  • Horrible video. Absolutely useless in every way imaginable.

  • but HOW DO YOU GET THE SOLDER OUT OF THAT LITTLE VACCUM THINGY

  • So in a 3 minute video you talk about the pump and its internal components for about 2:44 minutes and devote only a couple of seconds to actual desoldering. Let a side we can't see a thing since the video is low res and you didn't even bother to zoom in.

How to De-solder Electronic Connections? I don't think so.

  • have you tryed to heat up a soldering iron and see how far you can put it in your ear. Excellant if you have a lot of ear wax.

  • Thanks for the info - forget the dicks with the idiot comments. Cheers John

  • although I'm Dutch, I agree with the Americans.

thanks to those guys you Brits (as well as the rest of Europe) don't speak German.

now, go and get your history together, you should be thankful!

  • okay--the snappy thingy takes the molten solder away----cool!

  • ExpertVillage should get their YouTube channel removed. This is ridiculous.

  • Guys come on his is giving instructions to novice people!

Everyone is not 1337, like you.

  • Dont touch the hot lava!

  • lol @ 0:59 . "The lava" then disappointed by himself, "the lava ?? the solder, molten"

  • @anotherguyinthehood, Amen to that!!!

  • Notice he wasn't wearing safety glasses when he said you should lol

  • Oh! What an adventure! Instead of going to Kenya this weekend, I will be doing some de-soldering. LOL

  • @cumesoftware LOLOL

  • lol there are some seriously butthurt limeys around here

  • You all are wrong It's pronounced sawwld-ddeeeeer

  • I've noticed a trait that Brits... no, just about every country that ISN'T America has, is to get on the internet and bitch about Americans. Protip: You guys are pathetic. We don't give a golden fuck. Bitch more, we are still better than you at everything in every way, and your constant whining proves it. Thanks.

  • Yea you guys are really better in everything even at being a Fucking fat retard.

  • Is that all you Brits do? Get on Youtube and criticise Americans? You are just mad because the underdogs won the war. Post a soldering comment or go get a life.

  • Alrighty Mr. Cheese. Will do. Just remember your roots.

  • gadz...die

  • desoldering braid is cleaner, and you can use it with double side pcbs

  • LOL yea.. that "snap" did look dangerous. Better put some goggles on.

  • haha jerk!

  • question: how can i desolder without the vacuum pump?

  • easy, just use a soldering iron, and heat up the solder. but wear safety goggles.

  • I rarely fix electronics but I can do all that work, thanks. What WE want to know is how to diagnose a very small circut board in hopes of finding the bad/blown curcuit and how to go to the electronic store without any help to locate it because the jerks there are starting to refuse help unless you know the name of the curcuit. Therefore talk about resistors, capacitors, metalized film capacitors, rectifiers, transistors, diodes, other types of capcitors. How does the multimeter help diagnos?

  • quite helpful. ive read a lot on the physics of electricity and circuits and have collected a lot of pcb's and other components from electronics but i dont own a soldering gun or even a breadboard of my own so today i am going to radioshack to pick up a cheap soldering gun and a cheap breadboard and perhaps either a solder pump or desoldering braid. the technician at my internship also showed me a little on how to desolder.

  • Expect to pay $14 for a good iron. As I said 25 to 40 watts is a good choice. Low watt will not do heavy stuff and the higher watt is indeed hotter and you can toast electronics more easily if not careful. However with skill and good technique the higher wattage can be actually faster and cooler for the wire and component overall.

Cheap irons have tips that don't last.

60/40 solder, usually 0.030 is a good general size. There are lead and tin variations. Look it up.

  • solder pornouced Sod-Der.

Typically 15-60 watt range, 25-40W serves well. You set Pro regulated solder stations by Temp (about 650W for experienced tecs). Working on bigger wires (14-16awg) higher wattage will keep things cooler! By heating the joint quickly to melt the solder before heat spreads. 15W on boards is OK, but you have to slow down to let the iron heat back up. Google this:

  • How come in the comments on every soldering vid I have seen, there is this bullshit argument over the correct way to say solder? It's so annoying, can we not just agree that Brits and Americans say it differently?

  • Yea its called an accent! im from UK

  • I was reffering to the solder/sodder thing you idiot, I'm from UK too

  • solder and desolder

  • It is pronounced sawder..

  • if your American.....if your English then you pronounce it how its spelt "soul-der"

  • Grammar Fail. It's YOU'RE American, YOU'RE English. I am so sick of seeing this -- it's just incorrect. He is pronouncing it correctly by the way -- and yes, I'm American.

  • It's sol-der, you American cunt.

  • Yeah, bloody Americans need to piss off with their heavy rhoticity!

  • I say "sawder" and so does everyone else I know. U-S-A! U-S-A!

  • Does he not know how to say solder

  • LOL... There you go. I suppose your independent and special too... You forgot the, "I just wanna tell ya...". Toss pot.
