  • you wash her in good weather? We do and mine gets so shinny. She same as you, res.

  • @7466309change Yes, in the summer, she shines like a new copper penny. In the winter, she rolls in the mud the minute I get her brushed off ; )

  • I love the way she is chewing and chewing. She is showing you that you are herd leader and that she loves and trusts you. :D What a sweet relationship you two have.

  • @tabs24x7 Thanks! ; ) We have been together for nearly two years now and have seen each other almost every day. ; )

  • I wish my horse could do that, the best I can do with her really is bareback. haha but we both prefer it bareback.(: love the video and she is beautiful

  • @ladylegsowner5 Thank you! I really enjoyed the video of you and your lovely welch mare ; )

  • sassy look s amazing!!! and... do you wana come teach my filly to know what to do with ques for when i ride her hahaha

  • @horsedreamer2292 I wish I had something to teach. ; ) More and more, it's the horse that teaches me. She knows what she is doing, she is just waiting around for me to finally get it right ; )

  • @horsedreamer2292 Watched your new vid...looks like you are doing great with that gelding and mare ; )

  • Very good!!

  • @tTinchen Danke viel! ; )

  • @Pferdefreak614 Ist dein Pferd ein Rennpferd? Vielleicht unser Pferde aus desselbe Familie.

  • bluberries yes .I find riding that I would tilt side to side or lean where I wanted her to go she,d have to go that way as I made all the weight shift and to balance she moved correctly.

  • That looked like LOADS of fun!! Sassy is such a DIVA!! I applaud your tackless riding.. everytime I do that I end up on the ground.. I might have more luck if I would separate the horse I was riding from all the others.. it seems I always have the grand idea in the middle of the pasture and then the other horses start chasing the horse I'm on and well.. it is nothing like you and Sassy. LOL!! maybe the horses think when I jump on one of their friends it means I want to play chase :o)

  • @kammisue This was done kind spur of the moment too. I don't think I would do it in open pasture with other horses ; )

  • yes she all healed now.I used to ride that way a grade mare Buchskin I had.I even would pick blueberries off her that way.

  • @7466309change That is neat. Now I am hungry for blueberries ; )

  • What you might (or might not) find useful for this, is to go back and get the saddle and leave the bridle off. Not that you're not doing just fine bareback, but a saddle, or at least a pad in between, might be more comfortable for both of you. Or maybe I'm just projecting. :-)

  • @kande50 What I have been using lately is a big wool pad under a bareback pad, and that does make it more comfortable for us. This ride was just spur of the moment, which is why we don't have the usual padding ; )

  • very relaxed, great partnership

  • @poolsproperty Thanks. We do work well together ; )

  • omg sassy is amazing!!! she listens very well!!!

  • @pontooflover She is just willing to do anything I ask of her. I agree...she is amazing ; )

  • @jibbberjabbber666 aw so sweet!

  • @pontooflover ; )

  • LOVE it!!!

  • @BnFHorsemanship Thank you. This horse just seems to do anything I ask her to do. Even still, she always surprises me with how much grace and style she does things, even the first time. I got just the right horse. ; )

  • Nice vid jib! The cheesehead...

  • @LinehandWi Thank you! I look forward to when you have some new vids up ; )

  • yea but can she play checkers?

seriously though very impresive the connection you have with sassy. you should be proud of what you two have accomplished together.

nice music by the way. relaxing.

  • @cazyhorseworld Thank you. I seriously have to give the credit to the horse. She is just up for about anything that I ask her to do. It's her willingness and intelligence that are the key. I have begun to feel that she is teaching me rather than the other way around.

  • Awesome! I LOVE doing this with Sunny...all the time :) You and Sassy look awesome :)

  • @jessep500 Thanks! : ) Give me another 100 years and I will ride as well as you do ; )

  • Very nice. Sassy (and you) seemed very relaxed during the ride! Great!

  • @PandDatMTRanch Thank you! She did a really good job ; )

  • Thank you my friend for the lovely video

  • @1761949 Thank you for all the great music on your channel. "New Life" just became one of my favorites of yours! ; )

  • aww this is so sweet!:')

you have alot of confidence to ride tackless!:o so well done!!:D

  • @BethEquestrian96 Thank you! All the credit goes to the horse ; )

  • @Pferdefreak614 Really? Is your horse a thoroughbred? And, if so, do you know the lineage? Maybe they are related! ; )

  • @jibbberjabbber666 Mein Pferd kommt von der Abstammung Secretariats

  • like we where told the Indians rode tackless .You do well also. that horse likes you.

  • @7466309change That is funny that you say that! ; ) I got the idea from this from reading a book on Native American Indian horse training methods. A lot of the tribes knew what "natural horsemanship" was long before we had a name for it. Thanks again, for all your wonderful comments! Hope your dog is doing better! ; )

  • really good ^^

    so cute horse :))

  • @MrsChocolate01 Thank you! ; )

  • This is amazing and such an accomplishment. For an OTTB, this video is the argument. I say that the TB is one of the most intelligent and gifted breeds we have today. Her relaxed and educated behavior shows what training means. Look at her head the whole time:how many times do we see that effortless relaxed walk in a TB? That is a "racehorse". My OTTB was the same way. 2nd careers are guaranteed.

  • @gcpropertymanagement Thank you, Mary. I think you are right. Sassy stands as a wonderful testament for OTTB adoption. So many of these beautiful, intelligent loving beings are thrown to slaughter every year, and generations in the future will wonder how the past ones could have been so thoughtless. Thanks, as always, for your wonderful comments!

  • Very nice Doug.!! I ride a bit bareback...but not confident enough tackless!

  • @NewfieSherry Well, I knew she wouldn't throw me, and I didn't think she would take off at a run--disinclined as she is to running anymore : ) I figured at worst, she might just stand there. But, as usual, she just acted as though nothing were different. She never ceases to amaze me ; ) Look forward to when you have more vids up ; )_

  • wow....what a balace ;)

  • @geo96best Thanks! I was impressed by how well Sassy followed the leg cues and how nicely she held her midline straight!

  • Always so nice to see you and Sassy! She is a real red-headed cutie! Great video and music! :)

  • @KarenEng Thanks Karen! ; )

  • Haha, love the title! You too look great without you're stinking tack!

  • @6horsecrazygurl9 Thanks. I figured the worst she could do was just stand there, but in usual Sassy style, she didn't seem to notice much different ; )

  • @jibbberjabbber666 At least she's a smart cookie and knows not to take off. I remember first trying this with Licorice. He thought it would be to fun to to take off into the long paddock -_-

  • @6horsecrazygurl9 Licorice and Sassy are a pair of good old horses, any way it goes ; )

  • @jibbberjabbber666 lol, yes they are. I'm just not sure if I'm such a big fan of the games they like to come up with at unfortunate times

  • @6horsecrazygurl9 True enough ; )

  • Very nice. Sassy is a good horse.

  • @robbourassaguitarist Thanks Rob! And thanks again for the use of the music. It was perfect! ; )

  • Great job!... both of you and the music is great too!

  • @margoniel Thanks. The music is Rob Bourassa. He has some great stuff on his channel.

  • Oh wow! Really nice! I ridden bareback and bridleless in a roundpen before but never an arena. You've trained her very well to be that responsive to your leg! :)

  • @HorsesHoldMyHeart Thanks! I think the horse has just trained me really well. ; )
