Wow. You are an amazing bassist. I really enjoy your playing. I was reading some of the posts.  What are piccolo strings? Do they replace all of the regular bass strings? What tunings do you use? Is it different for different songs? Do you use one tuning predominantly? Have you tried 5 string and 6 string basses? Have you tried a Chapman? Thanks for posting!

hey, piccolo strings are 020 - 052. i use all sorts of different tunings with pitch ranges between that of a bass and a guitar. i definitely change my tunings for different songs. probably the tuning i use predominantly is tuned in fourths with a standard bass' low C being my bottom string. i haven't tried 5 or 6 string basses or a chapman stick. hope this helps! check my channel for more info and thanks to you (and everyone) for listening...

Quick question on the side, how do you tune your bass? I've seen that you use many different tuning, but since there's no head to your bass, I don't see how you would actually be able to tune it? I've been thinking of buying a bass similar to yours, which is why I ask.

well, lots of reasons actually. firstly, i'm a bass player. that is my chosen instrument. secondly, like metalheaven said, the sound of the bass is awesome. no matter what type of strings i'm using, it's still played on a bass and the tone of the bass is warmer than a guitar. and thirdly, i can tune my bass anywhere from standard tuning up to the first four strings of a guitar - so i have a huge range.  most of the time i'm somewhere in between there, and i like this sound.
