good idea, 4th gen f bodies have weak rear ends and strong motors. 5.0 mustangs have weak motors, stronger rear end, and lighter weight. lol @ plane45036 dont hate on this car because he didnt want to pay more to get the same power out of a 5.0 or a modular ford engine.

dude im a gm man but look up mike murillo, he built a fox body mustang using a ford rdi bigblock generating 2900hp@30PSI boost running 6.7@220mph and is expected to run 6.5@225mph@35psi boost making 3100hp!!!!!!! fyi im all about american power so im not biased to just gm or ford as long as we kick import tale!!!!!!

YES cheaper because its easy to make POWER with GM power plants. A cam and head kit on a LS1 will give you over 500 hp, a cam and head kits for my GT would be 350-375. Eash costing about the same for 125-150 more horse power. Yes GM is CHEAPER horse power. Im not a ford HATER by the way

yeah, I am a Mustang OWNER as well as OWNING 2 3rd Gen Fbodies and I KNOW for a fact that a Mustang is a far superior chassis for stock suspension drag racing.

And for the record, my 404" LS2 cost more money to build than my 400" Ford and they both make over 750hp naturally aspirated.
