I understand it more. It's an actor's job. A guy who's lived through the horror of Vietnam has not spent his life preparing his mind for it. He's some punk. Most guys were borderline criminal or poor, and that's why they got sent to Vietnam.
@rrtodd95 It was all the poor, wretched kids who got beat up by their dads, guys who didn't get on the football team, couldn't finagle a scholarship. They didn't have the emotional equipment to handle that experience. But this is what an actor trains to do. I can more effectively represent that kid in Vietnam than a guy who was there.
Then he denied he said it, but Esquire recorded the interview and he just stopped talking about it.
@pupyup12 He may have a great singing voice, a talent for piano, and an eye for lyrics, but he chose a nauseatingly generic vanilla musical backdrop for his songs.
These two beautiful marvels of a human being are of the same soul and it is spectacular to see them back and forthing with one another in their own unique and strange way. Add their peculiar sense of himor to the mix and you have a recipe for divinity.
@Rebelscreamer haha peace i meant that i looove him as an actor which has nothing to do with his attractiveness, i just pointed out that he had physically changed a lot within only a few years
I've watched this conversation several times. I always recommend it to my students in Japan. No doubt they scream when RDJ puts his foot (with shoe on!!!!) on Val's leg.
Robert's record is very personal and sometimes, when you listen to it at the most suitable moment, it just hits you and unravels like a book. I love it. I'm so grateful he did it.
On an interview: these two are probably the smartest, most upfront guys in hollywood.
His album is amazing. But I don't think it is really...famous sort of. I've loved RDJ for quite some time and I didn't find out that he had made an album untill....very recentely. Like a month ago or something. Cause I live in a Norway, which is a safe cut off country. Blah. I can't even find Less Than Zero on DVD ANYWHERE. I swear to God.
ANYWAY. His album is very sort of...90's though. I dunno why I think that, I just do. I love the 90's though so rock on Robert! I love the album.
Yes I agree it is very 90s, but hey I'm a product of the 90s so I love it! And 90s rock songs are some of the greatest imo.
I'm sorry dude, that really stinks, do you know anyone in America who could order them for you? Did you try ebay or amazon? Perhaps they'll have something.
I know! The 90's kicked fuckin ass man! But it's just like, when his album was released in the mid 2000's the 90's were kind of dead and Hip-hop and RnB was the only thing that mattered. It seemed anyway. So it might not have been well recieved, but that doesn't make it less of an kickass album!
I can order it online, it's just I love to go shopping and end up with no money left when I actually sit down to order shit. xD That's my own fault though so xD
haha :) who doesn't! I haven't been shopping in the longest time, I think I'm feeling a bit of withdrawal.
That's exactly what I think it was, RDJ was relatively unknown to teenagers at that time. I mean I was the only teen I knew who was familiar with RDJ at that time. Also if its not hip hop and rap the majority of teens don't care.
indeed, lol no I used to speculate about that, its just the way teens are sometimes. They don't really care that much about music, they just want to go out and dance. Not that there's anything wrong with that, just dancing to music instead of listening to it, but that's the way it is. i was kinda a band geek in school lol so I was into all sorts of music.
Yeah, I know. They don't ever really listen to music. It's okay though. I don't mind. It's up to each and every one to decide for themselves. I love music. Couldn't live without it. And I love discovering new music as well as old music and just getting my hands on everything and anything. Which ends up with me being broke most of the time, but hey xD I'm still a kid and I still live at home so it's cool.
yep I went through that stage, I ended up over drawing my account about 250 dollars! But I've gotten it under control, I only buy music on itunes if I cant down load it and a movie every once in awhile if I have the cash. I also don't have a job right now, the economy is in the shts so I'm basically living off of Christmas cash :/
Oh that sucks. :( Luckily for me I can't over draw my account, some special shit where dad manages the whole thing so yeah. I don't get it, cause I'm dumb, but still.
lol ew that stinks, that's one reason why I made mine separate from my parents. but it is good to have your parents show you how to do things before they just let you overdraw 250 dollars out of your account.
aw, well, it's not for lack of voice, because he has a really nice one! i guess no one took it seriously, because you know the history of all those actors trying to branch out and sing and then put out bad music... but RDJ *CAN* sing, idk. his songs for me, tho, are too... idk, depressing :\ if they were cheerful tho, and more like interpreting some of my fav songs, it would be diff :\
THE best interview on YouTube. These guys are hilarious. I'm glad you posted this, because after watching Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, I wanted MORE of these two together. I hope they make another fun movie together down the road.
yea, i think val or "valerie" was really goodhearted and compassionate with RDJ. that was kool because downey can kind get kind of...well, contemptuous.but ya, their personalities seem to mesh well together, sort of captain planet like "our powers combined..." haha. ok this comment is now officially over.
You know, Robert is very hard to really know and live with, I guess. He looks like he is easy going, and he is, but he will always surprise you with something you do or don´t like. He´s changig like a weather, and when he´s angry, he could be bitter and a real pain in the ass. But he´s also lovable, wise and entertaining and that´s what balances his character.

Oh jeez, lol, nevermind. I still love both. Everyone has flaws, if I were looking for perfection I guess I would like no one. We're both taking this too seriously. I'm only going to delete my comments so the rest of the world won't see our silliness. What does this argument matter? haha. Anyway, peace, even though we differ on opinion. :)
Good god it's like you're purposely going to whatever videos these two might be in. No, I didn't check, but the mere fact that you were complaining in the first part, and then you come to the second part to complain makes little sense.
