I'm no theologian, but leprosy is representive of sin. the two birds, one dying and one set free may be a type of Jesus dying and shedding His blood (Heb 9:22 'without shedding of blood there is no remission of sin') and the other bird freed representing the resurrected Jesus. All things in the Old Testament point and lead to Jesus. reading the Bible from this angle will give you a new perspective. Repent or perish

Shedding of blood only is for Jews. Further, if it's just a representative, then it's a metaphor, and not literal. If it's not literal--how do you know what is and isn't literal? Theists always claim contradictions or absurdities are "metaphorical". Then we have the ending, which is the crux: believe or burn. Intellectual intimidation, which just invalidates the entire thing.

actually it's repent (turn) or burn. 1 Cor 1:18 "For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God" either it's true or it's not. and if Rev 21:8 is right, saying all liars go to the lake of fire, and if you've ever told a lie. you're in trouble. 1 Cor 6:9-10 says if you've ever stole or had sex outside of marriage you'll go there too. you're in big trouble my friend.
