the car sounds and looks sweet. congrats :) check the valve seals I see blue smoke...there should only be pufs of grey when under throttle,..it's ok to burn fuel, not oil. :)

@coltsfan21189398 there are truck blocks,.. there are race blocks,.. and there are factory blocks. they NOW have 454 chevy and 460 ford small blocks.. they had 400 small block chevys in the 70's. de stroke a 400 small block and you might have a 383,..however that will not, nor will it ever, change the size of the BLOCK's MOLD CASTING, which is a SMALL BLOCK if it's not a 396. Show me the FACTORY SERIAL numbers on the BLOCK, of your big block 366.. what are the #'s?

thought you were talking chevy, but most of them werent big blocks, like pontiac, so if the 350 buick is a big block then what is the 455? the buick 350 was considered a small block, pontiac was considered a medium size block.

no such thing as a 350 big block. They make a 396 big block. need to do some research. Its a small block ranging fron 265 Cubic inch to 400 cubic inch

@lilc601 the first chevy "big block" was a 358 cubic inch displacement, and it has since grown all the way to 572 inches.  The big difference between the original and the newer ones is the cylinder head design, but the actual "big block" is almost identical.

@lilc601 There was a big block Chevrolet that came as a 5.7 litre, but it was a 348. They were called W series motors, 348, 402, 409, and some 427's. They were only around from 58-65, then the SBC took over, the one you're talking about from 265-400ci.

@Zedtwenty8 actually zedtwenty is right, i just put a big block 283 chevy in my camaro but i bored and honed it .60 over and stroked it so now it puts out at least im saying 302 cubic inch displacement. i also bought a magna charger and 8 4 barrel quadrajets ima throw on there too.....
