  • Food! Food! Food! Food! Food! ^^

  • Nice name.

  • I wish they weren't illigal to keep as pets, They are so beautiful and very very smart!

  • I'd love to have a pet Blue Jay. Right now I just feed a bunch of wild Blue Jays in my front yard every morning and throughout the day.

  • @p2proxtheworld Oh hun, Blue Jay and pet don't go in one sentence, ever. Blue Jays are wild birds, which means they are and will be afraid of you, no matter from how itty bitty on you raise him. They do not belong in a cage..that'd be cruel and against federal law. But they sure are beautiful, aren't they? Thanks for feeding them :). Mealworms are their favorite food by the way.

  • @MissDolittle Well, I guess what I meant was just raise one, etc. but I didn't know they weren't allowed as pets. I assumed all birds were able to be pets. I just think Blue Jays and birds are the cutest things, their fast movements and the way they move and tilt their heads. I just can't get very close to the birds I feed, so videos like this are quite cool to see them up-close. ' ' )

  • @MissDolittle ...raise as in a baby, not forever, if I found one hurt or abandoned, etc. But in any case, I doubt I'll ever be able to since it's apparently not allowed. BTW, why is it not allowed?

  • @MissDolittle Also, just realized you uploaded this video. So only authorized animal rescue places can raise Blue Jays, etc.?

  • @p2proxtheworld That's correct. A federal and state permit is necessary to help these birds. Since none of these folks get any funding from the gov, there aren't many out there. I'm in training and will hopefully get my federal permit this year.

  • @MissDolittle Excellent and noble work. They should get funding from the government. That's ridiculous, because it's for a good cause and necessary. Anyway, good info and good work with animals. Wish I had your job. ' ' )

  • @p2proxtheworld Thanks for the kudos lol! You can have that 'job' if you want to work 24/7, weekends and holidays and having to fundraise instead of getting paid in addition to it all, then by all means, apply for a permit! We need thousands of more rehabbers everywhere on this planet. And if you can't do it fulltime, find one in your area and help out. I have a wildlife-education website with a video documentary about wildlife rehabilitation including a page with info and links for each state
