@SoFlaSpearo improvise with cheap elastic bands bundled together into groups and linked with a cat's paw knot to increase the length. Slip a piece of hollow fabric (like a tiny sleeve) over the elastic chain before attaching to the cylinder and center it to protect the rubber. Use a rugged material like cotton duck. You aim by looking through the tube at maximum extension. Put a barb at the end of the harpoon. It works on land as well as in water.
hey imade one of those but really modified, you should check out the vid, its cool and i can use it underwater, once i get more materials, i will make a better one
Did he say red Snapper? yea that would be highly illegal. Hawaiian Slings are not allowed in the Gulf of Mexico. You have to use somthing that requires skill like a pole spear.
steal a shoppimg cart. from a grocery store the long part is chromed, won't rust. at the tip, drill a 1/8th inch hole. take a peice of a vegetable can, wrap that small piece of can to fashion a barb at the tip of the "spear". put a nail through the barb and the 1/8th inch hole to finish the barb. Neead some string at your end of the spear to draw in your catch.

@SoFlaSpearo look at smaller hardware stores. Ace has them. Bait and ammo stores usually will have replacement bands for sling shots/wrist-rockets.

Its called slick rod. You can get at any fab shop. Some people call it cold roll. Hope this helps.

@Fshmstr I've been a machinist for over 20 years. This is the first time I've ever heard the term "slick rod", Must be a regional thing.
