Wow that is really impressive! The AT-ST is so underrated! Have to agree with ClandestineOstrich though, it is said the model used in Empire is what Kenner based the toy on (the same cannons on both sides/ unopened view hatches and so on). The variation seen on Endor in Jedi was redesigned to include additional detail. I am actually partial to the briefly seen first design. Again though, awesome animation!
why don't any of these 3d modeling people make actual movies with their talent? They could totally make a whole star wars movie, but instead, they make 10 second clips. Of course it takes long, but still... it would be sick, and I've never seen a star wars movie unless it was directed by George Lucas.
NICE WORK, whomever's work it is. The walkers almost look too alive to me though, as if they were animals or perhaps droids instead of heavy walking vehicles. The clunky stop motion of the origanal films kind of accidently made the click clack look believable.
Hello, I think this is a modified mesh of Arild Wiro's 3d AT-ST model, he made it many years ago and released it free to the public. Lightwave 3D was used I believe. This isn't my model or animation, I just posted a video of it, Adam Schimpf was the artist who animated and rendered the scene. He works for id software.

Really cool, but the AT-ST's used on Hoth weren't the same one's as the one's used on Endor.

why is this better than star wars battlefront 2's at-st?

The music is a remix of the ATST walking sound

Good job, it's very close to Tippett's original stop motion animation.

what software did you use to make that?
campervan25 2 years ago
This was rendered by Adam Schimpf, pretty sure it was some incarnation of Lightwave 3d.

Ok thanks :)

incarnation?
campervan25 2 years ago
I meant incarnation as a previous version, since the animation was in '03. Last I heard he was using Maya. He works at id software now.

you're right, this isn't my model though. it's more of a hybrid of the esb and rotj walker.
