  • Gosh, again from my childhood/ Yeah, Doris' great, but this is mine!

  • i don't agree at all¡¡¡¡¡ the best is Doris Day's always¡¡¡¡

    calamityjane1988may

  • Around THE DAYS when I was an audience at her live, Mary agreed to be released upon Toshiba Musical Industry, today called EMI Music Japan, I've heard. correct?

  • such a beautiful angel with such a wonderful voice!

  • @meme93906 would you eat her hairy snatch?

  • @Topshelftom1 would you?

  • The song was produced and "arranged" (i.e. partly rewritten) by Paul McCartney (sheet music was published with this arrangement and adorned with Mary's image). The acoustic guitar and bass are both played by Paul, and Ringo is on drums! I tend to believe the lead guitar is George Harrison as it sounds like him (rather than Paul as many allege). Soooo it's essentially a lost Beatle recording but with lead vocal by Mary Hopkin... Got to #7 on the Adult Contemporary as the Pop-Rock that it is.

  • @Tarcy195 Interesting ... I think you're right about the lead guitar...!

  • Who was the bass player?

  • that's Harrison's guitar running through the Hammond Organ.

  • Very similar in feel to McCartney's "Another Day" from the same time period.

  • Best version I've heard so far.

  • I prefer Doris Day version :)

  • What a beautiful song!

The first time I heard it it was on the radio :)

  • lovely video and nice memories

    thanks so much

  • anyone got a live performance of this tune, this is what we need thanks

  • Lovely :)

  • beautiful! mary hopkin has such a sweet and beautiful voice.

  • MDR vive la vidéo vive les grosses fleurs ! La belle époque quoi ^^

  • Sure sounds like 1970 Paul McCartney production.

  • LA versión castellana de esta canción es de Connie Francis. La de José Feliciano es una versión de "Those were be the days"

  • @drpachon

no mi amigo, la de Josè Feliciano es la version de Che sarà sarà, una cancion italiana del festival de la canciòn italiana de sanremo cantada por Josè Feliciano y por "I ricchi e poveri". me parece en el 1970.

  • and I love her and yes Ive seen a face..her name is mary Hopkin

  • Greatest version of this song i have ever seen!

  • Written by Jay Livingston & Ray Evans for the Hitchoch'movie " The Man Who Knew Too Much " 1956 with James Stewart, Doris Day & Daniel Gélin.

  • In Nederland zeggen we:

    KEES MAAR RAAK, EN VAAK

  • This is such a world famous song which in Vietnamese it is translated as

    "Biết ra sao ngày sau"

A timeless tune for the world to enjoy.

  • alguien sabe quien canto la version en español

  • Connie Francis

  • jose feliciano

  • Actually, "Whatever Will Be, Will Be" must to be translated to the spanish as: "Lo Que Será, Será".

I guess the song writer omitted the word "Lo" to match the music.

  • No it's Italian and therefore correctly translated.

  • yes u'r right he did .

  • anyone hear jamie redfern sing over the rainbow ??

  • Could anyone tell me what "Que sera sera" means? It seems like French, doesn't it? Thank so much.

  • er! whatever will be will be !!!

  • Thank you so much for the answer, really like "Que sera sera" :) .

  • it's not french it's spanish and it means what will be will be and I usually say Qui vivra verra which is French and it means the one who will live on will see what is gonna happen!

  • Thank you so much for the answer, really interesting! "Qui vivra verra", i agree :) .

  • I like the riffs by paul.Good guitar player.

  • She is so beautiful!!!!

    What a lovely lady!

With an even more beautiful voice!!!

  • Love this version, discovering just what a great artist Mary Hopkin was

  • Wow, this is so different from Doris's version, very 60's hippy like.

    Thankyou for sharing! :)

  • Those were the (Doris Day's)my friend......

  • I love Mary Hopkin. This is cute and sweet. Its not Doris Day though is it?

  • No, this is Marys version :)

  • Yes Salt&Pepper and a very original version it is as well. But Doris Day owns her signature song. Her voice suits this song so well. Doris Day sings Over The Rainbow wonderfully yet its somehow slightly wrong despite its vocal perfection. Judy Garland owns that. Sometimes perfection isn't good enough.

  • Very similar in production and feel to Paul's "Another Day".

  • So the acoustic guitar is probably either Mary herself, Paul, or both.

  • The bass is 100% McCartney.

This is the BEST version of said song.

  • Yes and Ringo played the drums

  • as is the song 'Field of St. Etienne'.

Is this song standing for mother's big love for her children?

Pictures here are maybe all sceneries in Japan.

  • Was played on WIP in Philadelphia. Thanks for posting it!

  • Thanks for this song of Mary'S.

I bought Mary's Those were the days at Shinseido Diskstore in Ikspiari, the mall next to the Tokyo Disneyland (seen in this!) gate. CD code is TOCP-8307.

Cerebrating Mary's Birthday, I hear almost whole days Mary's sweet and lovely voices last weekend and I found the back electric guitar maybe ca100% by Paul is just too simplest!, that Mary never be satisfied!! How do you think, Pat?

  • Lovely thanks very much

  • Great!!! THX!
