Used to be that some encoding expertise worked around the duration limitation - however YouTube recently changed the rules - now it's 10min max no matter what.
Thanks, we put alot into these E15M projects. Doing another in a few weeks. I heard Northgate just did theirs again - how did our video 2 years ago compare with this year's video?
i participated in my schools E15M and i balled so ard and the hardest parts for me where the letter writing anf having the parents write letters and seeing your friends die. but my school hasnt posted out e15m. but its a great program
I participated in Every 15 minutes. I was one of the kids that died... freaking made me ball like crazy at the after assembly when our parents had to write a letter like we were actually dead...
we do it every other year three days before Prom.. I remembered it happening my freshman year, so I was pretty pumped to participate when I was a Junior.
best program I;ve ever had the honor of being it, the best!
Thanks - what school? Maybe I could talk with them sometime about doing it in the future. I've got another one coming up this year - keep your eye out for it when it posts and enjoy. Should be good, as always we're doing new things in the project!
This one really hit home! I am the Mom of 5 beautiful children. Some of which are of legal drinking age and 1 that is a senior in high school this year! I hope that anyone out there watching this wakes up and pays attention to all that they do...don't make someone else pay for your mistakes!
Wow, you guys had so much goin for yah. Bet you had a lot more time than us. We had horrible actors half a week to shoot and edit prolouge and 12 hours to shoot and edit crash, hostpital and notifications. I also notive u had a boom and steady cam. Don't know why we didnt use ours, o wait i remember the administration f'd us and we had to time to plan anything. O dude you guy were allowed to go in the chopper not cool. They made me stand like 20 feet from the chopper.
i just watched the one done by my school in my health class today its not on youtube but after the video, it shows the students that died and they are in the gym talking to the shchool acting like they are dead and their parents are there and they each wrote a letter to their families saying like im sorry i never got to tell you how much i love you
We just had this stupid thing at my school, it's so boring and fake. The only thing I learned was to not let women drive because both of the drivers were women. <---True that.
Too bad your program wasn't realistic enough - that's why Guava works really hard to make things realistic.
We just completed another E15M project, "Every 15 Minutes Livermore-Granada High Schools" yesterday. The feature video should be posted on YouTube soon.
Thanks for posting this video. After being in EMS for a few years and seeing what you see its always good to see things like this to encourage teens not to drink and drive.
You are welcome. It's amazing how alcohol effects the choices we make - choices we would never have made when sober. You have learned what millions of people twice your age don't know! thanks
Our next E15M video is shooting in a couple weeks, should be posted by the end of May.
I'm a really strong believer in this program after they had it at my school, it really can saves lives, I seems like kids here took the whole scene thing more serious than kids at our school did, things like this really does happen, and I also like how the kid that wasn't planning on drinking at all became the drunk driver, goes to show u it really can happen to anyone.
I do not feel sympathy for people who get drunk then get into a car, then get killed, in fact i lol@them. Now if they were killed by a drunk driver, I have sympathy for them, but for people who are dumb enough to get into a car with a drunk, nope no symapthy.
The Galactic Cowboys sang all the songs. They were really cool to give special permission to use the songs for the scenes. I felt like the lyrics went perfect with the story line, etc. The first song is called "Easy to Love" from their Machine Fish CD. Lots of GC music available on iTunes!!!
I am doing this also at my school. I am the person with their legs pinned in the back seat. We are doing it on May 1st, 2008 and it's prom night themed. I saw it freshman year of my high school years and it totally opened up my eyes to how careful i need to be on the road. "Driving is the most dangerous thing we do everyday"... <<< that's what my dad HAS SAID TO ME FOR THE PAST 10 YEARS. Ity's helped me to be careful! Thanks DAD!
I am one of the victims in the accident, and the cameraman is the reason everything came out so perfectly. It was an amazing experience and it was all so real cause all the characters fit us as we are in real life. Every school should do this, life altering experience for sure.
I was in the accident, I am one of the four in the scene and it was the craziest experience of my life. Afterwards everything settled down and things went back to normal but for a week after i just didnt feel like myself. By the way...let me know if anyone needs an acting gig, i obviously got it covered
Good video all our school does is the accident part no video and they don't take the kids to the hospital or jail I just became a volunteer firefighter so i get to help this year

We had ours at College Park High School today! it was touching.. some lady fainted as it got too emotional for her (Due to an incident with drunk driver and her son). And they actually ended up really using one of the emergency vehicles to transport her.
I liked the helicopter part. we didn't have any video though, it just went straight to accident scene.
Yeah, they usually have paramedics there just for the crowd just in case. Too bad you guys missed out on the video part! At least you got to watch this one~
I go to College Park as well. I did see the presentation and I was touched, but ironically, there was this one jerk who was giggling and snickering throughout the whole show, which I got emotionally frustrated. Even the second day, the same thing happened. Anyway, I did bring a camera to film it, but even more ironically, my friend told me not to film it because of someone selling the DVDs to this, but I didn't know what he meant and I also got to sit next to him the next day.

this is my high school and my classmates. i never actually saw it because the previous year i actually lost a good friend to a drunk driving accident so i decided not too go cuz it would be too much for me. im proud of my classmates though. yay seyi and lissy you rocked
awesome video.... My school is doing that this april... but at least this time they told us it was a set up... when my brother went to my school, they didnt say it was fake, and everyone flipped out....
That was so awesome. This should help kids see the reality of drinking and driving. Amazing 4 angle view of people and what really happens after an accident.
thanks. the 4-angle simultaneous scenes were necessary to keep the video length down. as you saw in the last half of the video, each scene was packed full of action - impossible to catch everything in only one or two views. On that note, I must say that all the professionals were completely cooperative and very supportive to our realistic scenes approach.
Yes they are taken to the Police Station and held until their parents arrive. As you saw in the video towards the end, it's very impacting for all involved.....including the cameraman!
Not in this video. Some videos show photos of actual victims at the end. This video shows the kids that were "the living dead" in the program (they're the pale-faced kids wearing black that unveiled the crashed cars at the accident scene.
Gaither HS in Tampa, FL, my nearest metropolis, did this last year. I want Jefferson HS, my school in the same city, to do so likewise in the 2008 prom season.
thanks sara. i wanted a realistic storyline that lets us get to know each character so their choices are more believeable. the result is more impact at the crash scene, etc. the students were awesome as well, some of the scenes STILL mess me up when I see them.
