This reminds me of a girl. A girl I met a few weeks ago. She's exactly like me. How her mind works, how she sees the world. We both share the same interests. I fell in love with her.
Amazing song. Why doesn't this have more plays tho? and why is death cab always nominated for the same category for the grammys. No album of the year? not even song of the year for "You are a tourist". Wow. Can't wait for the next album. I hope they always keep making music
They're older, and happier. Also, this is a *new* album; you wouldn't ask a painter to keep painting the same picture would you? Let them grow, as you have.
This video is most popular with males that are 25-34. It would be pretty awkward for me, a 14 year old guy, going to a Death Cab concert and being probably the only one my age, but I love this band and theyre not gonna be around forever. Come to Boston Death Cab!!(:
@coortiz1 im 42, dcfc is one of my favorites, and i dont care how old you are. any age can appreciate GOOD music. there is so little of it out there nowdays. glad you have your head on straight
@coortiz1 Hey, I'm 15 and I went to one of their concerts. Yeah, you're going to be one of the younger ones there, but you aren't going to be the only one in your age group. Just bring a friend (or two, or three, or as many as you can stuff in a car) and you'll be fine. Trust me, it's not something you want to miss. :)
Okay, it's like this... I'm a huge Slayer/Pantera type dude, and I'm 30... This is MUSIC. Absolutely unbelievably amazing. I used to avoid DCFC for no good reason. If you have any idea of what it takes to make good music I promise you will love this band and come to your senses like I did...
didnt like some of the songs on this album at first(no clue why), but like with some of their albums, the more i listen to them, the more i like them. i love everything theyve done
This is what happens when DCFC are firing on all cylinders. The melody is amazing, the rhythm section is tight and punchy, and that chorus hook is one of the band's catchiest yet. This is an instant classic.
I totally agree with @WithLoveFromKay Its a great album, and I am a dcfc fan.. To the bone. They've stuck to their roots - Making music regardless of what it's "supposed" to sound like
I think this album is great! I don't think they could ever really disappoint me. I love them too much to dislike an album. Yes it's different but still wonderful. It takes a few times listening through the album to adjust to the new sound but then it's love as usual. My favorite band of all time. :)
It isn't about change or "something new". I'm all for artists progressing and moving forward and changing their sound... but if you move in the wrong direction, or move in a blatantly obvious backwards trajectory in terms of musical complexity or taste, then it just simply sucks. This album simply sucks. It's shit. Gone are the Facts/Photo/Trans days... even Narrow Stairs is infinitely better than Codes and Keys. For the record, I think every member of the band has gotten better except Ben.
@tehJESSEH See, I get what you're saying, but I just have to disagree, because I think they changed, definitely, but the song is not bad. I sadly haven't heard any others from this album, but as for this song, I like the new DCFC.
What are you talking about? This song has every element of a great DCFC song - dark lyrics (it's about a grizzly car wreck for chrissakes), sweet melody, awesome rhythm ... how can you be a fan and not love this one?
so many dcfc fans are disliking codes and keys but to be honest i think its kinda nice to hear something new, after all we all change and grow up. their lives are looking up and this is why their album is so upbeat. if i'm feelin mellow i'll listen to their old albums and when i'm feeling content i reach for codes and keys
@WithLoveFromKay Most of the people disliking it don't understand how much DCFC has changed from their roots. You Play These Songs with Chords (an LP Ben Gibbard made as a solo project then later released with DCFC) is my favorite and it sounds vastly different than Codes and Keys, Narrow Stairs, etc. The thing is most people began listening to DCFC when Plans came out and that was another musical change. If people would just listen to everything they have to offer :/
last night there was a horrible storm in ottawa ontario. the main stage collapsed there were injuries. everyone was evacuated. death cab was supposed to play at 9:30. The storm hit at 7 ish. My night was ruined.. now i'm listening to this song and i want to cry so bad.
@WithLoveFromKay That sucks so bad. Do you follow their twitter? @dcfc Nick said "Thanks to all the great fans here in Ottawa for understanding how sad and scary today was... We will be back, we will figure out a way."
Yeah I saw ben's twitter, he said they'll be back as soon as its possible on their schedules but who knows when that will be :( i'm happy they are safe though. i'm not so happy with mother nature though.
It's just as freakamazing as anything and everything else they've done. and I'll still be listening to them when they're 96. yeah. can't wait for them to come to houston!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Death Cab reminds me so much of Andrew from Chronicle, especially this song. Amazing.

Dear fans who are bitching about it being to happy: Gibbard or whoever and Zooey are divorcing so... look for depressing shit soon, I guess.

I hope the next album is less cheery, Gibbard writes way better songs when he sounds depressed.
