I used to skate fairly regularly w/ Ray at Mcgill's park in Carlsbad back in the late 80's. Ray was such a stand-up guy, never lost his cool (even when he was completely dissed by Powell), always had a great sense of humor, and was quite the ripper. No doubt Ray will be missed.
I was so saddened to hear he passed away. I met Ray in Toledo when I was a kid. He was on tour with the Bones Brigade. He tore up the halfpipe. After the demo, he posed for pictures with us, signed autographs, gave skating tips..Just an all around great guy and role model. I never forgot him, nor will I. May he rest in peace. ;)
