  • Greatest piece of music from any soundtrack I've listened to, apart from Duel of the Fates.

  • so i went with 20 of my friends to the midnight showing, 10 of them had to leave cause they were crying to much, i tried to stuff my face with food, which really didnt help with the water works......

  • and this is the end for us. the story has ended and there's nothing more we can receive. my biggest dream is to keep this love deep in my heart and to never forget how important it was for me. harry potter is the best thing that happened in my life. i started to write books because of harry potter, i'm not afraid to say what i really want to say and THAT'S what harry's been teaching me for those all years. now, let me cry while listening to this.

  • When I was at the movie theater I was like WHO IS CHOPPING ONIONS!

  • This helps me write stories, I let all my emotion flow out and this song helps me.

Especially when they are about Harry Potter

  • Ohmygod.

When the first lower notes started to play, i felt something tug at my heart, and i actually teared up. This music is amazing. Now i feel like i want to cry, or go watch the moon rise.

    It's just that powerful.

  • 0:01 - 0:59 When I heart this part..

I knew my childhood is over.

  • this song it's the most beautiful !! it's sad!! very sad.. i cry when listen this music! sorry my english.. i'm latin! alexander desplat the oscar to the best bso is for you.. ok? best ever!!!

  • @naybritxxx yeah, OSCAR PLEASE!!! HE DESERVES IT!!! T.T.T he gave a soul to the movie!

  • gentle and beautiful.

  • without a doubt, beautiful.

  • Before I went abroad this summer with a music program, I put the audio from this video on my iPod. I remember listening to this over and over on the bus rides, and I ended up falling in love with a boy. I will always associate this song with him, even if things have changed now, and I just want to thank you for uploading this.

  • Did no one ever think that yes, although Snape was mean, he was alot meaner when Draco was there. Dumbledore said the Dark Lord would return, and Lucius was a deatheater. So he had to be more biased towards Slytherin because when he did return Draco could have told Lucius that he was being nice to the Gryffindors and therefore it would have damaged his role as a spy. I'm not saying he was a truly nice guy though. But he was a hero. <3

  • This what makes me cry. I only cried inside my mind. HP7 is the best picture and film ever in my ENTIRE LIFE!!!!!!!!

  • @Sebastiantreecko it's the best THING, MOVIE, BOOK, in our lives, it gave us a childhood

  • is it just me or does that picture look like the Warcraft II box art.

  • I'M SO HAPPY HARRY POTTER IS NOMINATED FOR A GRAMMY IN 2012 FOR BEST SCORE SOUNDTRACK.

    :D :D

    ALEXANDRE DESPLAT DESERVES IT.

I HOPE HP WILL WIN. :D

Harry Potter is up against Black Swan, The King's Speech, The Shrine and TRON: Legacy in this category

  • The Tale of The Three Brothers

    Voldemort died for power.

    Snape died for love.

Harry greeted death with open arms.

  • @yoshifan9945 O.O you're right, it's true, how dont i see that?

  • My heart hurts whenever someone tells me it's just a book because it'll always be so much more. I feel sorry for those who don't see it the same.

  • @xoxoFAnw ♥ Lovely put ♥ I feel the same (::

  • the ending part is my absolute favorite :D

    3:00 to the end :3

  • Thumbs up if you thought James Potter is a douchebag.

  • @JazzIceberg Why is James a 'douchebag'? Yeah, he was stupid and horrible when he was younger, but that doesn't change the fact that he was nothing short of heroic for sacrificing his own life in attempt to protect his family. He died trying to save his wife and son; he did nothing wrong.

  • @Infeecctteedd Well I'd say sacrificing your life for your son must be considered natural rather than heroic.

I could hold my judgment for James the dad (even if I didn't learn much about him from the movies so you never know), but didn't you just hate him when he was still that little arrogant bastard bully? X]

  • I can't wait to show my kids (if I have any, most likely in 30 years) what built my childhood. Forget Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Goldorak or the Thunderbirds, this is Harry Potter. I'll watch the movies with them and watch them play with my HP figures.

  • @SeniorGenesis I'll the same thing! T.T I grew up with star wars and The Sound of the Music, and i thank my dad, because they are great films, especially The sound of Music, i learnt ALL the songs, and I'm latin XDD

then I will do the same, I will show this movies, and first, the books, to my child if I have one n.n

  • Aw man.

    This song is breathtaking. D:

    RFDMHIRMHFDNHINHEFVNHIFDNFDNHI-....

  • Thank You Alexnadre Desplat(:

  • Was anyone else brought here by Ned Flanders reading Harry Potter? lol

  • " Why are you here? All of you?" " We never left." " Does it hurt? Dying?" " Quicker than falling asleep." " You're nearly there son." " I'm sorry. I never wanted any of you to die for me. And Remus, your son-" " Others will tell him what his mother and father died for. One day he'll understand." " You'll stay with me?" " Until the end." " They won't see you?" " No, you see...we're here." *points to Harry's heart* " Stay close to me." " Always."
  • Check /watch?v=LJgBJCBt8J4 for the full scene of this music! :)

  • LoveThePhelpsTwins

Your comment about Fred made me cry so hard. Thank you for posting it.

  • this is my third best scene no fourth. third saddess scene

  • One of the most heartbreaking scenes.

  • Thumbs up if you think Fred should have appeared from the Resurrection Stone, too.

    I can just imagine it;

Harry: "I didn't want any of you to die for me."

Fred: "Well, neither did we, mate, but we still did. Hopefully we've helped made this crummy world a better place...a better future for everyone..."

    Harry: "You'll stay with me?"

    Lily: "Till the very end."

Fred: Harry, mate...t-tell George not to cry. To be strong. Tell him...tell him I love him...if you make it...please..."

  • @LoveThePhelpsTwins Aww...Why didn't they make Fred appear?

    Thumbs up.

  • @LoveThePhelpsTwins

Actually, I don't remember Fred dying at all in the movie. o.O only losing his ear, but thats it..

  • @SailsTheFox96 Um, I think you've got your Phelps mixed up. Haha. George loses his ear in Part 1 and Fred is killed in Part 2. It's all in the final book, The Deathly Hallows - just it's not split into two parts, just one book.

  • @LoveThePhelpsTwins Oh. o.o

I don't remember them showing Fred dying though.

    Guess they cut it out..

  • @SailsTheFox96 Oh, no, Fred's actual death scene was never in it. They never even filmed it actually. It got edited out of the scipt. I just mean't the part he's dead on the stretcher.

  • @LoveThePhelpsTwins oh ok.

Aww that sucks. why do they edit out all the important parts? (most of them.. o.O)

  • ÉPICO!

  • Alexandre Desplat is definitely a genius, it's such a mind-blowing song !

The 40 last seconds are outstanding....

  • I feel sorry for people that haven't shared Harry Potter... i can't imagine my life without JK Rowling

  • No matter how many times i play this, i will always cry.. the end of an era and a sad one at that!!

  • *SOB*

GRANDE

  • The best movie ever...!I 'm so sad it came to an end.... :((

  • 0:46 to 1:27 could totally be something to Assassin's Creed

  • @NightFury141 Funny you say that. When I first saw this movie and heard Lily's theme and this song, the Assassin's Creed 2 soundtrack immediately came to mind.

  • Comment removed

  • My favorite chapter in the book, my favorite scene in the film. Such a moving soundtrack to it too. " Stay with me." "Always."

  • "Does it hurt?"' The childish question had escaped Harry's lips before he could stop it.

"Dying? Not at all," said Sirius. "Quicker and easier than falling asleep."

  • @Infeecctteedd Well wouldn't you wanna know if it would hurt if you were about to be killed? o.O?

  • @Infeecctteedd when sirius talk in this part my heart beats very hard T.T.T

  • Even my sister cried during this scene. And she has the emotional range of a teaspoon.

  • @LunaTheLoony I also cried but no tears. It's just deep inside my mind. The film and the song fits to be a tragedy.

  • @dippikastike I would have LOVED to see that </3

  • harry potter it s the best part of my life

  • @tajemniczy88 Harry Potter IS my life!

  • bjb

  • @dippikastike I like that thought but the proplem is snape was "evil", well evil is a bad word for it but snape really hated harry that part of snape wasnt a show

But yes that would have been clever

  • Omg, i rembember this song, in the begginging, students walking into Hogwarts, and Snape as watching them,...god i love when it goes,AAAAHHHHHHAHHHHHHHAHHHAHHHHH!

  • @dippikastike True, for the first time,...,if that did happen,.....Snap could have actually smiled...

  • in my opinion, the harp from 3:02 is probably the most beautiful section of music from all the 8 films.

  • personally I'm glad snape didn't appear. he was never close to Harry, and whatever his reasons he went out of his way to be cruel to harry, gryffindors in general and particularly neville (perhaps he wished voldemort had gone after neville instead of harry and subconsciously resented him for it?). he was a tragic character but that doesn't exonerate him for cruelty. i loved this scene as it was though, it was so beautiful, my favourite in both the book and the film.

  • @bannanas4eva . ALL THROUGH HIS LIFE, HE DEALT WITH TRIALS AND SUFFERING THAT NO ONE SHOULD UNDERGO. HE WAS CONSTANTLY BULLIED AT SCHOOL BY HIS PEERS, AND EVENTUALLY SHUNNED, NOT ONLY BY HIS ONE REAL FRIEND, BUT THE LOVE OF HIS LIFE. YES, HE WENT DOWN THE WRONG PATH, BUT HAVEN’T WE ALL? HE RISKED HIS LIFE TO TURN BACK TO THE SIDE OF GOOD WHEN HE FOUND OUT HIS MASTER WOULD MURDER THE GIRL HE LOVED SINCE HIS DAYS AS A BOY.

  • @bannanas4eva IT WAS HIS MISSION TO PROTECT HER ONLY SON, THE ONLY REMINDER HE EVER HAD OF HER. HE HELPED, GUIDED AND PROTECTED THAT BOY, UNTIL HIS DYING DAY SO THAT HIS LILY WOULDN’T HAVE DIED IN VAIN. SEVERUS SNAPE WAS CONSTANTLY MANIPULATED, NOT ONLY BY YOU KNOW WHO, BUT ALSO BY DUMBLEDORE.

  • @bannanas4eva SNAPE PUT HIMSELF IN CONSTANT DANGER, PLAYING DOUBLE AGENT FOR DUMBLEDORE, JUST SO THAT HE COULD PROTECT ONE BOY. HE HAD TO LIVE HIS LIFE FULL OF REGRET FOR MAKING ONE STUPID, TEENAGE MISTAKE THAT HE REGRETTED FOR THE REST OF HIS LIFE.

  • @bannanas4eva YEAH, AT TIMES HE COULD BE A REAL BASTARD, BUT LIFE NEVER GAVE A REASON TO BE OTHERWISE. SEVERUS SNAPE DIED TO PROTECT THE SON OF THE ONLY WOMAN HE EVER LOVED. SEVERUS SNAPE IS THE SYMBOL FOR HOPELESS, SELFLESS AND ETERNAL LOVE. HE LOVED HER, ALWAYS.

  • @bannanas4eva He hated the golden trio because together they made his Lily. Hermione had the brains, Ron the hair and Harry her eyes. He hated Neville because Neville could have been the chosen one; therefore his lily would have survived.

  • @diehardHPfanforever awesomeee.

  • @diehardHPfanforever

Your comment about how Harry, Ron and Hermione's features combined in one reminded Snape of Lily, was REALLY INTERESTING.

I never thought about it this way. :O

I only thought Snape didn't like Hermione and Ron mainly cause of their friendship with Harry but I now realize that's not the only thing.

Your comment makes a lot of sense.

This should be a top comment.

  • @gullywog its actually really obvious. To catch on to all the little details takes time. I've read the series 16 times (no joke) and each time I notice something. JK Rowling is a genius. Every single little thing she wrote all connects. and everything just becomes so obvious in the end. <3

  • @diehardHPfanforever So true! J.K. is really a genius.

  • @diehardHPfanforever

Now that you've mentioned it I kinda feel silly for not noticing that before. :(

Those are great observations by you though.

As you've said, JK Rowling is truely a genius.

I've read books 5 to 7 and I really feel bad about it because I have not read the first 4 :(

but I am planning to do so ASAP when the entire collection of all 7 HP books are released and sold on Amazon. :D

  • @gullywog You can get the box set at Barns and Nobles.com. You need to read the other books!

  • @iheartquidditch

Ok then, THANKS. :D I will definitely read them all.

(A surprising HP fan who happens to be my grandmother)

read ALL the Harry Potter books and she promised to give them to me but unfortunately termites ate them. :(

  • @diehardHPfanforever that is horseshit from tumblr and you know it. snape was a badass but he also had severe emotional issues that included bullying innocent schoolchildren under his jurisdiction. THAT'S what genius of rowling - creating such a flawed, angry, complex man, not some bleeding heart.

  • @kiwiifalling Actually thats the genius of Rowling. She made the Golden Trio to equal Lily. Its obvious..... I agree with you on some points. Snape was an asshole, but life never gave him a reason to be otherwise. People are assholes for a reason....

  • @diehardHPfanforever lol yeah XD

Snape did his part so well he was a serious jerk. lol

  • seeing the movie makes me want to read the books. i dont care if im a twilight fan! who says you need to like one and not the other?!

  • @hvitrgharm15: Do it! The books are much better than the movies! And no, it's not entirely mutually exclusive. There are some who are fans of both HP and Twilight and who like them for different reasons. Due to the popularity of both series at the moment they tend to be compared though whilst they really shouldn't be. But give HP a go! :) The books age with the characters - it's awesome. :D

  • I think it would be really amazing if Snape was still watching over Harry after he died, even if he didn't appear with the ressurection stone. I think he didn't appear because Harry wasn't thinking of him in the forest that day. He had only just realized that Snape was a good guy whereas those who appeared in the forest he had known were on his side the entire time. But I still think that Snape was watching him in the forest, even though he wasn't seen.

  • When I went to see this movie, I didn't cry at any specific points, because I cried from beginning to end. I am still so sad it's over :/

I probably cried hardest when *spoilers if you didn't see it* Aberforth cast his patronus and they ran through the courtyard and found Lavender dead.

And then when Sirius is talking to Harry and saying that the dead never truly leaves us. They can always be found in here *points at Harry's heart*

Oh God. Here I go again x-x.. I love Harry Potter.

  • I wish they would have let James talk to Harry in the movie. He was just sort of chillin in the background.

  • I always cry at this scene. It's just so emotional...The way Harry looked at Lily when he saw her...and James,Sirius and Lupin too, people he needed the most all dead and never able to come back..............and Snape really deserved to be there, but we will remember him as a hero.Always ♥

  • 3 dislikes is the Malfoy family!

  • I'm probably going to get some bad vibes for this, but....

We all seem to be forgetting that Snape treated Harry like crap. It didn't matter that he was Lilly's son, he wasn't pretending to dislike Harry. He truly HATED him. But he still protected him because of his infinite love for Lilly. He wasn't a great guy overall, but he was indeed a hero.

  • @YikesTroll

I hear that, definitely. For a while I wondered the same... but then my take on it is that these are the people that meant the most to Harry in his life. Up until recently, Harry had spent his life under the impression that Snape was a mean son of a- .... whereas these were the guys he knew were with him from start to finish. Dumbledore, ofcourse, also being one, cept he had a seperate time with him.

Still..... 'mon Snape, you tragic hero

  • I was surprised when I saw that Dumbledore wasn't there either. D:

  • This makes me cry...

  • This beautiful melody sort of puts everything into perspective for me: I'm going to listen to this if I find things are tough. The fact that I'm a huge Harry Potter fan and so sad that it's the end of an era definitely adds to that.

  • Beautiful Melody ... very beautiful the best form this album ....

  • The 3 dislikers are Death Eaters

  • I think Snape not appearing was symbolic of his character; a tragic anti-hero. He risked his life every day for a boy and accepted having a lonely and sad life if it meant to keep Lily's son safe. He did not care for recognition for his actions of if anyone knew of his bravery as long as he helped protect Harry and bring down the killer of Lily.

I would've loved though in the movie if they just had Harry tell all of them just what Snape did for everyone.

  • freddie should have been there

  • @laurajamieson05 I never understood why not </3

  • @dippikastike Don't Forget Dumbledore

  • Most beautiful track of all time.

  • @martinorv illegal

  • I cried at this scene in the film :'( i saw this film twice and cried still idk how breaking dawn can match up 2 this!

  • 2 dislikers were searching for Justin Bieber.. R.I.P Snape. love you

  • always I believed and trust Snape .. his history is so sad :(

  • 2 peaople who dislike this video they have no heart

  • this soundtrack make me em dead and my soul in the air

  • Reading the comments is making me cry...Harry will live in our hearts forever <3

  • The best movie in the world!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I love this, it's absolutely beautiful! <3

  • Que dire de cette magnifique musique, et de ce moment émouvant !

"Je n'ai jamais voulu qu'aucun de vous meurt pour moi".

    "Reste avec moi"

    "A tout jamais".

  • I simply can't accept that it's over..it can't be... :(

  • @YikesTroll dumbeldore wasn't with them also

  • this touches my heart.<3

i'll never forget how i grew up with harry potter.

  • Enchanting x]

  • Help will come to those who DESERVE it

  • Best song in the series.

  • @harliediamond i agree completely.

  • This gives me such a deep feeling of sorrow. But a kind of sorrow that's already dealt with. That says "I've accepted this. It's fine."

  • @YikesTroll So, everyone else who protected harry risked there life's though Snape was still a mean bully but very brave

  • Where can i download this?please tell me...

  • When i hear this i start crying, because i was yesterday on this film,i never forgot to Harry Potter, never to the books, never to the films,Harry will be always in my heart, the books was it the most beutiful books, what i ever read and the films was it the most beautiful films what i ever saw.Harry stay with me always.(sorry for mistakes,i am froom Czech Republic)

  • Comment removed

  • @FuzzyNikki I was exactly the same. I gave in to my friends telling me to read the books (only 3 months ago now) and finished the final book days before part 2 came out. Oh wow, despite having the ending fresh in mind, I still cried at this. So I know how it is, and don't worry, we're two of millions.

  • Oh god, I cried.

  • "....Of house-elves and children’s tales, of love, loyalty, and

innocence, Voldemort knows and understands nothing. Nothing.

That they all have a power beyond his own, a power beyond the

reach of any magic, is a truth he has never grasped...." Dumbledore's words are so true for this melody.... Apt that Harry spends his 'last' moments with his loved ones, while Voldemort clutches to the last remnants of his shattered power, incapable of loving and being loved, living in the shrunk form forever...

  • oh and if you go to the pottermore quill finding sight nd go to soundtrack this is not lily's theme its similiar

  • 'no description available'- soo true

  • @YikesTroll i agree, i think that snape and many of the other main characters that had died should have been there

  • love female vocal in this n Lily's Theme *.*

  • @lolololcassy i felt d sme.. heart touching moment..

  • Worldwide highest-grossing films: ranked 12th as of 31july with $948,460,000!!!!!!!! Still have short way to go..to reach $1billion........

  • @YikesTroll you have right

  • was in the cinema and i remember when this piece of music was being played, and listening..and loving it,but when i heard the piece between 0:25 and 0:45 i remember thinking,..holy shit that sounds a lot like the intro of 'resistance' by muse, it just made the scene that much better :D

  • @ballinastack93 completely agree ;D

  • It was really sad, and just shocking when you find out Snape cared for Harry all this time and liked and protected Lily all this time. I think they should have had a small scene where they showed dobby through the pencive. Just for a second, because dobby took that knife for harry, and without him, harry would be dead. The scene where harry met his parents and Lupin and Sirius just totally brought me to tears.

  • The Forest Again.

Excuse me while I cry a river of cries

  • @YikesTroll: Was the same feeling reading the book a while ago - when finally it was revealed, that Snape was his friend, but never even allowed to tell (would have messed up all). He finally was honoured when Harry gave his sun the name "Albert Severius Potter"

  • @Lightningchase1973 "Albus Severus" Potter

  • HARRY:And Remus....your son

REMUS:Others will tell him what his mother and father died for

    EPIC!

  • Daniel Radcliff magnificent performance when he sees his family with the resurrection stone, oscar 11

  • This is so sad. :(

  • Daniel Radcliff did this scene perfectly....the last 40 minutes of this film was brilliant him and Alan Rickman deserve Oscars

  • I FOUND IT!!! FINALLY!!!

  • there once was a boy named harry who constantly conquered death, but in one final duel between good and bad, he may take his final breath...

  • This is one of the most beautiful pieces I've ever had the fortune of listening to.

  • You can imagine every scene in every track...they're all beautifully done with emotion.

Alexandre Desplat should win an Oscar for this soundtrack <3

  • "do not pity the dead harry, but pity the living, and above all those who don't love."

  • Always.

  • EPIC - LOVE - BELIEVE - CHOSEN - BEAUTIFUL [L E G E N D R Y]

    Harry Potter

  • There wasn't a dry eye in the house during this scene.

  • Maan I don't know about you but since I watched the film a few days ago there isn't 1 moment I don't think of the movie :/ When I wake up I think about it, when I fall asleep I think about it... I am REALLY SAD :( any suggestions to how to become normal again ? I don't want to do anythin except watcin HP. have never been a big fan of the series (I haven't watched the previous 2 films and) but when I saw this one I wanted to watch all from 1st to 7th then go to the cinema again.

  • @DrBlork Deep inside our own minds,no matter how hard we try to hide it,we get touched by stories like this one.It doesn't matter if you've read or watched this, inside you've got sucked into this life and the emotions written inside it.It would be strange if you don't get moved by it,it would make you senseless. The world that we live in today, got devoided of those strong kind of emotions...You are normal, you don't need to become normal again.

  • @FuriousLailla

Thanks :) Now I'm better because I have watched all the films again and went to the cinema after (again !)

  • Ghost Lily was really pretty

  • i feel that this part of my beloved, magical childhood will be forever in my heart...

when i left the cinema i cried all the time... and now when i'm listening to this awesome soundtrack i'm crying too... i've got chills on my body, i remember every moment with Harry Potter and his friends, who are also my friends.. thanks J.K. Rowling and here especially Alexadre Desplat for everything... <3

  • it sounds like luna is the one singing. *tears up*

  • One of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard...

  • Always... ;_;

  • When Harry said, "I am ready to die," I started trembling...my chest just ached. Then he turns around and sees his parents, Sirius, and Remus -- all of whom gave their lives for him, and are now "seeing him off" to his death, I cried. Another scene (there were so many of them) that made my heart break was Lily saying goodbye to Harry: "Harry, you are so loved. Daddy loves you, Mummy loves you...Mummy loves you so much. Harry, be safe, be strong." She stood up and died for him moments later...
