At first michael didn't like erin in comparison to pam, but he probably loved how much of a fatherly influence he had over her when they really got to know each other. he never could have been that much of a trusted friend to pam or any of the other people in the office. i love it.
Aside from Holly, his relationship with Erin was one of my favorites. And, it's so amazingly beautiful that they both entered his life quite late. Because, he literally had to wait for good things to happened to him. I can still remember when evil Jan was all he had, and now he left to be with Holly and is going to keep in touch with Erin. That is so sweet.
Personally, I feel like this was one of the most unappreciated moments of that entire night: such a sweet and sincere moment between Michael and Erin and I loved every second of it. You can't help but see a little bit of Michael in her, and the same of her within him...and for once, I'm actually looking forward to seeing how her, Andy, and Gabe work out.
Couldn't have asked for a sweeter way to finish off Michael's relationship and "fatherly figure" ways toward her: this was just a lovely scene.
Oh it's so adorable, i love Michael and Erin's father-daughter relationship.
