I grew up with Irish folk music but in my teens got rabbit in my feet and travelled a lot. I always looked for local folk in france germany canada and usa, it took a long time to realise that the first taste of folk music,by that I mean the Irish scene was by far the best of the bunch, with american folk , (dylan judy collins joan bz etc ,particularly west coast being a good second, dubliners fureys and many others , you wont get better folk music anywhere....

This song is played at the end of the fantastic 'Luke' video which tells his life story.I really like the part where he is rehearsing for Jesus Christ Superstar.I would have given anything to see him(and also Jim McCann)on stage and to see Luke as King Herod.I was fortunate to see him perform in London(at the Royal Albert Hall)in 1974 and about 3 times in Glasgow in the 70s and 80s.There has never been a performer who could lace his boots and yes I,too want this played at my funeral!!
