if a band wrote albums that were always the same we would have lots of acdc type bands. already this is better than wrath.at least this sound has crunch.after seeing them i found it hard to listen to later albums cus they were boring and sounded too studio perfect.lets all listen to as the palaces burn.
@ddstar this IS Lamb of God. Go listen to burn the priest or the other 6 l.o.g records if you want non stop screaming and squealing. For the rest of us, who have been on board for years, it's a welcome ( and pretty slight) change. It proves that Randy is not a one trick pony.
i was skeptical at first, but this album is really growing on me. i see it as a mix of sacrement and wrath, or rather they saw the best in both albums and expanded on it. still pure american metal
I like the clean vocals. Good to see Randy adn the band are trying new things while still bringing the heavy and brutal stuff we know and love from LoG. As long as we can still have his outstanding screams, I think the change is good.
Everyone is entitled to their own opinion I understand that. Being a long time fan of these guys and hailing from the same area, I don't get why there is so much hate for this album. I'm glad it's not another clone of Sacrament/Wrath and there are so many elements that throwback to their earlier sound (not this song maybe). I for one think the new album is great and I'm happy they decided to experiement some with their sound.
@crazispeedemon Yeah, I'd like to see just one song where he sings cleanly throughout the entire song, but then again, there are some LoG fans than are more afraid of change than the Catholic Church, so they'd throw a fit.
Yeah the same bullshit happened with the Beatles. They hated the next album because it was not the same. But if it was all the same, then they would not write anymore cause they would already have the same album out! No one would want to listen to the same thing over and over. All albums rock, and have their own meanings and reasons for being recorded and written the way they were.
Funny thing is, in an interview Randy Blythe predicted backlash from the beginning of this song. Is it fun being predictable? I wouldn't know myself, I think this song is pretty great.
to all the people who say that this album sucks, i think your wrong, yeah they changed their sound a bit, but in all honesty, how can you think this sounds bad, this album has to be their best, i think the change up in sound keeps their music fresh, its deffinatly different, but in a great way, FUCKING AMAZING

American Gospel: Brutal and Thrashy
Ashes of the Wake: Not so thrashy but still heavy as fuck
Sacrament: Progressive, Heavy as fuck with a hint of melody
Wrath: Good old fashioned heavy
Resolution: Thrashy, Brutal, Great Melody
All these fuckers know how to do as a band is EVOLVE with each album

@10dthompson60 I love them all, but Ashes of the wake is by far the best and most melodic album. imo.

Rock on, Randy. Wish you'd sing more. LOL, like he's even reading this. But still, you should sing more.

@Caswallawn1 why make one song with him fully singing just to please a handful of fans?

Look folks. I have listened to this album over and over again.
Fortunately for me though i loved it as the rest of the albums
I see where people are coming from saying its different; cause it is.
Wrath was different to..As i recall the sound was described as them being in your room with you.. and i agreed ;)
Sacrament (The first album i pre ordered by LOG), was different then the ones before it too.
But they were all good...
If you dont like it then dont listen to it.
Stay Metal \m/
