He and other conspirators tried to blow up the Protestant-dominate Parliament but was captured, tried, convicted, and sentenced to death. The Russian Orthodox Church is at war with the Catholic Church so I can see reason to celebrate. I know Bonfire Night is celebrated in North America in some places.
