@yuke15 i have held catfish i go catfishing all the time my grandpa got me hooked on it. they don't always fold down. if the catfish is in trouble we will keep the straight out no matter what direction. i have had to go to there hospital a few times from a catfish poked through my hand. i have forced them down before while filleting one which always results in the bone breaking. so no they don't always easily fold down. i currently have a ten in channel cat as a pet.

thats a cottonmouth,everyone thinks its a copperhead,look at the pattern on the ventral(bottom)scales,thats the patter unique to the cottonmouth,and that snake will have no problem eating the fish,if he caught a grouper or carp or something like that,then it would be a problem,but he'll have no problem eating a catfish,its a northern cotton mouth,look up its picture,but that is a realy big one,usauly there about 3 foot,thats like a snake version of bigfoot,educate yourself,you wont be sad u did.
