trebuchets work through counterweight, not torsion. This is just a generic "catapult".

trebuchets are powered by counterweight... not a trebuchet... still nice though... i always give up before i can get those things working

every time i try to build something like that the chain connected to the ball slows it down too much

Its all about the length of the arm that swings the chain, to long will be too slow and too short wont give enough swing.
