@bassmanpatz Hey !! It is a dream to play. Also, the thing with posting youtube clips is that while my clips sound great on my home computer mac, I was just listening to them on my laptop and the sound is awful. I encourage everyone to play these clips via a computer with good speakers, as it makes a world of difference in the sound quality. Rock !
@theporcuspine it varies with the USA dollar. But a great Australian bass website is: The Bass Centre in Melbourne. They have basically all fender bass-prices on their website. Check em out, they rock!
Hey guys, I have a question. I'm a guitarist who's got together with my friend who plays bass to start playin jazz. We were going to do a version of fly me to the moon, with the guitars playing chord melody. But for the bass I was wondering what would be best, to play the root notes of the chord or the melody?:)
wow, that's help much on how i should practice my fingering.. thx a lot.. i'll practice your lesson everyday, and let's see if i can beat you speed.. lol.. kidding..
I can't explain to you why this technique that you shared hadn't hit me yet, but I thank you profusely for sharing it with us. You have just broken down for me to its simple-ist form a really useful hand position technique. Many many thanks!
I am mostly self-taught (no disrespect to all the fantastic musicians on you tube that I've picked up valuable lessons from) but I feel that I will be "ready" for conventional lessons after a degree of skill is learned and mastered on my part first.
Cool, I read soul bassist like Chuck Rainey/ Jamerson also used the fingernail back-stroke. I guess its all about what tone you are wanting etc. Cheers for the comment. Also, I have just added my bands film clip to my playlist. Rock On!
right hand is just two ...aka jaco etc. A good exercise is to practice leading with the index - middle , then reverse that , middle - index: esp across strings. thanks
thanks mate...I hope it is helpful in seeing how the fretboard is designed and how in fact the same notes ( and pitch ) can be in more than one location, hence you can use this to navigate around the fretboard. Rock on...!!
this is extremely helpful!
