The iMac did away with the floppy drive. The iPod is the new juke box. The iPhone gave us touch and gesture. The MacBook Air is the wireless of the tomorrow. In the near future, we will have self powered notebook and no longer have the need for the power cord.

Just to let you, I have the first generation iPod at 10GB, an iPod mini, and a 60GB video iPod. I uses all three, and none have given me any problems, honestly. My 1st iPod still have the original manufactured battery and the mini is on my iHome alarm clock. I watch video my video iPod especially on long trip with the Belkin Tunebase FM transmitter.
I have over 80 muisic videos, movies, TV shows and podcasts on the video iPod. Put them in a play list of my own making and on a long drive after some music, I enjoy a show here and there. The Belkin Tunebase hold up my IPod at any angle and the sound was just phenomenal on the right station. From NC 2 Florida, no interruption until in Miami-Dade County.

The Macbook Air is in the Ultra-portable category which has an average price of $2000 and normally there is no optical drive. Apple's Macbook Air is actually 200-400 dollars under priced since it has better specs than the $2000 ultra-portables(only 1.2 ghz, 512MB RAM).
Some people like to buy unique and interesting gadgets like these. I personally tried one out at Macworld 2 days ago and it's an incredible little device.
Although I do want one, I would rather go with a Macbook or Macbook Pro, but there are actually people that would buy the Macbook Air.
The only reason this is that thin is because there is no optical drive. Dell and the other major computer hardware developers would have made this laptop a long time ago if it were not for the optical drive. Apple sucks. Sell to microsoft already and get it over with.

The Macbook and Macbook Air are in two different categories. The Macbook Air is in the ultra-portable laptop group which has an average pricing range of $2000. Sony's even has one that starts at $2999.

Although I do want one, I would rather go with a Macbook or Macbook Pro, but there are actually people that would buy the Macbook Air.

The only reason this is that thin is because there is no optical drive. Dell and the other major computer hardware developers would have made this laptop a long time ago if it were not for the optical drive. Apple sucks. Sell to microsoft already and get it over with.

I can't remember the last time i "had" to use my cd drive!!!!! Not my taste though, i need 15in real estate to get anything. P.S. yes i do have a mac.

Well he was spot on the money about the air. I just got an email from apple about it. I hated the guided tour. The guy seemd too smug about the computer not having a built in optical drive. Do you have any idea how much of a headache it'l be? Most of the computers I have are macs spaced 7 ers apart in age. They cant reasonibly assume I can wirelessly access the optical drive in my imac from an air.

The Macbook and Macbook Air are in two different categories. The Macbook Air is in the ultra-portable laptop group which has an average pricing range of $2000. Sony's even has one that starts at $2999.

Apple continues to cheapen its image, 'air' was already used as a popular trademark, just as 'Apple' also was.
Job's and co influenced heavily by mass media, so heavily, they can't come up with any original names.
