  • Beautiful.

  • great playing nice pan ok peeps study this playing and forget bout the sticks, in any case serious pan players need to have more than one type of stick, vibraphone and other stick players do, you are the one to make the best of your instrument not the stick, you got wood /aluminum, whatever there are diferrent techniques to each type

  • yo mahn im froma jahmaka

  • sure you can write the note names on the instruments - in this video you may catch a glimpse of the bass pans with names written on them: Solo Steel pan - Dave Reynolds @ the Pan Explosion Festival, Nelson Mandela Bay

  • wut

  • Hey do you reckon you could have a steel pan with the notes written on the bumps in texter, for beginners?

  • @zwerty007

This is my original arrangement. And I have not made the score.

Do you mean that do you want the score of "Let it be" on steelpan?

  • @airtone1980 No I'm saying for begginners you could write the notes in the little bumps of the steel pan so they can work out which is which more easily, not really relating to let it be.

  • @airtone1980 did he ask for an arrangement? no, he was asking if there was a way to mark each spot with its corresponding not. like coloring it so it says C , C#, D u kno

  • @airtone1980 no i think they wants what each bumps note is written on the bump that way they know which one to hit in order to play, most people dont naturally know which note is which on a steel drum

  • @airtone1980 i think he mens he wants to know where wich tone is...

  • @airtone1980 i think he's asking you if its acceptable to write the notes of each tone-field in sharpie in each field, for beginners, until they could memorize which note is where.

  • @airtone1980 no he would like you to write the tones(c,d etc.) so he could learn from your vids as he cant read them without and as you are going full speed.

    i think.

anyway nice song i love steel drums :D

  • @zwerty007 You could always try stickers. I use them on my glockenspiel, and they don't change the tone whatsoever.

  • @zwerty007 that is how you learn steel pan. if you go to trinidad you would beable to buy it like that.

  • @zwerty007 if you look closer, you can see holes all over the plate, where he is hitting :) these are the notes :D and they are different in size :D

  • It's so cool,very nice music.

  • this pan is hand made by yourself?

  • what kind of pan is it? i'm really interested in learning! any advice? great cover btw

  • Thank you comment avalita139607 . My pan is low single tennor.

I checked your youtube, and your cover is also very beautiful.

  • could you hit me up with some notes. I really want to do a beatles medley, but my conductor doesn't think it would sound good. That would be much appreciated.

  • very good !

  • I totally imagine "under the sea" being played in this instrument.

  • ya it is what its played on. sounds amazing

  • Heard this song and, jizzed in my pants.

  • you gave me goosebumps.

  • If you don't mind me to ask but do you like those mallets. I got aluminum and there much better in sound.

  • I use these mallets for practice in house.

and these are made of bamboo and polyurethane.

When I play on stage, I use wood mallets with rabber.

These can make bright and big sound.

  • fucking awesome!!!!!!!

    ;)

  • I. Love. You. That was awesome.

  • made me jizz

  • Amazing job!

  • cool

  • good sound!
