  • Nice answer to the box thing I recently got a Buck Vantage avid and a pro and kind of had the same question thanks ;)

  • Contract

  • A Buck 110 in my opinion is a great alternative to this knife.

  • Hey did you guys know that in 1969 al buck came out with the kalinga pro and he loved it so much he decided to make a folding version in 2007 hahahaha

  • what have u been sniffing :))

  • when brass tarnishes it adds character ... i love it!

  • Unfortunately Buck discontinued the whole Kalinga line for 2010 and some other knives, so buy them while you still can. It's really a shame since these are some of Bucks' best knives.

  • I'm looking for a nice sharp knife do you have any suggestions?

  • @Idontcare9876543210 Every knife can be sharp, you'll need to be more specific.

  • @Idontcare9876543210 I would reccomend getting one with a blade, cause those are generally sharp.

  • @Idontcare9876543210 - I'd get a sharp one.

  • Hey dude good review. I must say the blade is identical to the Spyderco Chinook which I love. It must be that Spyderco copied this blade.

  • Tacticool

  • yeahhhh buck is the best knife co ever....AMERICAN CLASSIC

  • great review!! Saw this for less than $89. Like the folder version you showed. Probably would get the fixed blade for the extra $10. Sheath on that one is spectacular. Great knife and thanks for sharing.

  • Great vid. this knife is actually about $100. The one below is the 420hc..

  • "it feels really good in the hand, it really feels good" that's what she said

  • im buying one of these right now!

  • $56 on Amazon

  • @JosephNowhere this version withy brass,rosewood and S30V?

  • @cutlerylover Oh, sorry, no. It is a camouflage one. Yeah... it's not this nice for sure. Btw Jeff, I had another knife I thought you might take an interest in, the Smith & Wesson Powerglide.

  • @JosephNowhere its ok I kind of thought that, same knife just a cheaper version nothign wrong with that...

  • @cutlerylover

Hey Jeff, how thick, or thin, is the liner there? is it the same as the buck folding hunter(279), which is a single mm thin...

  • I still have my granddads 110 folder. Sharp as ever, love it.

  • a really nice knife.

  • Now I realize why my tiny Zippo/Case Antique Jigged Bone Pocket Hunter came with a small yet still large-for-knife box.

  • i watched this video while drinking generic chocolate milk. i win.

  • De ja vue. You told the history twice

  • im diggin that sheath.

  • i got a buck 110 in a plastic case or something, but that knife looks beautiful, it looks smoothed out when unfolded and the sheath is nice

  • looks nice

  • nice drug dealer scale X-D

  • Beautiful model.

  • my buck 110 came in the same size box

  • i know what you mean when you say bigger knives dig into your gut

  • You said the history of the knife 2 times! We understand!!!

  • I think he explained the fact that he does multiple tries of the same video before he gets the one he wants, sometimes obviously after saying something 5 times for 5 different vids, you may repeat yourself now and then, no big deal.

  • No, it is not spring assist.

  • /facepalm

  • Very interested in you Buck Kalinga. heres my cell 2676145798.

  • how , i never knew knives good be so expensive... i thought expensive was like 60 dollers...

  • fixed is better for hunting:)

  • Which is better for street self-defence?

  • likely fixed cuz they're stronger but if your looking to conceal it better id go with folding

  • Thanks. I came to the conclusion that I'm not gonna carry a knife after reading Marc "Animal" MacYoung's articles about the REALITIES of knife fighting/knife self-defence.

  • cest juste un beau couteau XD

  • thats nice

  • nice

  • i prefer heavier knives

  • WTF?! I paid $169!

  • thats because u probably bought it off the buck website... dont pay msrp.. my favorite place to buy knives is amazon com because website sell through amazon so youll get the best deal

  • No, actually I bought it at a place called Merlo's Cutlery.

  • Oh no. I think you paid full retail price.

  • Im pretty sure that Buck uses the burgandy leather to compliment or match the rosewood handles

  • 2:30 there are ways you can modify the sheath to fit it more comfy

  • 0:20

    3:42

    Deja vu?

  • lol, sorry yeah I know I said it twice, when I make videos I often have to make them 2, 3 or even 4 times or more so I forget what was mentioned already, lol...

  • haha i noticed that too, i was like "does he realize that he said the same thing twice?"

  • It does say on the Buck website the weight. :p Maybe it did'nt when you went on but you just have to click "Tech Specs" on the right.

  • i used to have the fixed blade version i bought it as a impols buy

  • very nice review,, thank you,,, i love that knife and will def. buy one asap..

  • would you trade for a buck 110w/ the leather case and like 25 extra dollars?

  • I appreciate the offer, but no thanks

  • ok thanks anyway, dang this is like my dream knife, but theres no way i can spend a hundred bucks on a knife.

  • Comment removed

  • Could'nt be very cost effective for buck to order bigger boxes for their smaller knives. I'm sure the company they order boxes from has smaller boxes and would be cheaper also. Not to mention the hundreds of trees they would save. Anyway, great review of an excellent knive. This is one of bucks better looking hunters. Love the sheath also.

  • yea but if they get the box orders wrong alot can go wrong they can lose money because they have nothing to ship the knife out in and its easiers buying boxes that fits anything then tallying all of the production numbers on certain sized knives

  • awesome knife.

  • im a big guy for only being 14 and i have only ever carried a leatherman vertically and it dug in so bad, so i have never open carried again

  • do you use your sentry oil to polish the brass on the bolsters and liners?

  • you could, although for brass I woudl suggest flitz, its food safe and more effective...

  • the best way to polish brass is to just rub steel wool in a circular motion and it shines it right up,try it!

  • rofl

    "i am a big guy"

    "M&M"

"i dont know why a knife reminds me of an m&m" xD

u are great, i love your reviews, especially about zippos xD

just got my first last week and ordered an other one today to start a collection ;)

  • nice vid, as always...

I have a problem with my Buck Folding Alpha Hunter: the tip of the blade hits the bottom of the handle (obviously the inner part), so the blade has dulled for about

0,5cm... have you ever had this problem on your Bucks or have I been unlucky with mine ?

  • Oxblood is the leather color.

  • i saw a realy cool knock of at walmart of this do you think it would be crappy or good

  • its a very nice knife!i love mine!

  • 09:30 XDDDD

  • That sheath almost looks like a Christian Fletcher design.

  • lol his doorbell was ringing during the vid

  • I really want to get one of these, that's a damn nice looking knife.

I probably wouldn't even ever use it, I just want to look at it up close and personal, lol

  • What do you do with all these knives!

  • I think he more or like meant that he has alot of knives and what to use em' for, my best guess is he's a collector and he makes reviews :)

  • ye, i think he said that in some of his later videos, and knife collecting is always fun

  • good vid as always mate. hey, what do you guys think of Mtech as a brand?

  • MTECH is reaaallyyy good it is good quality, very strong, very sharp i have the Mtech Xtreme Linerlock

  • Mtech strikes me as junk.

If you want a great knife at an incredible price, grab a Kershaw 'OSO Sweet'. It's an assisted opening (a sort of legal psuedo-switchblade) knife which, at @ $25, is about as much blade-for-the-dollar as you'll find today.

An alternative at @ $25 is the Gerber FAST Draw (also assisted opening).

If you're willing to spend a little more (I got mine for $46), the SOG Aegis is absolutely gorgeous. It's ALSO assisted opening...

    :)

  • assisted opening is a great idea, and kershaw is one of the best knife companys, although not as well known. i prefer the ken onion series, i think they all are assist, but kershaw is a very dependable company, i have a kershaw leek, and it has served me well for 3 years and has not needed to be oiled

  • No argument from me. Kershaw knives are, imho, the best values to be had... though I'm no fan of the Leek. I much prefer the robuster Blur series. The Blur is one of my favorite $50 knives... together with the Aegis. Did I mention how gorgeous the Aegis is?

    :)

There are better knives... but not for the price. For instance, Benchmade knives are a bit better than Kershaw... but at double and triple the price, they should be at least that...

    Value-for-dollar, you can't beat Kershaw.

  • jeff-you told the history twice! lol

    nice vid

  • whats the stand the called?

  • Do you have any boot knives? And if you do please make a review, and how to wear it.

  • i was looking around here in youtube and i found this reveal.

i colected knives a lot of time ago but(for nO reason at all)i stoped.

thanks to this review,i looked for this knife and bought one,man what i beautifull piece!

So... thanks to you! for bring me back and i will keep coming here looking for more great good knives.

as a side note, because of the review on the centofante 3 i had to buy one too!rss.

Sooo now i back in full to my addiction to knives!

    THANKS JEFF!!

  • this is it i want this knife jeff ahahah i have change my mind dont want he dodo i want this gonna find my self one of this ..... most handsome in ur collections WOW...............

  • is there any mexican knife collector over here???

because i am and i would like to suscribe to your chanels, be in touch and maybe trade or buy/sell knives!!!

  • nice.

  • what country

  • knives are illegal in my country :-( .But that duznt mean im not gonna get it >:D

  • haha!! go for it, this is truly a mans knife.

  • how do you spread butter on bread ?

  • With a machete. Its hard, but I'm a man. Hahah, jk >.>;

  • Hey Jeff, you often say...and I actually haven't checked to see if you did in this...in a survival situation. And for some time I've been wondering if you have ever been in one. I'm not trying to be arrogant or anything, I just honestly wanted to know. Let me know Jeff, and that would be sick if you subscribed to me seeing as I've seen probably half of your videos 3 times! :D thanks again,

    -mastercuber

  • Great vid! i would love a pretty knife like that. exept im only 13 and not aloud knifes :( but yeah, you mentiond weight of it may be an issue, but to tell you the truth i like heavy objects. i would rather have a heavy knife than a realy light one. i mean the heavyness feels like more strengh and quality :) great video

  • hey there... i may chose a knife and i am

intrested in 2 knives. the buck 110 folder or the folding alpha hunter without the cuthook. i have the problem that i really cant decide. so maybe you can tell me you witch of the two knives you recommend. please awnser me quik

  • I've got a review of the alpha hunter if you're interested

  • i always thought that it was so it was more conspicuous trying to steal a larger box.

  • I'm a big fan of buck knives. I was wondering, I'm a 19 year old with a pretty fixed income, and just wanted to know what you may recommend for someone wanting to buy another Buck knife, folding, for no more than 40 dollars american?

  • Have to say I am a huge fan of Buck knives.

That is a sweet looking knife, and that sheath it comes with is pretty great too. Only disadvantage is that you have to take your belt of to put on/take off the knife + vertical carry, but I think that the curved shape of the sheath would help with vertical comfort carry

  • thats an auesome knife

  • that knife would fit well side-ways on chest webbing... just a thought? im thinking of a chest rig of special forces or something on them lines.

  • how many knives do u have

  • awsome vid

  • great vid

  • LOL- U said the history of the knife twice. I have a buck knife 327 nobleman

  • Do You carry a knife on you?

  • yes I carrya multiple knives and a gun almost everywhere I go, watch a current edc update of mine...

  • yea always

  • dude that is nicest knife ever

  • good review keep up the good work !

  • 0:20 and 4:17 same story

  • do you have a buck bantam? and if so could you do a review at some point?

  • damn man that is one good looking knife. The Sheath just looks so great , but when you opened it i was like " Damn i want that now!" the Blade perfectly matches the Handle and sheath in beauty

  • I Love it when you show us shiny sharp things.

  • I understand your complaints, but this is just how I do thgins, I hit record and make a review as if Im talking with you in frotn of me, if I were to just say the specs and show the knife it woudl be just boring, you cna figure that out by doing research...although I appreciate constructive critisism, this is just how I do it, if you dont like it, there are other great knife reviewers here on youtube, dont struggle to watch one of mine...other guys have their own way of doign it...

  • dude u rock, screw that hairy monkey loser ^^

  • second that.

  • I keep reading that, and I keep laughing. Very funny stuff.

  • i agree ignore the fools we enjoy the vids, talking about knives is next best to buying and playing with a knife ,could look and listen all night at knife vids.

my only complaint is not enough videos but i bet their hardwork.

keep it up mate, any plans on a zt 200 /302

  • I meant what I wrote to be constructive criticism. In the last half of the vid you sound like a rhino stomping on a wet sponge. Sudafed, theraflu, whatever. Take it. Feel better. Make better vids. If you plan you vids then you won't have to take 15+ mins to do 3 mins of material. And yup I'll keeping watching. commenting, etc.. Really liked that hairy monkey loser comment. Cracks me up.

  • lol sounds like your name fits your amount of brainpower perfectly

  • Thanks for your categorical and decisive rebuttal.

  • If you are trying to maintain brass, I highly recommend a product called NeverDull or something like that. I have it and have used it on one of my knives with brass caps and to maintain the brass cleats on my 1969 13' Boston Whaler. I'm not exaggerating when I say little tiny bit of rubbing will take of tons of tarnish. Try it once and you'll fall in love. I don't know what the solvent in it is, but it works amazing on all sorts of metals with tarnish or rust. it literally is like magic.

  • haha you told the history about the dude twice lol

  • yes he did. watch his one on how he does his videos. he says sometimes he repeats things cause he gets distracted. plus he says he does it like 4 times each.

  • holy shit i want to fuck you.

  • what the fuck

  • i like buck knives, i recently got a 110 folder and have a 119 special.

  • I like how you say the same fun fact twice XD

  • beau

    tiful

    *nods*

  • Haha, Your clock is in EVERY one of your videos, it just hit 10:00 A.M. when you were making video. I could hear the dongs

  • i have the original

  • why are people giving the current comments bad comment and i think thats a very nice knife 5 stars all the way!!!

  • Nice job man!! Great review on a beautiful knife!

  • Lol. I like your M&M analogy. Rock on with the good work!

  • That is a beautiful knife great review Jeff! 5/5 -RICH

  • Damn, I really want to get this knife now.

  • I would not say that the cheeper ones are worse, because they will hold up to a heavy beating beater. They are 440HC blade with stainless steel handles, that have a rubbery scale for grip.

  • hey man in your next account update could u give me a shoutout thanx man ur vids rock

  • great review, that sheath almost looks like a Christian Fletcher design, it's definetly his style

and heuss what, I payed a visit to my grandpa the other day and he gave me the old bowie he carried, if i can find a webcam to use ill make a review of it

  • i have the original kalinga. extremely intimidating blade shape

  • great review Jeff. I am starting to collect the older style knives myself now.............most of my knives are "tacticool"..but now I really want case trapperlocks and buck alpahs etc.and even old case knives that don't have a lock.just old world quality

  • Hey Jeff, how is the liner lock on this knife? And do you know the blade thickness? Im thinking about picking this one up, a reply would be greatly appreciated

  • Hi, from your fan from the Philippines !!!!! I would just like to tell you that the word Kalinga exists here in the Philippines ^_^ I am from the Cordillera Region or mountain provinces and the Kalinga is a name of a tribe here in my region. I would just like to know if the owner of BUCK kNIVES came here and might have gotten the inspiration to name the knife that you are making a review of?

  • Interesting, I am sure the name meanssomethin,g just not 100% syure if it has to do with the tribe, that might be a good questuion to email buck knives...

  • i collect fixed blades what is the differince between nylon sheaths an lethar

  • one is nylon one is leather....

  • hobbitassasin got it lol...well nylon is a man made material usually black, and woven tight, where kleather is animal skin, solid material cut to shape...leasther will be either natrually brown or stained black, although other colors do exist...

  • nylon is like durable and bendable, leather is like....hard and durable

  • vice versa

  • hmm, i never seen a hard nylon sheath, usually when i buy knives it comes in nylons and its soft

  • Love your knife videos, my criticism though would be that you repeat yourself to much and waffle on a little, still your great work overcomes that! Thanks!

  • Another great vid and detailed infomation thanks PARA111(+)

  • god that knife is amazing how much did it cost i was listening to music while watching the vid so i didnt here what u said

  • Lol.

It is about 100$ at 4:50.

  • nice man

  • a have a knife like this except the blade is a little smaller and it dosnt open very fast at all, what can i do to make it open faster without losening the blade pivot point, thanks

  • Yeah, I felt like an idiot not seeing that....my mom said no...

  • is it spring assisted it opens fast

  • nope just smooth and freshly lubed, lol...

  • ive got the fixed blade version in 420 hc with the black rubber handle.very cool knife, and very comfortable in the hand.

  • great review, I like the knife, I think it would be nicer if the handle scales went right to the edge and end so the the lanyard hole passes through them, the sheath is very nice looking, I too would prefer it having an option for horizontal carry.

The patina on the brass looks good on the other two knives, gives them character.

  • i dont like that sheath...its like a gun holster.

  • Well, that knife certainly looks familiar! About time ya did the review amigo! Just playing. I know you got stuff to do. How did you know it was "Mothers" wax I had used? Don't think I mentioned that. :-X Anyhow, another stunner as always. BTW, lovin' my new leek :)

  • Yeah its been sittgin hewer for a whuile now, haha, Lov eit though, Im glad you are enjoyign the leek! In one of the messages you mentiond you used mothers, and I remembered, lol...Hey guys love it for cars, why not use it for knives right!

  • That's my thought process! Anyhow, keep up the good work, Merry Christmas, and I hope ya feel better amigo!

  • Hey , Jeff it is in the high quality really nice
