Abraham is also called the friend of God because he believed. Jesus Christ is the Word of God who became flesh and lived amongst us and died for the sins of mankind and was risen By the Father on the third day.He calls us his friends if we do the will of Yahweh(God) his Father. Just as Abraham did.

Melchisedeq,is no angel for why would Abraham tithe to an angel? How could one tithe to him before they were born? I believe he was Christ...too many facts point to it . No one really knows for certain though.

I don't think he was an angel. Although angels in the Bible always appear as men (never do they have wings!) I don't think this was the case with Melchisedec. Angel's as High Priests just doesn't make much sense for lots of theological reasons. Nevertheless, it is true that he is very intriguing.

Many have also ventured to guess that he was Yahweh (based on recent finds in the Book of Deuteronomy) who was the Son of the Most High God. It's a very good theory! Bread & wine indeed as well as Abraham giving a tenth of the spoils all before the Levitical priesthood was established. I relate it to John 8 Jesus says Abraham saw my day & was glad 8:58 before Abraham was I AM
