For all fans who are worried why they lip sync: The producers of the tc show wanted them to do it because the quality of the sound in this outdoor location wouldn't be on a good level for live singing.

in some places it's cheaper to sing with the recording than to have the performer be live...that could be the issue or I might be wrong, but at least they were able to get out there and show they do have talent

I don't think it's their choice whether to sing live or not, I've seen other performances on ZDF and those other artists that perform always lip sync.
