for future referance how would i extrace the dvd key and put it on a brand new drive , for when my lazer dies and i just get a new drive for replacement??

I made a probe based on yaywoop tutorial. If i power the drive from the xbox , when i insert the probe , should i remove the power cord from drive or not?
