@JCthaballa - am in New Zealand. I have since sold the 7G and went a little back in time with a JDM 6G VR-4 'Evolution'. Yes the 8k rpm redline and the song the V6 sings at that revs is amazing, the budget camera didn't really capture the noise that well. I miss the car, but it was very temperamental and I would compare it to owning an Alfa Romeo, it just needed constant attention to make it happy.
you're a fool and also a tool to believe that Honda first started it. Alfa Romeo had mechanically operated variable valve lift in the early 80s, and Nissan was the first to have electronically controlled valve lift in 1987 with the VG30DETT in the 300ZX. Go away fan boy.
Volvo fast? i raced a volvo s40-80 or something, 250 hp against my Prelude , with barely 150 hp, Guess who has a heavy ass?And lost? it wasent me or the Honda!
I have the 8th Generation V6 but it only has 163hp. Mines sounds different. A bit more agressive i think. But yours is really really sportive! And of course i have no chance against your acceleration ;)
im afraid to say the engine in a volvo 850 is far better no shit. Ive driven a mits fto with the mivec 2.0 v6 engine and thought it was slow and crap, to be honest after driving me volvo's 2.5l 5cylinder there is big difference and a nicer sound.
that's awesome - that's your opinion and I respect that. I personally like my V6 - it sounds far smoother than a 5 cylinder inline engine. Remember yours is 500cc more than mine so of course it would probably have more power. There are literally hundreds of engines which sound better and go faster than my V6 - and probably your 850 too.

i agree these cars are real good drove 1 was wicked, however i find that the mivec drops back down to far compared to hondas to to combat this problem i took a 1800cc manual galant viento gearbox and did some minor adjustments and it flys now i can wind it out too 175km hour hit fourth and im off the clock it works wonders against vtec etc even turbo cars as third gear is pretty much the gear you want the most out of
Ok that explains it. You guys have it made when it comes to getting the good stuff. Yeah 6g vr4 is pretty much one of my favorite cars, nice pick up.

where are you located. I had a usdm 7g and am now on an 8g. That's nice that 8k redline seems alluring.

what model, was it exactly? Because, when you just were racin' a 1.6 s40, then i can see you point, but a T5, or any s80 will eat a prelude

What is ur max rpm? My max is 8300 withs my non mivec.
andrewcartuner 3 years ago
redline is 8000rpm and rev cut out is 8300rpm also. The redline on the DOHC non MIVEC is 7500rpm, not really a good idea to rev beyond that.
