  • @MG06ZT She was certainly running smoothly that day Keith...Thanks for watching....Bob

  • excellent Bob

that pending the king had to overcome!

    greeting

    gus

  • @argenvia Thank you Gus, I am pleased you enjoyed it...Bob

  • brilliant vid - a real sense of climbing the grade

  • @willhayfield Thanks very much for your generous comments...Bob

  • Nice work Bob as always and good not to see a nasty diesel strapped to the rear!

  • @simonpilk Thanks again Simon, your support is appreciated as always....Bob

  • Hi Bob, just viewed this after sending you the last message and I see what you mean about use of telephoto and HD quality. This is a super video, good position, use of telephoto for dramatic effect and of course the loco itself, nice and crisp. Thanks for sharing! Ken

  • @kenbrowne1947 Thanks Ken, that's very kind of you to say so, and greatly appreciated...Bob

  • Great video Bob. I had been sorely tempted to pop down with the chance of two steam locos within ten miinutes of each other and then the King again outside Shrewsbury on the way home. Presumably you were on the station footbridge - not too familiar with the layout but that seemed a possibility from Google Earth. Chris

  • @khankadet I was on the station footbridge Chris as unfortunately the end of the platform where I've filmed from previously has been obliterated by high fencing. There is also a road bridge behind me that can also be used...Thanks for your comments...Bob

  • Great video Bob.

    Very nice steam train.

  • @WoelkerVideo Thank you Gunter, these were the most powerful locomotives on the Great Western Railway....Bob

  • Nice video Bob. Many years since I've been to Severn Tunnel Junction and the layout has changed a lot. I saw the King pass through there in 1995 and as it came up out of the Tunnel it crossed to the right hand side of the station. It looks better now that it runs straight through the station. Keith

  • @hemerdonbank They took out the cross over last year Keith as part of preparing for the electrification of the South Wales Main Line....Thanks for your kind comments....Bob

  • Bob beautiful video. Your camera to zoom to a high standard. Regards.

    Philippe

  • @PhilbruProduction Merci encore une fois Philippe, il y avait beaucoup de gens marchant le long de la Brige, et qui a causé le pont à vibrer .... Bob

  • Yet another cracker, Bob, thanks. Can't wait to see Edward the 'Blue Engine' out on the network!

  • @veryhappychappy12 The bark on a single chimney King will certainly be something to savour.....should be a great sight and sound....Bob

  • Very very very very nice video Bob. Thanks for sharing. Gian ;-) Thumbs UP, very UP

  • @FerrovieInRete Grazie mille Gian, sei molto gentile ... Bob

  • @robmasterman Thanks to you BOB. Ciao!!!

  • super vid bob must of been rally hot that day thanks for posting

    nick

  • @nickladey There was a brisk cool Westerly wind Nick, and the sunshine was followed by some torrential rain....Bob

  • Super clip Bob. Great to KE1 hard at work. It looked like a film from a bygone age. Great stuff. Cheers, Jeff.

  • @bobnweaver Thanks Jeff, she was in fine fettle, and always a joy to see....unfortunately a friends party in the afternoon so limited to film...Bob

  • fantastic video bob that steamer seems to be wasting no time got a very good shoot from the footbridge

    Adam

  • @1adamstephen Thanks Adam, a long way to go for one shot, but I enjoyed seeing it again...Bob

  • Stunning shot Bob, and you had nice weather!!

    Si

  • @SteamingYorkshire Thanks Si, the heavens opened up an hour later, so lucky for this shot......Bob

  • Superb video there Bob. Looking very nice climbing the gradient into the station.

    Thanks for Sharing!

  • @stuvids Thanks Stu, I was unable to use the platform as they've put up these fences everywhere......Bob

  • Great video Bob. 5* 47500 which worked this train to Bristol Parkway was used to rescue Tangmere. Great pity.

  • @AN21files Indeed, and unfortunately I didn't have the time for the 47 and Tangmere to pass through....Thanks again...Bob

  • Fideo gwych arall! Gret! Wedi cal y King ar ei orau! Just goes to show you cant beat the Western engines! They know how to haul! Sion

  • @welydiawl Diolch yn fawr Sion, it was in the capable hands of Driver Ray Churchill, a master of his trade....Bob

  • @robmasterman Very good! Well done Driver! See you soon at the Gwili! Sion

  • @welydiawl Look forward to it Sion......Bob

  • Very nice footage. King Ted going well. I am sorry to hear that Tangmere had trouble again.

  • @bkendlerA4 Things are going wrong all over, The Duke failed today....Bob

  • Bob, A great shot and I am sure that you would have been disappointed that the Southerner failed to turn up. Thank you for complimenting my video showing what a great day this was for all who had the fortune to see this wonderful locomotive. Regards, John

  • @molzips Thanks John, I was originally bound for Llanfihangel, but decided to wait for Tanmere...wrong decision!......Bob

  • Super movie Bob. Very fantastic steamtrain and very great location....

    ... Günter

  • @WoelkerVideo Thank you Gunter....Bob

  • Nice use of the zoom there Bob, giving the impression that you were at ground level. Shame about the failure but these happen. Keith

  • @MonochromeLoco Thanks Keith, people kept walking behind me and when on full zoom the slightest shake is exaggerated......Bob

  • I would've been with the support crew that day but I chose to see tangmere aswell, when I heard it was going to be 2 hours late I was starting to regret the fact that I didn't choose to go with them lol

  • @60163JOSH You should have come to say hello Josh.....Thanks for watching....Bob

  • I remember seeing you there

  • Nice Video of 6024 Rob!

Me myself decided to head to London yesterday for the VSOE to/from Deal near Folkstone.

Also in the morning caught 90020 towing 90028 + Sleepers from Euston - Wembley!!

    Keep up the Great Videos!!

  • @moxon2313 Thanks Dave, hope you had a great day as well....Bob

  • Nice to see a steam special without a diesel. Going well unaided with 12 on to. Nice one Bob....Tim.

  • @siobhan104 Well within its capabilities Tim...Thanks as always...Bob

  • Great shot Bob. I'm hoping to catch her power back through the tunnel towards Bristol in october I think it is, the sound of a King echoing through and out the tunnel, a sound I'm sure can't be beaten! Great upload. Will.

  • @1Z88 Thanks Will, she's certainly in top form at the moment...Bob

  • Fantastic shot at Severn Tunnel Junction!

  • @trainfart Thanks very much...greatly appreciated...Bob

  • wonderful, must have been quite windy, cheers.

  • @noelist It was a bit Leon, and people passing behind me on the footbridge didn't help when on the long zoom setting....Bob

  • Great powerful shot Bob, excellent use of the zoom. The timekeeping was certainly impressive as when I saw her later she was bang on time too. The great Ray Churchill was driving I believe

  • @acw71000 Thanks Austin, I'm delighted to find out who was driving as it explains the quality of the performance and time keeping....Bob

  • Once again an excellent image capture. Well done Bob .... Certainly I do not know too much about the trains ... course from early age, I loved the miniature trains, and always I watched in intersections, any train who happened to pass.....

So, in any your own video the comment that I can give is the excellent picture, taking for me is very professional !!!

    Thank you Bob..

    Simos :)

  • @KAPNIZW Σας ευχαριστώ Σίμο για τα ευγενικά σχόλιά σας, η οποία εκτιμώ πάρα πολύ .... Bob

  • nice to see you had some nice sunny spells on your side of the channel. Its unusaul seeing 6024 haul a rake of green Mark IIs, better start sorting them coaches out Mr. Bunker!

  • @GreatWestern175 Considering the wonderful rakes currently available, we always seem to get this one down here Ry...more suited to Tangmere I feel.....Thanks again...Bob

  • That really was a cracking long shot, terrific zoom you have, you seemed to zoom back out for ages, I couldn't see where the train came from in the end.. LOL

How do you always know where to position yourself? you always seem to get in great spots, you must surely do your groundwork first I imagine..?

Anyway long and short of it is, another cracking Masterman Production - 10/10 :-)

  • @Bevoin1970 Tanks Mr Bevan, I've known the locations for over 40 years Paul, the problem these days as at Severn Tunnel, they've even put fencing up at the end of the platforms, so it gets increasingly difficult to find somewhere to film....Bob

  • Nice clip Bob. Shame about "Tangmere" but it looked quite a nice day for a trip out in South Wales. :-) Mike

  • @NN2Blue Thanks Mike, you need good weather to film at ST Jnc, but after an hour waiting for Tangmere, the clouds built up and there was torrential rain, so I gave up...Must be getting soft!...Bob

  • another great video bob .I was there on the platform. I went there to film tangmere but i belive it failed at filton bank ,which was a real shame

  • @lennze1 I went there to film both, but had I not stayed too long to film Tangmere I would have had the King on the N&West route...Thanks again....Bob

  • Great video Bob, looks like quite a climb. Roger

  • @salopia The climb is quite steep coming up into the Welsh side Roger, and thanks to modern equipment we can see things previously too far....Thanks as always.....Bob

  • Superb video. The King looks stunning in the sunshine.

  • @cmeonthemove Despite the drain cock leak, it performed faultlessly....Bob

  • Ah what a great sight. Awesome.

  • @eurodestination Thanks Gary, a long way up, but worth it...Bob

  • Very good video Bob Love the location

  • @pwalpar This was once the main Marshalling Yard in South Wales Walter, with large yards either side of the main line, and a large motive power depot...all gone now.....Bob

  • great catch there Bob the old girl was just a puffing and puffing

  • @canvids1 Bit like me these days Wayne...lol...Thanks for watching....Bob

  • I was on the Cathedrals today .Pure application of the power of the King .The driver was the Master .Humble uploads to come .Absolute magic day .Cheers.

  • @magic1ond She was in fine fettle and you must have had a superb day out behind her on a very scenic and demanding route....Thanks for watching...Bob

  • There is nothing equal to the power of a good looking Steam Locomotive. One great video :-)

  • @MrCraig1930 Thanks very much, you're very kind...Bob

  • @stephengthompson It is a fair pull out of the tunnel Steve, although exaggerated by the long zoom...Thanks as always....Bob

  • Top job sir ;)

  • @HSTHoward Thank you once again for your support Howard...Bob

  • Nice video bob. Funny i was at STJ today but on the road bridge for a change. lovely shot oyu got. it was a shame that 34067 Tangmere had failed on filton bank i heared, as i was looking forward in filming her.

  • @GJDobbzy Thanks Gareth, I went there to film both locos within five minutes, and then off to Llanfihangel for another of the King, but Tangmere's failure brought an end to the day...Bob

  • @robmasterman funny that was where i was off to well near ther i made it after when i heared. jump in the car quick as i could and took the shrt cuts i know arround the areas. managed it with like 5 mins to spare, thanks to JBTEvans telling hwen it goes past in at ponthir and luck be with me as it was like 30 mins late leaving newport area.

  • @GJDobbzy Great stuff Gareth, I'm getting too old for such things these days, and leave all that stress to you younger people...:o)....Bob

  • 34067 Tangmere failed at Filton Banl and a loco had to be scrambled from Bristol TM to rescue it. It did mange to get to cardiff very late, seemed to have failed again this afternoon i heard.

Aparantly the loco couldnt get enough power to haul the train up the bank.

Did cause some disruption i will be glad when network rail install another set of tracks up filton bank

  • @veolia215 Thanks Anthony for that update, it's such a shame, as these events tend to have a detrimental affect on future tours...Bob

  • @robmasterman here is a video of it stalled on the filton bank

  • @veolia215 You need to Email me the link Anthony....Bob

  • Great Bob. I like your location there - had everything! . . . . Alan

  • @balmesh It was a little shaky on the footbridge causing some movement on full zoom, but quite pleased with the results...Thanks again Alan....Bob

  • Brilliant shot, the sound is great!

  • @BritishTrainVideos Thank you for watching and your kind comments...Bob

  • A wonderful site to see.

  • @penninefilms Thanks very much ....it certainly was...Bob

  • That gradient is something, looks a very steep climb, King Edward looks a Great Loco,

    exellent vidio Bob.

  • @howarth004 It's a fair pull out of the tunnel Dave, all of which looks steeper with the long telephoto lens...Bob

  • @robmasterman It certainly works well, I ordered the panasonic tm900 from camerabox on wednesday , they took my money , then on Friday said that on security check my order was cancelled, and they had my money, still waiting for thepromised re-fund. then I sahll go to Amazon one I can trust, But what I was going to say was after seeing your video`s Bob it was time to buy myself a decent camcorder.

    You have a good one

    dave

  • @howarth004 Great news Dave I have sent you a separate message...Bob

  • Lovely video. The zooming in really augments the gradient in the line coming up from the tunnel. It's kind of frustrating to have two specials to film and you travel quite far for them and only one shows up!

  • @JPMiller14 It certainly was Justin, and I totally agree with your comments, thank goodness it was the King that came through...Bob

  • Excellent footage Bob, King Edward looked to make easy work of the incline in the shining sun.

    Regards Phil.

  • @981smithy She certainly looked the part, I wanted to hear it pull up Lllanfihangel, but had to return home...Bob

  • and only a week ago it was causing line side fires

    nice 1

  • @5029tom Thanks very much for watching, and your interesting comments...Bob

  • Brilliant Bob,it was a shame about Tangmere. At least we did get one steam engine.Nice to have meet you again,(C&A)

  • @EMuksteam Hope you've warmed up A...it was a very pleasant morning, and thanks to you both for your company....Bob

  • A lovely shot Bob,she looks and sounds great.Chris

  • @wooltman Apart from the cylinder drain cock stuck open Chris, she did sound superb...Bob

  • @wooltman Apart from the cylinder drain cock stuck open Chris, she did sound superb...Bob

  • Lovely Video, Bob. Looking forward to seeing the King Tomorrow, without being dragged by a Diesel.

  • Another excellent video Bob. Any ideas what the problem is with 34067? She smoked out the two places I went to and seemed fine.

  • @NwsNoaaChaser I'm afraid not James, all I know is that it failed on the climb out of Bristol and was towed over two hours late by 47500 to Cardiff...Bob

  • Nice one Bob.

  • @churchward82c Thanks Nigel, I was going to film it again later but the delay to Tangmere prevented it...Bob

  • Nice 0ne Bob..........:-O)

  • @locomotive67 Thanks very much....Bob
