of wining a world cup, yes enlgand was terrible in 66 and i have seen highlights. Just at THIS moment usa has no legends, they will at some point, but not yet, well chap im off to madrid
Metalfreak845 10 months ago
@Metalfreak845 You're really seem afraid of us. You don't want us to get better at football/soccer/calcio whatevet you want to call it, because you know that once America starts making inroads into any athletics we want to be good at (Olympics, hello?) we'll dominate. Our women's national team is the best in the world, and if our mens game can follow suit, you will be in trouble. Think long term future, 50 years+. Really, you really don't deserve any further response after your Amerifag whine.
iamthewanganator 1 year ago
@iamthewanganator I am not by any means saying the usa is bad at sports they have many reigning dominations such as baseball, Basketabll, etc but their football abilities havent sparked my attention quite yet it may get better but i dont see the USA in a world cup final even
Metalfreak845 1 year ago
Sure those leagues don't impress you, but some great players come from those leagues. Like I said, MLS was only formed in 1996. Look at the inroads Japan is making, the J-League mirrors the MLS. Japan has produced some higher quality internationals, but they've only been competing at a high level for a very short span of time. It's a slow process, and maybe your brain can't wrap your head around the concept of measured progress in football. It takes generations, but it's happening.
iamthewanganator 1 year ago 11
@iamthewanganator exactly that doesnt mean you can sing victory until we have the PROOF i believe that maybe in like 50 years The Mls could even consider playing against a small european league, right now i would compare MLS to the 3rd german league lower 2nd, Take the Spanish league INSTANTLY they had all of the worlds greatest players, MLS instantly got some American baseball player
Metalfreak845 1 year ago
@iamthewanganator could not had said it any better

The US can play against English players. We may not have the prior knowledge as the English do, we may not be as good. But we can play to their potential. Like I said, look at the US players making things happen over in Europe, over ALL the English players in Europe. Look at Tim Howard. American keeper, ranked Top 5 in the WORLD. We may not have big names over here in the US like you do in Europe. But we can play to your potential. Our league just doesn't look as good as the Premiership. PissOFF
Jamesizop 1 year ago
Okay, the MLS compared to the Premier league is shit. But we're not bad. Look at the USA players in the Premier league right now. Like, Fulham isn't a solid team, and Clint Dempsey is STILL making things happen. Landon Donovan, I GUARANTEE will become a big star in Europe. Brian McBride was one of the best players Fulham had, and don't disagree. Yeah the US choked beating Brazil this summer, but we beat Spain ranked at Number 1 in the world. I'll be interested to see how the US does in the WC.
