This joins the Ginette Neveu as my absolute favorite recording of this sublime piece; the young Menuhin was music personified. I also like the various Oistrakh and Francescatti recordings, but Neveu and Meuhin are transcendental.
@freddyboy25 You're welcome :). Indeed, this is a great recording. Listen to Ginette Neveu as well for this piece. Menuhin and Neveu are the best for it
hey, you're welcome and i'm agree with you about Menuhin right hand and later, the left hand i think...
Your father? was violonist? me too :-)
I began to learn this piece a few years ago and even if i have new programs and others pieces, i love too much Chausson Poeme and sometimes, instead of working scales, i play the Poeme for my pleasure lol :-)
You misinterpret my comment. Menuhin is my god of the instrument. But as a devout student of his genius, I hear that the uninhibited joy and fearlessness that he brought to playing is beginning to "have doubts" here. I, like you, still marvel at his artistry. Sorry to have offended you.

My God-- so many thanks for this Petrof4056
All of Enesco's students learned this-- including my father, Ginette Neveu, and Henryk Szering in the 1930's.
Menuhin's humanity, the emotion, the warmth and the sensitivity all come through.
But, unfortunately, the signs of his control issues, especially the right hand, are already creeping in. THAT is the tragedy of this.

@ipmoic I very humbly doubt that if Menuhin had some 'control issues with his hands' you have any hands at all, in comparisson..
