  • Phenominal vocal ability! This is a great lead singer.

  • God I miss the 80's so much!!! If someone invents a time machine, I'll take the fun ride back to the 80's!!! No questions ask!!!

  • Love the hairstyles!

  • IS THAT JOEY FROM EUROPE (THE BAND ) SINGING LOOKS LIKE HIM?????

  • @cookiesmusicbus es David Glen Eisley :D

  • @cookiesmusicbus FUCK NO HE WAS A TOTAL ASS_ CLOWN THIS IS DAVID GLENN EISLEY

  • love the drummer he's so cool.

  • Beautiful song...all these years later and his voice and that guitar solo still move me every time I hear them.

  • why do these videos always take place in a waerhouse with people driving forklifts? I've been a drummer in a band and worked in warehuses driving forklifts. I have never had either cross paths....

  • A hairstylist who specialized in weaves and extensions could have made a fortune in L.A. in the eighties.

  • Greg giuffria is not the singer he is the keyboardist

  • @pmurph1970 I want to just take a bite out of him. :)

  • @Standard999999 I so agree with both of you, The big hair band Could really Bring it. Scream, that is just pure trash......

  • FUCK VEVO!!

  • I love it...now my generation is saying today's music sucks, just like my parents thought this stuff sucked.

  • oh wow. powerful vocals. kinda resembles Steve Perry's voice. =D

  • @Rokkineve Greg Giuffria would have been a better choice than Arnel Pineda.

  • @jpb219 Isn't it funny how we are both thinking the exact same thing. I LOVE Journey, but don't care to ever see them again with Arnel as front man. Steve A was way better than Arnel. Now, this guy would have made a great front man. Glad to know someone else thinks this too.

  • this is awesome!!!!! love it!!! i miss this kinda music

  • Here-me-CALL-to-your-heart!!!

  • 3 thumbs up. Awesome tune.

  • A great '80's one-hit wonder!

  • one of my favorite songs.

  • no wonder there is no ozone left , hairspray attack ... great to hear this again though , happy times , thanks ..

  • Yes, this is the guy who did the song Sweet Freedom on Sponge Bob. His name is David Glenn Eisley!!

  • the guitarrist of this song is craig goldy?????????????

  • @DIOkingMetal Yeah......

  • I think today's musicians should grow big hair. For some reason, once big hair was gone, so was the talent.

  • @icspi1970 so the musicians are like Sampson ?

  • Very good song I have never heard it I like the hear cut of all very 80's

  • Too funny that David Glenn Eisley was singing songs for Spongebob Squarepants a number of years ago. He also appeared in a Brian Bosworth movie. Great song though.

  • @RedRaider15395 Is this the guy who did sweet freedom on spongebob? That is my all

    time favorite episode.

  • @redfly003 sweet victory....

  • @redfly003 sweet victory....

  • Real music is long gone.. The real bands and vocalists are now just memories, RIP Ronnie James Dio !!

  • Bought a compilation album of 80's hair metal bands and this tune was on it. I forgot how great a song it was, video's fruity but what 80's video wasn't?

  • It's a really powerful ballad..especially at the end....I feel this way about my Sharon...brutally taken away from us in March 99...RIP baby....You will be loved by me to the day I die.

  • Craig Goldy is the lead guitar player on the warlock. He also was in DIO!

  • Closest vocals to Steve Perry of anyone. Key Word: "Close". Still not Steve Perry though.

  • @icspi1970 I think his voice is better than Steve Perry. Unfortunately, the media didn't agree thinking there was too much artists trying to be Steve Perry. Too bad, I think him and this song rocks!!!

  • @icspi1970 ohh I see Im not the only one who think this. LOL

  • 4:45 She's tryin to hit him on his cell

  • god , it was so long ago...

  • The Original Soundtrack from GTA: Vice City Stories :')

  • He voice isn't as annoying as Steve Perrys though.

  • man just watching this feels like im getting transported back to the 80s love it

  • OK, I'm 33 years old (so I was kid during the MTV heyday). I never heard of this group until listening to Sirius Hair Nation (and I'm huge fan of the LA scene...the best band out of Seattle is Queensryche as far as I'm concerned). I'm so hooked on this song! Who can tell me about this group. BTW, is that Jeff "Skunk" Baxter (of Steely Dan and the Doobie Bros.) around 2:50 - 2:55 (the dude at the second table with glasses and sporting the beret and moustache)????

  • I normally don't do the girly hair, makeup, tight spandex suits and cheesy lyrics thing, but I can't stop fucking listening to this song. 80s rock ballads are my guilty pleasure.

  • When "Angel" met "Journey"...

  • Awesome, I remember this band from my childhood, the synthisizers, the guitars, the drums, the hair, oh my lord the HAIR!!!

    :)

  • This is one of my all time fav songs!♥

  • Pretty hair...nice tune guys.

  • Way to go Giuffria VETO!!! I love alot of your videos. And WOW to go back as far as Giuffria thats amazing. You brought back soooo many memories to me w/ a member from ANGEL. I LOVE IT!! Hope to hear and see more : )

  • And don't talk crap about the greatest musical invention of all time: AUTOTUNE

I has given us smash hits like ♫ Friday ♪ Friday ♫ Friday ♫ LOL

  • !!! Was that really Lionel Ritchie at 0:55 ?!!! hahaha WTF WTF WTFFFF?!?!?!

  • @SomeoneCommenting I don't think so.....his curls weren't quite right. :)

  • 1984-85 was such a huge year for music. This was a very good song, but it was overshadowed due to so many other great songs. If this had come out a few years earlier or later, it probably would have been a bigger hit.

  • Awesome song!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Woah, sounds close to Mr. Perry.

  • I still think it was Steve Perry singing this after 20 years!!!

  • @marathonguy999 your not the only one lol

  • Why do you have to bring down this band and compare them to another? Both have their own styles, and are both awesome

  • I can see why they only lasted a few years. Poison made better music.

  • Hell yeah, Lionel Ritchie @ :56 lol!

  • i owned this on 45 rpm when i was a kid,,wow i was a doooshbag..lol

  • These guys played at Kings island grad night in 1985. it was pretty epic. great times with great friends.

  • at 1:56....is Craig Goldy wearing a brace on his right wrist?

  • @frofro73 yes thats a brace. still played good

  • @ronjermy2 What do you mean by "still played good"?

  • OMG, takes me back to high school. Used to play this song over and over......

  • When this first got released, many peopel thought it was a new song by Journey. The GOOD news is that singer David Glenn Eisley will soon be entering the studo to record a new album, possibly teaming up again with Gregg Giuffria! So far, it is planned to be a DGE solo album, but who knows how it may evolve. Time will tell.

  • IT WAS PLAYED ON THE RADIO, QUITE A WHILE BACK BUT THEY PLAYED IT

  • So many of you are right! Back in the 80's was a great time and decade to live in. Concerts were unbelievable and affordable, I once saw RATT, Twisted Sister, Fastway and Mamas Boyz for $10 bucks!!! Man what a time it was back in those days!

  • Man, what I would give to have lived back then...

  • So many years since the last time i heard this :) very cool song!

  • So many years since the last time i heard this :) very cool song!

  • I miss this song a LOT. This takes a lot of us back to the days when all we had to do was stay out late, party all night and not give a damn about...well, anything. Also...that is the ugliest video model ever. I don't know why he's singing for her, he can do a LOT better. =)

  • @AngelsOfSilence666 Whut? I believe you have the wrong post. My post is complimentary. Please reply to a post you mean to before clicking.

  • Woooooohoooooooooo...back when guys looked like girls and we girls LOVED it. Bring back the tight, tight spandex, big hair and eyeliner. One hot band and one hot song. What a set of pipes on the frontman. I want it all back ; )

  • @LacyStockings when girls used tight jeans instead of training pants, wish i was born 30 jears ago

  • @frank14753 You have no idea how much fun that time was! It seemed like everyone got along, everybody dressed up to go out to clubs and hear a million dif bands. We had extra hour for the bars on Fri and Sat...they didn't close here in CT until 3AM. DUI was unheard of. Concerts were general admin and we partied our butts off inside the concert areanas. No trouble ever happened and life was sooooooooooooo good back then. Big bands even played little bars if in town. GOOD times ; )

  • @LacyStockings not fair!! :)

  • haven't seen the double keyboard since YES .

  • more like boston than bon jovi but everyband does a ballad for radio.nothing wrong with that. i don't think it was big in australia.

  • This is more gay than Anderson Cooper interviewing Freddie Mercury backstage at a Lady Gaga concert.

  • @attonposwalt well the video is anyway

  • always iked this the silver bracelet up on his arm is so sexy

  • always iked this

  • Awesome song from my younger days. Still get goose bumps when I hear it!!

  • Many of the band members are from Long Beach, MS. I bought Greg's (VERY) used Benz.

  • Why didn't chick just call him on his cellphone? Oh, wait......

  • This song is one of the many reason I will continue to subscribe to Sirius Radio. Love me some Hair Nation, Classic Vinyl, Classic Rewind and the many, many other rcok stations including the 70's and 80's stations. Today's singers all sound the same and they never ever make a mistake or note slip thanks to the wonderful electronics available to the masses today.

  • remake with modern sound? you mean like all of the crap out now? I don't want autotuned music/vocals, that's for all of the posers nowadays who can't play or sing. Why the music industry is dying a slow death.

  • Notice the Drummer..looks like John Rich's (The Celbrity Appentice) cover of his 7UP Retro soda can design

  • Needs a remake with modern sound.

  • @headalphafemale : Are you kidding?!, This song does not need to be remade, If they remake it, they'll just butcher it with obvious autotuned vocals, and synthesisers that fail to show Character.

  • @CRITTERBUSTERS I'm actually born in 1980

  • What happened to this band, man? The were a Journey type ballad band...they should've been BIGGER!

  • Played on the radio in Georgia video on MTV as well.

  • My favorite 80s Power ballad <3

  • Like hearing "Journey" or what? .-)

  • A classic!!!

  • I heard Greg is running some computer software company now.Oh well,I still love this song...good memories, good times!

  • I have been hearing this song a lot on Hair Nation 39 xm radio, like its so good!!!!

  • These guys give me hair envy!

  • Gregg and his band hit #15 in Billboard, 2-2-85. Actually, David Eisley sang, 'Call to YOUR heart.' God bless ya, for postin' it. Thanx! Have a great week.

  • Giuffria.....damn, I'd forgotten about these guys. So much good music from the 70's and '80's. I'm so thankful I didn't miss any of it!

  • SPONGEBOOB

  • he was always a good steve perry type singer. wish gregg never broke them up, but mca wasn't doing anything for them. i liked house of lords but wish dave was the singer. give me the 80's music over practically anything released today!

  • thank you sooo much I have been looking for this song for years

  • i rember the chick in the blue dress more then the song

  • very very very good !

  • Emotion 98.3

  • Craig Goldy's solo on this song is a testament that sometimes, less is more. A perfect compliment that doesn't overpower the melody of the song, rather it keeps it flowing nicely. This song flew under the radar compared to a lot of releases of the era but it stands the test of time nicely.

  • Great song, why this song is never played on the radio is beyond me, definitely a very underrated power ballad

  • @Doobie1975 ---The only way your hear it is on the special request shows....definitely my favorite ballad from the day,no doubt. If you broke up with a chick in 85,you cranked this song....I miss those days.

  • @DRpretorius39 I always thought this power ballad deserves to be up there with the great power ballads like Foreigner's "I Want To Know What Love Is", Whitesnake's "Is This Love", Poison's "Every Rose Has Its Thorn" and Journey's "Faithfully", instead this ballad seems to have fallen into obscurity, this song reminds me of a girl who I really liked and sadly me and her went separate ways and I would give anything in the world to have her back in my life again

  • @Doobie1975 --- I hear ya! I was in 9th grade when this came out and I was with this girl in Florida and I had to move back north and I would kill to have her back today.....

  • @Doobie1975 I couldn't agree with you more, that Giuffria was underated then and now. I remember when this song came out I thought is was Steve Perry. I believe that since thier sound is so close to Journey that they were not considered worthy, just my thoughts. Remember the group Zebra, three man band out of Canada, sounded very similar to Rush, they went by the wayside as well.

  • @billboze

    Zebra....from Long Island

  • @billboze Zebra was from New Orleans, for the record.

  • @eddieman45248 I think Zebra formed in New Orleans, but the lead singer is from Long Island? Any way I believe he lives there now.

  • @Vinvilland I Googled Randy Jackson and he was from New Orleans where Zebra was formed. They went North to Long Island to cut their teeth on the rock scene there. They were big into covering Zeppelin with Jackson's high vocal range.

  • @Doobie1975

Totally agree with you bro, underrated musicians like Craig Goldy, Lanny Cordola ,Chuck Wright and of course Gregg Guffria.

  • @Doobie1975

You are so right! Love this song....unsolved mystery!

  • @Doobie1975 That's what makes satellite radio so great. I hear these guys on Hair Nation all the time.

  • @JasonL77 I remember Big Tracks (now Classic Rewind) used to play this occasionally up until 2009.

  • @Doobie1975 Simple reason: Not a big smash hit. It was rarely on Radio when it was new!

  • @texs2007 I thought this song was a fairly big hit when it came out peaking at #15, there are some slightly lower charting hit songs of the 80s I still hear on the oldies stations today, I also think the classic rock stations should play this song cause it also went #3 on the Rock charts

  • @Doobie1975 Of course,it's hard to play on Radio when the record company hasn't re-released it on some sort of CD,like a best of or greatest hits deal.

  • @Doobie1975 if you have never heard this on the radio then you must live in an electronic free zone. it's one of the biggest hits of the 80s my friend.

  • @Doobie1975 Are you for real ? This song was played like crazy back in '84. It got in the US top20 I think back then. It was far from overlooked.

  • @DJohRicky I'm born in 1980 and don't remember any moment of my life prior to 1985, I didn't even know this song existed until I've seen it on some compilation album back in the late 1990s, I live in a small deserted town

  • @Doobie1975 - Heard this song the other day on Sirius Hair Nation. Love it just as much now as I did back then. Definitely takes me back.

  • Weird, the singer looks like David Lee Roth but sounds like Steve Perry

  • 80 decade

    forever

  • The 80's... a great decade! An era with lots of musical talents. Some were quite the phenomenom, others a mere flash in the pan. Still, ten years worth re-living from time to time thanks to YouTube.

  • Great song. Thank you for sharing.

  • @SuperPlectrist Chacka use this things to fight off sleestacks!! Lol

  • Comment removed

  • 70s:best decade in rock proggressive rock 80s:best decade in metal aor thrash etc

  • Today music sucks!!

  • Gregg Guiffria invented the music chips you hear in all the slot machines all over the world! He was a genius. Now he's a very rich genius!

  • Great 80's song

  • So this is the guy who sang Sweet Victory that was in Spongebob Squarepants hahahaha brilliant...

  • All time classic-not too late for them to reunite (wishful thinking)

  • Always thought the vocalist sounded just like Steve Perry from Journey..

  • @natureboy1972 You know, both my mom and my younger sister said the exact same thing. I just can't hear it for some reason...

  • I remember when this song came out. I was so in love with April, my high school sweetheart. My heart was broken when she moved to Florida. This song really hit the spot at that time. I wonder where she is now.

  • I love '80s music, but let's face it, this is horrible. This makes Beavis spit his soda out.

  • @pcmcguire18504 go listen to rap then..fag

  • @pcmcguire18504

This was 80s at its worst

  • @excelerater It wasn't that bad... Nuff z Nuff, Dangerous Tiys were bad!

  • @ruissman NELSON..........now that was bad!

  • david eisley could u still sing like this 25 years later

  • wow, talk about a forgotten oldie!

  • saw these guys open for foreigner 4.....80ish cant remember. not bad at all

  • definitely an underrated vocalist, has excellent range

  • get your forced ads out of here!

  • He's calling his mom?

  • Let's hear it for the 80's and the Big (really frickin' huge) Hair Bands.

  • Very good tune.

  • I wonder if Journey ever considered this singer as a Perry replacement.

  • 80s<3 synth sound gotta love it ! <3
