  • Thanks for sharing this

  • Oh, Freida (Mrs. GeezerArt) or Tellus left that last msg.

  • What a fun video KENRG! Tree you made me laugh with the remark, "just one nail not 2" ha ha Your quilt turned out beautiful and I really enjoy watching all your video's!

  • Glad you enjoyed! One nail is important, because odd numbers are funnier than even ones.

  • I almost missed this! I usually catch her videos as they come and have been subbed to her for a long time. Getting behind through the holidays I decided to check out her page to see if there had been something I missed (past the 100 available in my sub list) and here it was! What a fabulous treat you have created and shared with us, "kenrg". Rubbing elbows with the city artisans...what a joy. I would have nothing much to contribute to the conversation but I could sit, smile and appreciate!

  • That's kind of how I felt about it: all I could contribute was to capture the moment on tape. Thanks for stopping by.

  • wow Tree is one interesting lady your very lucky to have met such an interesting person.

  • Very - She's a treasure alright!

  • Goodness...I almost missed this one. And a good one it is. And, yes, I too would love to have been there. Such a wonderful quilt from the hands of such a creative and interesting person.

  • Yes, the quilt was great, and the unveiling fun, but it was the entire experience of being there, meeting the people, and seeing all the artwork that made it such an incredible day.

  • Yes, I could see the artwork absolutely everywhere and it was truly wonderful. I need to rethink my own decorating. Need to funk it up a bit! LOL I am missing too many opportunities to display things that make me feel good and make me smile. That is about to change!

  • also I wonder.. does her daughter have a website?

  • Not that I'm aware of. But you could Google her? (name spelling is in the video).

  • I think it would be so interesting if her daughter were to do some videos about what it was like growing up with tree as her mom.. Bet she has some neat stories.

  • Those would be interesting. Even with all the stories we've heard from Tree's videos, I'm sure there's much more to be told.

  • You have to help me understand this. I enjoy Tree very much on VH, but I must be the only only one that doesn't get this..its a quilt--a quilt, like you put on your bed--a quilt? Why would there be an unveiling? Its a quilt. Is it to just an excuse to gather with friends? I really do not understand. Please help me understand.

  • A bit more than a basic bed quilt - really very impressive artwork. And an excuse for a party.

  • Thank you.

  • I am so glad to see this, was asking Margaret when she would show us the unveiling thinking it would be in a video on her channel - then found she had featured this. I would so love to have been there!!

  • It was great to be there - And I'm so pleased that it was what you were looking for.

  • Yes, I am one of the jealous ones...Oh to be able to meet Tree, just to be in her presence would probably knock me to my knees!

  • It was a great, magical afternoon. One we'll not soon forget. Thanks!

  • Thanks for posting this. Cartwheels for Tree!

  • Cartwheels? You will be video taping them and posting them here, right? Thanks for the comment.

  • Nice thanks for posting. It was almost like being there!

  • Thank you!

  • Wonderful. Tree is a treasure. Thanks for sharing, Ken!

  • Yes, she is - Thank you for watching!

  • the best video I've seen about a quilt today, no seriously it was. Joking aside, a hell of a lot of work must have gone into that!

  • It's certainly the best video I've ever made about quilting. And possibly one of the best I've made about an artist. Thanks!

  • Thank you for creating and posting this video. I thought about the Unveiling as it was taking place...on the other side of the continent....Margaret is a TREASURE....

  • Well, glad you could be there through the video. Thanks.

  • incredible, nice to see her art.

  • The house is full of her art - Just amazing stuff. Her daughter is an artist too; her specialty is stained glass butterflies.

  • truly awesome

  • Interesting video topic Ken, Margaret looks a lovely and talented (and patient!) lady, a lot of work goes in to one of those!:)

  • Very patient to create quilts like that. Video is much easier for a lazy SOB like me.

  • Thank you so much for allowing us to be the perfect party crasher. Being hard of hearing and a celiac (gluten intolerant), I'm always concerned about attending parties. You allowed me to hear every word, and I had no contamination from the cake :) Kudos Margaret! Now run home and start that next quilt!

  • Thank you - So glad you could enjoy it through the magic of online video.

  • wow i love the quilt and the masks (-:P mmm cake

and its always great to see more than one youtuber in a clip

  • I was enjoying the people and the art so much that I pretty much ignored the cake (a first for me). Yes, making videos with other people in it is so much more rewarding than making videos of myself talking to the camera.

  • Excellent quilts! Im glad someone is keeping the artform alive, thanks for the insight:)

Does Margaret have a youtube channel?

  • Yes, she is atree3 on YouTube. Please check out her vlogs!

  • Thanks!

  • yes she does

    atree3

    enjoy

  • Im on my way:)

  • Just Beautiful!

  • As I watched your video, Ken I was wondering what God did with the Mold after he created Margaret? I have the answer He broke it. Sometimes He only allows us to have one of a kind.

    Frank

  • Yes, she is one of a kind. I don't know if we could handle too many like that, but it would nice to try ;^)

  • That is one hobby I won't try to pick up. Many other things intrigue me, but this one... No, not at all.

  • I certainly don't have the patience for making a quilt like that (I can just imagine my bloody fingers in a swollen pulp at the end of the project), but I'm so glad that Margaret does.

  • Margaret is an amazing person and an inspiration. I would love to have been there. Thanks for making this video, Ken.

  • See, this is why you've got to come west sometime - like for the big YT Gathering the last weekend in March?

  • I haven't been to CA since 2004. I can't make it in March, but I do intend to come out sometime in the spring or summer. I have so many more friends there than when I last visited.

  • Wow, the house was full of hussle and noise which you dont normally see or hear, great video.:)

  • Yes, a very excited and talkative crowd packed into her home that day. It was great.

  • Oh how I would love to have been there too. Fascinating work and such interesting and talented people..Thanks for posting this.

  • Thanks - It's very inspiring to be in a house full of art like that. And the people were all wonderful.

  • What a great video :) Beautiful.....

  • Thanks!

  • MIKMA WAS HERE

  • You were here to see that I was there.

  • Can't watch - a little jealous. Will she be at the San Fran gathering?

  • You'll have to ask her. I have enough trouble managing my own schedule... But will you be coming? That would be great!

  • I'm working more hours on the corner to afford it. *giggle* I'm going to try my hardest to be there! I've started a SF fund. It is my bday the 29th sooooo... calling in teenager-sitting favors and such. :0)

  • Its nice to see so many art minded people in one place. Nice comments and interpretations. Love the quilt colors and she certainly is a magnetic person!

  • A wonderful group of people - All very interesting in their own right. Thanks for watching, we had a great day.

  • And you were just saying you never got invited to parties...

  • LOL - Yeah, well, we'll see if I get invited back...

  • i'm so jealous...

    thanks for sharing :)

  • Thank you for watching!

  • Oh my goodness, that quilt is wonderful.Just...wow.I see a lot of quilts cause of my dad and his partner but none like that.

  • Yes, truly not "just a quilt" but quilting as a fine art. A wonderful home filled with all sorts of wonderful art.

  • what did they use to "unveil" it? another quilt? haha im so good

  • You know, confession here: We came in as it was being unveiled, so I can't answer the question. But if you really want to know, I'm sure the answer is in some of her other videos.

  • I've been subscribed to Margaret for over a year now and my god what an awesome lady she is. I often think she's a 21 year old trapped in an old womans body. And boy does she know her art. This is one youtuber I would love to meet and have a chat with.

  • It was an amazing thing to finally meet her in person. And she is every bit as awesome in life as in her vlogs.

  • I believe that without question. I wish I could have been there. =]

  • Margaret is awesome! I am very jealous now :)

  • She is - I was very honored to have the invitation.

  • awesome stuff! o.o

  • Thanks!

  • "Ask the acorn" - LOL

Her art is impressive (no shocker there), and the explanation is perfect.

And that food spread is making me hungry!!

  • You know, I can tell it was a great happening because I pretty much ignored the food. Me, ignoring food (other than one bite of rum cake)? Yes, it was so amazing that I couldn't be bothered to sit and have a snack.

  • now that's a house with spirit and class, a total relavation of contridiction n.n

  • Spirit and class, yes, and filled with art 100%.

  • holy shit first view this was kinda random but also interesting!

  • Kind of like Tree herself... random and interesting!
