at around 1:57 you say to go into a D7 if I heard correctly, but it doesn't look like the D7 (2,2,2,3) I know. which frets are you holding in that chord?

Fairly new to the Uke myself but no problem following this excellent lesson. If you are finding it too hard, then be patient. Try perfecting some of the easier tunes of which Mike has many.

A bloke called Gavin showed me this tune at a uke jam about 2 hours ago.

I've picked up a lot from this vid and, more or less, have it nailed.

Sorry some found this tutorial hard to follow but serious it is NOT for beginning players. . . You do need substantial technique before attempting to learn this piece. There is also an inherent limitation in video lessons . . . I've done this same lesson one on one or in group workshops and it works well but that's because there is an opportunity for more demonstration and answering questions regarding fingerings. . . This tutorial was very sloppy and hard to follow. Definitely not the kind of tutorial I'd show to a beginning ukulele player who's just starting out. But after replaying it bunches of times, I ended up learning the song anyways.

Thanks - great instruction. I could follow it fine, I "pushed my envelope", and was running through the chord sequence within a half hour or so. It'll take weeks to get smooth and expressive, and finally fast, but that's what practice is all about.

I have learned alot from you but found this tutorial impossible to follow. your fingers are too large and you moved way too fast. maybe if I replayed it a hundred times.

OK Mike,, you really do motivate folks like me... Actually, you are a bit of a kid to me. The youngsters will appreciate you down the line even more... Keep on making music and thanks for sharing..... I know that it takes a lot of effort to do, what you make, to look quite easy ( teaching is an art but obviously for you it is your vocation) I am beginning to appreciate the music of the beatles more.. I get the strum rhythm but I keep trying to do it with my thumb which doesn't work. When I try to use my index finger nail I keep catching my finger on the strings. What am I doing wrong??
