Excellent series, thanks so much for posting it. Katharine Schlesinger's portrayal of Anne is powerful, moving, and very touching, bringing to life the Anne who still exists in her diary.

Loved the movie. All through it I wondered about how to hide to out without being caught should this ever happen again? The answer is you can't. Such as Koophuis did not tell meip mr frank did. .And also Mrs Van Dann did not die in Belson they transported her to other camps then to the last one she died they could not say exactly where or time. alot of facts were wrong but still a good movie LOCATIONS such as Merwedeplein home SPOT ON.. @mizzpurplicious Don't forget this is the 1950's version. It has only been 5 years after WW2 was over. So of course it wasn't as detailed as the 2000's version. But yea did they did get some of the scenes right. One thing I don't like about the 2000's version is that they don't use paragraphs from the diary unlike this movie right here. And Anne's emotions are more rawr here. At least they got the kiss right.

Now where would video games be without the Japanese? And if we weren't involved in the War, we wouldn't have found out about the Nazis. And we were involved because the Japanese attacked. And what about Nuclear physics? No Nuclear Power Plants or Nuclear Missiles would exist if we didn't make the Atomic Bomb.

@Amaroqdricaldari As much as I agree with SOME points, the Americans finally got off their asses when the Japanese attacked. Then again they ddi provoke them by restricting assess to metal and other resources. I'd go on about conspricy, but I don't want a fight. But the Americans as well setted themselves up by turning the systems to detect places off that way they can suffer casualities, have a reason to attack japan and test out the bombs. look it up. it took my a while, but it's there.

Excellent series, thanks so much for posting it. Katharine Schlesinger's portrayal of Anne is powerful, moving, and very touching, bringing to life the Anne who still exists in her diary.

And they should be honored along with the Jews who both lived through it. And those who didn't. Because if it weren't for those few people who took a stand to help Jews. None would be alive today.

@Honey360Bee Yes they would. The war ended and some camps were liberated. Not all of the survivors were hidden by helpful Germans. Some were able to escape as well.

Loved the movie. All through it I wondered about how to hide to out without being caught should this ever happen again? The answer is you can't. No these days with water meters, DNA in the sewers, and a whole host of things. It's simply not possible. And with all the religious infighting - Take your pick including Atheism. It's simply not possible anymore.
All the water company has to do is notice an increase in water consumption and you and those hiding U have had it.

These scenes are wrong. I know it was only a way to make the film more intense but this is wrong. The 1959 version was put together correctly and was way more better than this film.

oh god, so chilling when he opens the door behind the book case. they went through allll of that, they nearly made it and then, just one day was all it took and that was it. their wost nightmares came true in one random measly day that seemed just like any other measly day.

I agree that this is good but alot of facts are not right. Such as Koophuis did not tell meip mr frank did. .And also Mrs Van Dann did not die in Belson they transported her to other camps then to the last one she died they could not say exactly where or time. alot of facts were wrong but still a good movie LOCATIONS such as Merwedeplein home SPOT ON.. Was very impressed with her home scenes.I think what would I do? and could I have the courage of meip and all to do what they did?

@mizzpurplicious Don't forget this is the 1950's version. It has only been 5 years after WW2 was over. So of course it wasn't as detailed as the 2000's version. But yea did they did get some of the scenes right. One thing I don't like about the 2000's version is that they don't use paragraphs from the diary unlike this movie right here. And Anne's emotions are more rawr here. At least they got the kiss right.

haven't you seen that in the ratings of teh movies? PG-13 means "PARENTS STRONGLY CAUTIONED" it means its not for children under the age of 13 like in those ratings of G, PG, PG-13, RATED-R, and NC-17. They rate movies like those for the theaters
