@CelticMarauder69 That sounds about right. I got it five years ago, so I don't recall exactly. It has a nice woody, but not mushy tone, with moderate volume. It's great for sessions, esp. indoors where you don't want a loud whistle. If performing though, it usu. needs to be mic'd. I do not hesitate to recommend Busman whistles. Worth every penny.
@xxxNDRxxx LOL. It's 12/8 time, so each set of three eighth notes gets one beat - 1, 2, 3, 4. I'm really not that great a whistler. This one is remarkably easier to play than it sounds. I actually play it tad too fast for a slide here.
Dude you play mando WAY better'n me. I think you've got better command of the mouth harp too. Even tho I've been playing the darn thing for 37 years, I never really "practice" it enough to be any good.
great, although I wonder if a tad fast. I was talking to an Irish girl a few years ago and she said that Irish music seems to be getting faster and faster as if its a race to see how fast players can play. Her opinion was that it was now too fast. Not helped by Michael Flatley and his river dance stuff.
You have a valid point. In fact someone said to me last weekend, "Should a slide be played that fast?" It probably shouldn't. I agree with you and your Irish friend that traditional music is getting faster and faster. If one can't dance to it without passing out, it's too fast. Thanks for reminding me.
Well worth the effort. Rest assured that once you've got it, it will roll off the fingers quite easily! Not much in the way of awkward fingering (on whistle anyway).
Not hardly. I'm a bit slow on stringed instruments even though I've played mt. dulcimer for going on 20 years. My right hand/wrist is just to stiff. I kinda have tight, stiff joints all around. But thanks for the kudos man!
Isn't that whistle around $250? It sounds great!
