i used to live in knight hall and i remb when they were tryin to kick us out bc we were not honor students,.i thot that was outrageous,.BUT i did not know about this happening.

For the person who got kicked out,..im sorry. they should not have done that to you. it is unreasonable and honestly stupid. The university made themselves look bad,.maybe bc they are.

I remb the two sisters who lived downstairs,.they were so sweet and VERY talented musicians :D i hope they are doing well...

Being the student in question, let me say for any who view this video now, that the interview got a few things wrong....

I've had seizures for quite some time. I'm not so much in the hospital in the video to find out what is causing them, so much as I need more recent documentation stating what the problem is, before ECU would accept it.

There were multiple seizures. Also I was on the top floor of Knight hall, and they were concerned that I was going to fall down the stairs and break my neck.

My ECU teacher also called EMS on me to get help but I refused to go to the hospital for another four hours just to be observed. I don't understand why someone would be kicked out of the dorm just for one single seizure. I think that there is a lawyer for a president that things are much more strict.

I just graduated with a B.A. in Human Services vocational rehabilitation counseling and enjoyed my stay at ECU but feel sad about what happened to Dave.

For some reason ECU has a history of taking action in the wrong way. I remember when they tryed to kick out people from knight hall just because we were not honor students! If I were you guys I would take action! Just like how we turned over the act of getting kicked out of knoght hall-you guys that are still at ECU can make a difference...Your voice will be heard louder when you have numbers on your side!

Knight Hall is now an Honors' Dorm but we were allowed to stay on the bottom floor since and had already lived there two years. I have blindness, hearing imp. and epilepsy and I was told one time by my counselor that if I didn't take meds like I was supposed to and had many seizures cause of it, I could be considered making a "distraction" in class or at the dorms. I am taking meds correctly. I had several seizures in class but never had any troubles from counselors or staff about it. ...

college has no case. It is direct discrimination and is illegal. That school is not eligible for any state funding by law, if they go through with evicting him. I am cancer survivor and my school has put up with seizures, and hospital runs by me. if they can endure it so can anyone else.

For someone with documented epilepsy/seizure, you would definatly have to be on some form of medication or be controlled where seizures would not happen in school or on the dorm since medical staff are not available to treat someone with a seizure. Now EMS is usually called out by someone at ECU which happened to me several times. But for you to be kicked out of Knight Hall, where we lived, is not reasonable to me. May I ask, are you on medication now? Is you seizure disorder Epilepsy? Take care

Hello Dave- my name is Crystal and I am a student at ECU finishing up my degree. I have complex partial seizures and they are somewhat controlled with keppra and tegretol xr. I had several in class and on the dorm, but was never treated like you have been. My "friend" Austin I believe has ruined some of your chances of attending ECU because of his BEHAVIOR, not actual epileptic seizures.

I feel bad for this kid. The sad story is that I know the reason (although unjust) that the school is treating him this way. My two best friends are graduating from there this fall and so I got to hear all of the stuff that their (ex) friend did. He FAKED seizures and had 120 in two weeks!! They didn't even treat him like this. It took 120 "seizures" on campus in married student housing and in KNIGHT HALL where my friends lived and a WEEK in the ICU for them to take action of ANY KIND...

Oh and by the way, I thought you guys might be interested in the fact that the dean of ECU is a LAWYER. So this guy has that working against him too!!! And that bitch Diane Berty is insinuating that a seizure is a "behavior" which it is not. The only way a seizure can be a behavior is if it is as FAKE as austin's was!!
