oh dear with me they get dirt all the time .only while I keep them from a roll they shine pretty nice clean with daples and all.Altho the white one is well dirt soon as he is free to run.Like the joke two white horses roll in the mudd.Mine does too.Enjoy you,re baby girl.
she has the best tempermant! u to are made for each other, keep up the great work! please check out m, libzandcaza and please atch the one where itsays: i fell off just after the camera died lol! thx! xx
I love the way she is chewing and chewing. She is showing you that you are herd leader and that she loves and trusts you. :D What a sweet relationship you two have.
I wish my horse could do that, the best I can do with her really is bareback. haha but we both prefer it bareback.(: love the video and she is beautiful
@horsedreamer2292 I wish I had something to teach. ; ) More and more, it's the horse that teaches me. She knows what she is doing, she is just waiting around for me to finally get it right ; )
bluberries yes .I find riding that I would tilt side to side or lean where I wanted her to go she,d have to go that way as I made all the weight shift and to balance she moved correctly.
That looked like LOADS of fun!! Sassy is such a DIVA!! I applaud your tackless riding.. everytime I do that I end up on the ground.. I might have more luck if I would separate the horse I was riding from all the others.. it seems I always have the grand idea in the middle of the pasture and then the other horses start chasing the horse I'm on and well.. it is nothing like you and Sassy. LOL!! maybe the horses think when I jump on one of their friends it means I want to play chase :o)
What you might (or might not) find useful for this, is to go back and get the saddle and leave the bridle off. Not that you're not doing just fine bareback, but a saddle, or at least a pad in between, might be more comfortable for both of you. Or maybe I'm just projecting. :-)
@kande50 What I have been using lately is a big wool pad under a bareback pad, and that does make it more comfortable for us. This ride was just spur of the moment, which is why we don't have the usual padding ; )
@BnFHorsemanship Thank you. This horse just seems to do anything I ask her to do. Even still, she always surprises me with how much grace and style she does things, even the first time. I got just the right horse. ; )
@cazyhorseworld Thank you. I seriously have to give the credit to the horse. She is just up for about anything that I ask her to do. It's her willingness and intelligence that are the key. I have begun to feel that she is teaching me rather than the other way around.
@7466309change That is funny that you say that! ; ) I got the idea from this from reading a book on Native American Indian horse training methods. A lot of the tribes knew what "natural horsemanship" was long before we had a name for it. Thanks again, for all your wonderful comments! Hope your dog is doing better! ; )
This is amazing and such an accomplishment. For an OTTB, this video is the argument. I say that the TB is one of the most intelligent and gifted breeds we have today. Her relaxed and educated behavior shows what training means. Look at her head the whole time:how many times do we see that effortless relaxed walk in a TB? That is a "racehorse". My OTTB was the same way. 2nd careers are guaranteed.
@gcpropertymanagement Thank you, Mary. I think you are right. Sassy stands as a wonderful testament for OTTB adoption. So many of these beautiful, intelligent loving beings are thrown to slaughter every year, and generations in the future will wonder how the past ones could have been so thoughtless. Thanks, as always, for your wonderful comments!
@NewfieSherry Well, I knew she wouldn't throw me, and I didn't think she would take off at a run--disinclined as she is to running anymore : ) I figured at worst, she might just stand there. But, as usual, she just acted as though nothing were different. She never ceases to amaze me ; ) Look forward to when you have more vids up ; )_
@6horsecrazygurl9 Thanks. I figured the worst she could do was just stand there, but in usual Sassy style, she didn't seem to notice much different ; )
@jibbberjabbber666 At least she's a smart cookie and knows not to take off. I remember first trying this with Licorice. He thought it would be to fun to to take off into the long paddock -_-
Oh wow! Really nice! I ridden bareback and bridleless in a roundpen before but never an arena. You've trained her very well to be that responsive to your leg! :)
just a fyi I have not ridden my thoughbred with out tack.i donot think she be comfy
