Hey can some one help me I am just a poor 15 year old kid who always carrys a knife not to show off but because i have had many different jobs that require me to have a knife, I am looking for a good sturdy folder thats not too expensive but is nice looking to add to my edc setup i really don't like the skeleton type knifes i just want a solid looking knife just a single blade, some one please help.
Hey did you guys know that in 1969 al buck came out with the kalinga pro and he loved it so much he decided to make a folding version in 2007 hahahaha
Unfortunately Buck discontinued the whole Kalinga line for 2010 and some other knives, so buy them while you still can. It's really a shame since these are some of Bucks' best knives.
great review!! Saw this for less than $89. Like the folder version you showed. Probably would get the fixed blade for the extra $10. Sheath on that one is spectacular. Great knife and thanks for sharing.
@cutlerylover Oh, sorry, no. It is a camouflage one. Yeah... it's not this nice for sure. Btw Jeff, I had another knife I thought you might take an interest in, the Smith & Wesson Powerglide.
I think he explained the fact that he does multiple tries of the same video before he gets the one he wants, sometimes obviously after saying something 5 times for 5 different vids, you may repeat yourself now and then, no big deal.
Thanks. I came to the conclusion that I'm not gonna carry a knife after reading Marc "Animal" MacYoung's articles about the REALITIES of knife fighting/knife self-defence.
thats because u probably bought it off the buck website... dont pay msrp.. my favorite place to buy knives is amazon com because website sell through amazon so youll get the best deal
lol, sorry yeah I know I said it twice, when I make videos I often have to make them 2, 3 or even 4 times or more so I forget what was mentioned already, lol...
Could'nt be very cost effective for buck to order bigger boxes for their smaller knives. I'm sure the company they order boxes from has smaller boxes and would be cheaper also. Not to mention the hundreds of trees they would save. Anyway, great review of an excellent knive. This is one of bucks better looking hunters. Love the sheath also.
yea but if they get the box orders wrong alot can go wrong they can lose money because they have nothing to ship the knife out in and its easiers buying boxes that fits anything then tallying all of the production numbers on certain sized knives
I have a problem with my Buck Folding Alpha Hunter: the tip of the blade hits the bottom of the handle (obviously the inner part), so the blade has dulled for about
0,5cm... have you ever had this problem on your Bucks or have I been unlucky with mine ?
If you want a great knife at an incredible price, grab a Kershaw 'OSO Sweet'. It's an assisted opening (a sort of legal psuedo-switchblade) knife which, at @ $25, is about as much blade-for-the-dollar as you'll find today.
An alternative at @ $25 is the Gerber FAST Draw (also assisted opening).
If you're willing to spend a little more (I got mine for $46), the SOG Aegis is absolutely gorgeous. It's ALSO assisted opening...
assisted opening is a great idea, and kershaw is one of the best knife companys, although not as well known. i prefer the ken onion series, i think they all are assist, but kershaw is a very dependable company, i have a kershaw leek, and it has served me well for 3 years and has not needed to be oiled
No argument from me. Kershaw knives are, imho, the best values to be had... though I'm no fan of the Leek. I much prefer the robuster Blur series. The Blur is one of my favorite $50 knives... together with the Aegis. Did I mention how gorgeous the Aegis is?
:)
There are better knives... but not for the price. For instance, Benchmade knives are a bit better than Kershaw... but at double and triple the price, they should be at least that...
this is it i want this knife jeff ahahah i have change my mind dont want he dodo i want this gonna find my self one of this ..... most handsome in ur collections WOW...............

intrested in 2 knives. the buck 110 folder or the folding alpha hunter without the cuthook. i have the problem that i really cant decide. so maybe you can tell me you witch of the two knives you recommend. please awnser me quik
I'm a big fan of buck knives. I was wondering, I'm a 19 year old with a pretty fixed income, and just wanted to know what you may recommend for someone wanting to buy another Buck knife, folding, for no more than 40 dollars american?

i agree ignore the fools we enjoy the vids, talking about knives is next best to buying and playing with a knife ,could look and listen all night at knife vids.
my only complaint is not enough videos but i bet their hardwork.
I meant what I wrote to be constructive criticism. In the last half of the vid you sound like a rhino stomping on a wet sponge. Sudafed, theraflu, whatever. Take it. Feel better. Make better vids. If you are trying to maintain brass, I highly recommend a product called NeverDull or something like that. I have it and have used it on one of my knives with brass caps and to maintain the brass cleats on my 1969 13' Boston Whaler. I'm not exaggerating when I say little tiny bit of rubbing will take of tons of tarnish. Try it once and you'll fall in love. I don't know what the solvent in it is, but it works amazing on all sorts of metals with tarnish or rust. it literally is like magic.
yes he did. watch his one on how he does his videos. he says sometimes he repeats things cause he gets distracted. plus he says he does it like 4 times each.
I would not say that the cheeper ones are worse, because they will hold up to a heavy beating beater. They are 440HC blade with stainless steel handles, that have a rubbery scale for grip.
great review, that sheath almost looks like a Christian Fletcher design, it's definetly his style
and heuss what, I payed a visit to my grandpa the other day and he gave me the old bowie he carried, if i can find a webcam to use ill make a review of it
great review Jeff. I am starting to collect the older style knives myself now.............most of my knives are "tacticool"..but now I really want case trapperlocks and buck alpahs etc.and even old case knives that don't have a lock.just old world quality
Hey Jeff, how is the liner lock on this knife? And do you know the blade thickness? Im thinking about picking this one up, a reply would be greatly appreciated
Hi, from your fan from the Philippines !!!!! I would just like to tell you that the word Kalinga exists here in the Philippines ^_^ I am from the Cordillera Region or mountain provinces and the Kalinga is a name of a tribe here in my region. I would just like to know if the owner of BUCK kNIVES came here and might have gotten the inspiration to name the knife that you are making a review of?
Interesting, I am sure the name meanssomethin,g just not 100% syure if it has to do with the tribe, that might be a good questuion to email buck knives...
hobbitassasin got it lol...well nylon is a man made material usually black, and woven tight, where kleather is animal skin, solid material cut to shape...leasther will be either natrually brown or stained black, although other colors do exist...
Love your knife videos, my criticism though would be that you repeat yourself to much and waffle on a little, still your great work overcomes that! Thanks!
a have a knife like this except the blade is a little smaller and it dosnt open very fast at all, what can i do to make it open faster without losening the blade pivot point, thanks
great review, I like the knife, I think it would be nicer if the handle scales went right to the edge and end so the the lanyard hole passes through them, the sheath is very nice looking, I too would prefer it having an option for horizontal carry.
The patina on the brass looks good on the other two knives, gives them character.
Well, that knife certainly looks familiar! About time ya did the review amigo! Just playing. I know you got stuff to do. How did you know it was "Mothers" wax I had used? Don't think I mentioned that. :-X Anyhow, another stunner as always. BTW, lovin' my new leek :)
Yeah its been sittgin hewer for a whuile now, haha, Lov eit though, Im glad you are enjoyign the leek! In one of the messages you mentiond you used mothers, and I remembered, lol...Hey guys love it for cars, why not use it for knives right!

Damn, I really want to get this knife now.

I would not say that the cheeper ones are worse, because they will hold up to a heavy beating beater. They are 440HC blade with stainless steel handles, that have a rubbery scale for grip.

great review Jeff. I am starting to collect the older style knives myself now.............most of my knives are "tacticool"..but now I really want case trapperlocks and buck alpahs etc.and even old case knives that don't have a lock.just old world quality
jorvik 3 years ago
Hey Jeff, how is the liner lock on this knife? And do you know the blade thickness? Im thinking about picking this one up, a reply would be greatly appreciated

Hi, from your fan from the Philippines !!!!! I would just like to tell you that the word Kalinga exists here in the Philippines ^_^ I am from the Cordillera Region or mountain provinces and the Kalinga is a name of a tribe here in my region. I would just like to know if the owner of BUCK kNIVES came here and might have gotten the inspiration to name the knife that you are making a review of?
charliepogi1969 3 years ago
Interesting, I am sure the name meanssomethin,g just not 100% syure if it has to do with the tribe, that might be a good questuion to email buck knives...

i collect fixed blades what is the differince between nylon sheaths an lethar
wadew7 3 years ago
one is nylon one is leather....
HobbitAssasin08 3 years ago 4
hobbitassasin got it lol...well nylon is a man made material usually black, and woven tight, where kleather is animal skin, solid material cut to shape...leasther will be either natrually brown or stained black, although other colors do exist...
cutlerylover 3 years ago
nylon is like durable and bendable, leather is like....hard and durable
knives06511 3 years ago
vice versa
lamborghinigallarodo 3 years ago 3
hmm, i never seen a hard nylon sheath, usually when i buy knives it comes in nylons and its soft

Love your knife videos, my criticism though would be that you repeat yourself to much and waffle on a little, still your great work overcomes that! Thanks!

ive got the fixed blade version in 420 hc with the black rubber handle.very cool knife, and very comfortable in the hand.
luvmykimber 3 years ago
great review, I like the knife, I think it would be nicer if the handle scales went right to the edge and end so the the lanyard hole passes through them, the sheath is very nice looking, I too would prefer it having an option for horizontal carry.
The patina on the brass looks good on the other two knives, gives them character.
wizzla111 3 years ago
i dont like that sheath...its like a gun holster.
filo4life11 3 years ago
