  • il Largo è qualcosa che riguarda il Paradiso più che la Terra.

Largo is something concerning Heaven more than Earth.

  • A Genius playing another Genius ..... My favourite composer , my favourite pianist , my favourite concerto . Another splandid performance is by Bashkirov

  • HAPPY BIRTHDAY GLENN GOULD

  • Gould's Family Background was Hungarian, he is a full Canadian and was proud of it.

  • OMG! Bach + Gould + Piano = inexpressible! :-0

  • Especially his rendering of the second movement is beautiful.

  • that ornament at 00:48 could kills me..

  • This is exactly why I refuse to believe those who say that pure or good music is dead. It never dies, it goes through generations and keeps killing people by its sheer beauty.

  • @scopitoneful Absolutely all right

  • @scopitoneful One can always choose between beauty and crap... it's a matter of taste...

  • The moment the Piano (or Harpsichord) starts playing always makes me excited. What a astounding melody!

  • This performance still thrills me ever as much as it did when I first heard it some twenty years ago. The energy, vitality, drive of the thing -- yet remaining supremely graceful all the while -- is simply captivating. How Gould brings this music to LIFE! Marvelous!

  • I wonder which composer we have today that will be spoken highly of 400 years into the future.

  • @EmceeLorder well,as you and me know already : not too many :(

  • Superb music. I prefer harpischord interpretations but Bach is fabulous and sounds modern no matter how you shape it.

  • BACH SE SIENTE EN LA CABEZA Y LUEGO EN EL CORAZÓN Y LO ACABA LLENANDO TODO, ESTÁ TAN CERCA DE DIOS.

  • super

  • pre dobro

  • super

  • i like it........ its so beautiful...

  • This picture is the exact expression I have when I hear this piece. In awe of Bach's genius and Gould's beautiful playing.

  • This conrto portends so many later composers. I can Mozart and Chopin in this, and a bit of Beethoven.

  • I love The Largo.

  • grandiose. Glenn Gould interprète Bach à la perfection.

  • a genius at work!

    he died so early.

however, he showed us, how Bach it meant on paper.

all the recordings of Glen Gould is a giga legacy to the world.

  • Une pure merveille, thank's Bach.....

  • Bach,,,,,The best classic.....

  • Just so everybody gets the right information, Bach wrote for Cembalo, NOT piano...thats why it is so hard and almost impossible to get the write tone that bach wanted, on piano...Lot of people are not well informed, i do not know why....

  • The best piano player plays the best piece of the best composer! Just great!

  • makes me proud to be canadian

  • Well, certainly his nationality didn't interfere with his genious.

  • @chobrocoli haha, i agree with you. Unfortunately you see that kind of comments on Youtube. The other day i had an argument with someone who wrote : i'm proud to be Hungarian (for Liszt).

  • @chobrocoli

I totally agress with u!I luv his playing...a lot..

  • @chobrocoli what do you mean, mr commenting 9 months ago, hes Canadian , Canada is fucking greatest country to live in, theres so many peoeple smoking weed its practicly legal

  • @chobrocoli I wasn't aware a Canadian nationality was a drawback. If anything, I think it's a advantage.

  • @chobrocoli 10 non-Canadian people are being pricks, willingly or unwillingly. ;)

Well, he's obviously not Russian if that's what you mean. :s

  • Une merveille entre 03:38 et 06:33...

  • I love Glenn Gould

Eternamente agradecido

  • Hermosoo!!!

  • In my view, Bach's best harpsichord concerto played by the finest exponent of Bach's music. Thank you :-)

  • It's not a harpsichord concerto.

  • I think you'll find it is.

  • Actually, you'll find that Bach uses the term Cembalo, which, in his time was a loosely used generic term and could mean one of several stringed keyboard instruments. Being that the harpsichord was the choice keyboard for chamber music in Bach's time, it IS very likely that the concerti were intended to be played on the harpsichord, however were not relegated to it specifically.

  • @KennYWooD2 Handel also used the Cembalo sometimes, although he was partial to it. He used it in his oratorio Joshua for example. But you don't hear of the instrument much.

  • yaaaaaaa
