The irony is, in a drop test, the iPhone actually did worse than the GS2. It cracked, whereas, GS2 didn't. And people saying the iphone looks "elegant" and "nice"? Not really. Considering most people stick on an ugly rubber or plastic case on their hardware for fear of dropping and breaking their device, it's a moot point. Once again, feature for feature, GS2 is better. Period.

All the young girls in my family have i-phones for the status appeal "it looks cool". I'm not a fan of i-tunes but i bought an ipod for the car which isn't supported in the manual but works through the usb manually controlled. Could have bought an mp3 player for peanuts and done the same thing.
iPhone is a toy phone. Kids have one because they think it's "cool." Very few people who have an Iphone actually get it for it's capabilities. If you ask them why they got one, they'll say "because it's cool." And that'll be it. OTOH, people who make informed decisions when getting an Android device? They know why SGS2 is better. I'm not sure what that is but its what they told me is required for the job. The retina displays resolution is massive. But when a phone like the Galaxy presents such a screen in your face like that its hard to question the quality. Then its speed weight and thinness all in such a large screen is hard to match. So yep its won me over.

We sell iPhones on contracts and monthly terms. A lot of people are interested in the no contract option until they hear the price of an iPhone. I then ask why they want an iPhone in the first place. Most typical responses are "because it's an iPhone," or "it's Apple," or "I don't know."
If you really want an iPhone, at least have a good reason to buy it.

It finally took an Android phone to work like a phone...user friendly with a smooth interface 4 years. Apple has been doing this since the first iPhone on specs that are considered weak today. iOS has a better track record of actually running like an OS should.

@BelowAverage355 Bigger screen with lower resolution, the camera is not better, the CPU may be faster, but doesn't score as high in benchmarks or feel as snappy when using it. Battery life is pretty much the same. Micro SD = slow as hell, and has major issues when accessing data over 4GB due to file system limitations, which is a PITA for developers with large apps or things like long videos. The weight is like 24-grams difference, but then it is made from metal and glass, not plastic.
@TalesOfWar It may be lower resolution but with lot higher contrast and color saturation. Seriously, my 22' monitor with blue-ray video looks very sharp and crisp enough, amd 1080p on 22' is less than 100ppi. I don't see the problem with 200ppi, unless you watch it with a magnifying glass maybe.

It finally took an Android phone to work like a phone...user friendly with a smooth interface 4 years. Apple has been doing this since the first iPhone on specs that are considered weak today. iOS has a better track record of actually running like an OS should.
Other than that, both phones are great and Samsung has the right to brag. Trashing either phones now would just be fanboyism.

@BelowAverage355 Bigger screen with lower resolution, the camera is not better, the CPU may be faster, but doesn't score as high in benchmarks or feel as snappy when using it. Battery life is pretty much the same. Micro SD = slow as hell, and has major issues when accessing data over 4GB due to file system limitations, which is a PITA for developers with large apps or things like long videos. The weight is like 24-grams difference, but then it is made from metal and glass, not plastic.

@TalesOfWar It may be lower resolution but with lot higher contrast and color saturation. Seriously, my 22' monitor with blue-ray video looks very sharp and crisp enough, amd 1080p on 22' is less than 100ppi. I don't see the problem with 200ppi, unless you watch it with a magnifying glass maybe.

I have dropped my S II many times until now and sruprisingly, it is not broken; pretty solid though it looks very flimsy. My iPhone 4, dropped it from a motorbike, the back glass shattered! In terms of solidity, Nokia is the best as always.
