  • @letterli Open E, capo'd at 2nd fret.

  • This should have about a million more views. Outstanding work.

  • Hey, Dege...can I come down and do some jamin with you?

I dont live too far away.

  • This still speaks as strongly as it did almost two years ago. Its time for a follow-up, please.

  • TUTORIAL....NOW.........please lol

  • @jonypark hed make bank if he played on the street with his case out. its good to know yall from UK like this music, with all the anti american sentimant goin aroun n all

  • @RememberSoCal I think the more open minded we are about each other, its less likely that people would think that way. There's been some solid artists come out of of the US that have changed the history of music just as much as the next person :). As for this anti-american thing, its just certain people being arrogant, embracing is the key, if everybody could do it the world would probably be a better place. Blues forever ;).

  • Are you amplified ? The sound is so clear and pure !

  • @ugo7894 That's just his supernatural powers.

  • Damn Right Son ! Time to spark one up now

  • Wow Dege. You just won over the west coast. Slide is such a perfect source for getting the feelings out. I like open C myself but I think I'll have to give open E a whirl now. Thank you so much for the inspration. I'm just now beginning to see what can truly be done with this style of playing. Thank you again and peace Brother.

  • Dege, you're great...

  • Are there any drums in the recording? My dad and I are having a disagreement over it. I say no, he says yes.

  • Excellent work. I wish I could get to this level.

  • Very soulfull , I played blues in an abandoned house once with my old band , it was used as a watch tower in the first world war , very creepy feeling but somehow pleasureful , the house got knocked down a few months later , so now all I have is memories:(!

  • it sounds like the guitar is going through a distorted amp, how do you get that dirty sound on acoustic without amplification, im stunned! peace

  • Secret sound!

  • aww man... at least give me a clue ;)

  • It's just old and I don't baby it. So it rattles.

  • Thanks, man. And right the F on!

  • alot of soul great musicianship the only thing that could make you play this great is alot of long hard years of a life that had to be pushed through..... it says alot about you... its nice to see somone playing great songs with great sounds and playing from the heart not from a want of fame... or a giant bank account

  • You are absolutely right. Thanks, Brother HighAssgaboi.

    Dege

    Ghosttown, Louisiana

  • Ya love this video, I've been playing my old 29 metal body dobro more and more lately. I got a few posted using this incredible instrument. I love the sound in that old house, a natural sound for both the guitar and foot tapping. Excellent video. This should have been a featured video right after you posted it. LOVED IT!! Mark

  • Incredible. Thank you.

  • Nice playing man!^^

Im playing the guitar myself but not slide guitar =( But I would really love to play slide, I just love the sound of it =)

    greetings from germany =D

  • RIGHT ON!

  • this is not a Dobro you goof!

  • what is then?? it looks like a dobro..

  • "Dobro" in the same sense that people refer to a copy as a "Xerox." The brand you play is unimportant; it's what you do with it that counts.

  • how did u get the dobro to distort?

  • Mind-Power. (or just play it hard...shit'll loosen up)

  • Comment removed

  • Just loosen the screw up on the cone a bit.

  • Amazing.

  • I've watched this video about 1000 time no lie lol. Absolutely love it, I'm a long time guitarist but this single videohinspired me to learn how to play slide. Respects on the vid, and all the others, but this is my fav!

  • Lol. mee too BiggChev. I must have watched this vid 1000 times too. Good Shi7

  • Thanks to both of yall. Hearing you speak inspires me in the same way. Unexpectedly. It all goes around, comes around, I guess.

  • I'd like to have a dollar for every time I've watched your videos. I'd be rich! ha. I can't get enough of your amazing voice and your dobro =). Keep it up.

  • Right on! More cool shit and guerrilla slide vids on the way.

  • Great sound, strong blues!

    Thanks for sharing.

  • Dude, that is fabulous!

    -Arroyo-

  • Right on, Thanks, Arroyo.

  • Seriously, dude. I am like a shredder guy, and what you playedhit me right here (points to chest)...maybe it was that double decker burger...no, I am sure it was your playing...

  • Nice!

And...oh by the way...I dig me some fucking metal, too.

  • I'm back to watch yet again! SIMPLY FAB!

  • puts a smile on my face knowing there is people like you out there.

  • is this in open d? great song man

  • open E capo 2

  • thanks. ive got a question. when you put a capo on the second fret of a guitar that is in open d, that guitar is then in open e. so if i put my capo on the fourth fret of my guitar, which is in open d, is that the equivalent of open e second fret? long question i know!

  • I think that'll work. but I'm not sure. I'd have to tune to that key and feel it out. but the math looks correct. Guessing.

    Rock,

    Dege

  • thanks dude

  • what brand res. guitar r you playin?

  • It's the only kind I can afford: CHEAP. JT Tursor. Write them fuckers and tell them to give me an endorsement. Cheap fuckers never write me back.

  • wow it´s great!

I´ve never heard it before, amazing!

    Thanks for sharing

  • Again from the displaced Houstonian, great stuff. You would do well at Dan Electros, The Continental Club (if it's still there) or McGonigal's Mucky Duck. My only regret is I have a Nat'l being brought back to Spain when I could"ve saved masive bucks on that J.T. I'll say it again, you are a great SOLO artist.

  • Great sound,great stuff,great singin'!

  • what kind of guitar you playin brother?

  • It's a cheapo...JT Turser. But it works.

  • i dig them cheapy 6 strings too my man. i dunno how some of these cats can afford their stuff. just done bought me a dobro hound dog, tryna teach myself to slide. cool digs my man

  • I agree. Cheap0's the way to go. Can you imagine any of the pre-war delta guys paying $2000 for a guitar?

  • hah! you know, i was thinkin that exact same thing the other day.

  • hell no i cant...i play slide on an old 60's harmony w/ a warped neck..haha...but yeah i got a cheapo "galveston"spider bridge dobro too...prefer the harmony cuz the strings are so fucking high,..love the foot stomp bro...

  • So cool!

  • Dege does it again! I love this song. Would love it if you'd come play in London :-)

  • This is music,,,,,,years back it was everywhere, dang glad to see someone is keepin' it alive!!

  • buddy i wish i could play that bottle like you.keep um comin big fella
