thats untrue, in fact the isreal army (I KNO WTF) is techincally the most disciplined most trained army in the world to date (This is infact noted on Discovery Channel as true) and is a widely accepted fact, they also are now producing the most advanced weoponry to date (go check some out) and russia comes second in all fact, but its work is more policed now (there top gaurds of the russian minsitry) are the most trained soldiers tho that ive ever seen but there arnt many of them so nm them

0:06 was a SR-2M Veresk it was designed especially to penetrate body armor. It uses the 9x21 SP-10 armor piercing steel core rounds whitch can penetrate 30 kevlar vests at 150m.

unless you are accelerating a depleted uranium round at 3000 ft per second, the idea that a pistol round such as the 9x21 getting through armor is bull shit, let alone through even 3 kevlar vests, and dragon skin would be untouched at the muzzle, it would be like hitting it with airsoft pellets.

well ill put it this way, the army adopted the m16 as their standard assault weapon versus a m14 or m14 varient with a smaller caliber round, and it was obvious fromt he beginning that the direct impengment system was a failure in combat unless they had advanced coatings and platings on the parts. Welcome to the world of contracts, they have videos of them trying to put 7.62 nato sabot rounds through the vest, and those travel at 4000 ft per second and are designed to shred armor.

I was not aware that they tested it against the 7.62 NATO round. Any way it is unknown at this point how reliable those test were. The Army, Air Force and some law enforcement agencys claim that the vest cant stop 7.62 rounds and it is a well known fact that the clay used for the scales tends to melt at high temperatures making the vest useless. Also the vest got rather negative feed back from the troops that were field testing it.

Also the cost is far to high and the manufacturing takes to long to equip every soldier with it. And Pinnacle armor has a history of trying to pass inferior armor as level 3 protection. The Russians had a similar vest since the 80s only that they used titanium alloys for the scales, but their vest was never accepted into sevice either witch leads me to believe that there is some major problem with this design in general that we dont know about.

I think it is very likely that the army is classifying this data so they will not have to spend more money on better body armor, their previous purchases of armor were already incredibly generous considering the infantry is the branch where the pennies are pinched.

Remember the problems with armor and M16's in Vietnam? penny pinching at its finest.

On the other hand Dragon skin is a whole lot more expencive then the Interceptor and most US casualties come from IEDs and other explosives from whitch no body armor can protect you, and considering the crysis the US economy is in i doubt approving Dragon skin as standard issue armor whould be a good idea. There are also other problems like the weight, complexity and production speed.
