  • so will you.

  • This is a truely Funny stuff! There is tryely force in it:)

  • Thanks for posting that guys. I feel a little embarressed (being based in the UK) that the quality of both the picture and the questions weren't a little better (most of the questions are answered on your site or Wikipedia) but all the same it is great that you did it and were prepared to post it. I'm a big fan of the series and I'm eagerly waiting the new series. Congrats on the Lucas award! Well deserved.

  • thanks for posting this fellas. Chad Vader and Blamesociety films are awesome, i hope the get a good network deal that won't stifle them!

    good job

  • im infected with rolphing!

  • you guys are an inspiration!

  • A Doctor Who fan eh? You'll love this years series when it arrives there.

  • Hey love the chad vader series, cant wait for season 2. Spreading this around my uni, although apparently many more know about it (i go to uni in sheffield)

  • Quick question. Where in the Star Wars universe does Earth fit in? lol

  • far far in the future ...

in a galaxy very near to you ...

  • They avoid the mention of earth. The far far away intro is a refrence to old fairy tales that start in a similair manner. Trying to fit Earth into the SW universe would take focus off of the present story and they have to dedicate time to explaining the timeline of the galaxy. It's kind of hinted that it takes place in this glaxy, but far in the future. They have Humans present, so that's a dead give away.

  • k, thx

  • What? Where is it "hinted that it takes place in this glaxy, but far in the future"? And how the Hell do you get that from "A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away"? And having humanoids present doesn't make it "a dead give away".

  • Firstly, I would spell correctly before trying to piss on someone. Secondly, it is not overtly alluded to, it's more subtle in the films and expanded universe. Lucas also has been cute with the facts of his creation. I don't know if he's trying to do the artistic thing and leave the conjecture up to the audience, or just being lazy. I think it's a bit of both columns.

  • "Firstly, I would spell correctly before trying to piss on someone." Actually, no you wouldn't - the only misspelled word in my post was "glaxy" which was quoted directly from yours. Plus, "give away" should have been one word (giveaway), and that was, again your mistake.

  • . Also, if you follow his takes on classic tales and folklore, he gives himself breathing room to say it is literally the past or the future of this galaxy. If you look at the overt influences this old tales have played in the saga, it's not too far to believe that he copied the same formula to tell a future tale. He's made allusions to this kind of storytelling in commentaries and specials.

  • . In particular, is his use of plot devices to get him out of a fixed spot, such as the reference in ESB of "another", Leia's "recollection" of her mother, or his laziness in explaining the appearance of the Death Star in ROTS. Lucas is notorious for trying to force fit things to make a connection, such as the dropped connection of a young Han Solo helping Yoda and the Wookies . Only Sam Raimi is more blatant about it, such as the Sand Man connection to Ben Parker in Spiderman 3.

  • Also, none of what you're saying supports your thesis that "it takes place in this glaxy (sic), but far in the future". There's only one reason I can see for people shoehorning that concept into something that is explicitly stated to occur "a long time ago and in a galaxy far, far away". And that's if their religion claims the universe is only 6000 years old and Earth is the most crucial planet. Either way, the text doesn't support it.

  • If you follow the follow the substance, the quotes, and half assed nature of Lucas as he tried to tie the two trilogies, you would see it. The fans that take it literally are the ones that have turned the films into the Star Trek. They totally ruin the fun by breaking everything into a God damn science project. Once you start getting into the practicality of a lightsaber or the force, you have totally missed the point. It's supposed to be a futuristic theme take on very old tales.

  • I did spot my errors, silly cunt... Also, you're still missing the point. Lucas has a history of paying tribute to source material and other works, such as the Godfather baptism scene, or the Flash Gordon serials. Many of the same elements are almost directly translated into the saga. The opening scroll is the most glaring example. I used to take the intro as being literal, until I got used the bullshit Lucas employs as a borrower of classic myths.

  • For goodness sake just quit it. To answer the original question Earth doesn't fit in. Chad Vader creates its own universe in which Darth has a brother called Chad. The CV universe is a different take on the whole thing that sets the SW Universe around us&makes up its own interactions between Earth and the SW Universe. IT IS A STORY, a comedy and it makes its own rules. If you're going to have an argument about Star Wars go&have it elsewhere, it has nothing to do with this video...

  • Constructive and mature. Congratulations on your witty and incisive use of the English language. I suspect you are very proud of your coherant and complex rebute. Your constructive contribution to the debate is noted and I'm sure the underlying tone will not be lost on anyone. Fascinating, absolutely fascinating.

  • Wow, congrats on winning "George Lucas Selects..."

  • go Doctor WHO!, and CHAD VADER!

  • Halo blamesociety! I love chad vader. I can't wait for season 2. GET TO WORK! just kidding, take your time, make it good.

  • NIIIICEEE

  • I LOVE DOCTOR WHO TOO! IM A HUGE FAN OF IT

  • Hmmm now that's an idea. PeaceSoldier is right. maybe as a story arch Chad could move on and go to a university. Maybe whenever the story starts to get slow you guys could just change the setting. I like the market though! Just a suggestion for later. Say you guys play out a lot of the more nteresting angle of the market, then just change the setting.

  • you guys are absolutely great! I hope you read this: I've beeen taliking with a couple of friends who told me that it would be cool if you guys made a chad vader at school series with all sort of force used randomly...Anyway whatever video comes out first I hope it's quick I can't wait :D

ht*p:/ blamesociety (dot) net / forum

  • Im frm the UK =] I no that i love Chad Vader, i got the t-shirt =]

  • Great Stuff I really Enjoyed This And Glad There Are More Series Coming

  • Aaron has a fiance? I thought Matt and him were a couple. They sure looked like one the way the sit so close together on that couch during interviews. Anyways, I enjoyed the Chad Vader videos. Super Shooter was so so.

  • lol

  • Wow...haha...no. Courtney and Aaron are together, and Tona and Matt are together.

  • Turd tappers get "girlfriends" and even wives sometimes to pretend to be straight. This is especially common in the arts. These two really seem like a couple the way they interact. Anyway, it's not a big deal....they make funny short movies. I recently saw the Fun Rangers trillogy. Funny stuff!

  • they could be childhood friends or something

  • We sit close together because it makes for a tighter shot, so you can see our faces a little better.

I don't tap turds. We are not butt buddies, ass masters, or fuckfriends. We do not pack each other's fudge. The only flap 'n' slap you'll find in our relationship is when Matt's flapping his gums and I slap him. We live on a street with no curves and all the manholes are covered. There's no milk in our chocolate. Get it?

    --Aaron

  • I'm not clear on what you're trying to say. Can you stop being so vague and beating around the bush?

  • I only beat around the bush...

  • You mean you've never taken a walk on the brown side? LOL =P

  • I have a question. how does one get more than 10 minutes on you tube?

  • Get a Director's Account. You have to pay for those though...

  • A director's acount is free. It doesnt come with the ability to upload longer videos though. I think the youtube guys give you that once you get enough subscribers and when theyre sure you're not uploading copyrighted material.

  • Ah, I didn't know that. It's not really mentioned anywhere (about it being paid or not), so I guess I jumped to conclusions too quickly.

    Thanks anyway.

  • Yeah i know, theyre not very clear on this.

  • Director accounts used to have the ability to upload videos longer than 10 minutes. I suspect the blamesocietyfilms account is grandfathered. I haven't seen any greater-than-10-minute videos posted by Director accounts created after the rules change (beginning of April '07, I believe).

In any case, it would be nice if YouTube were a bit more honest -- the documentation claims "there is a 10-minute length limit for all videos".

Aaron and Matt, nice Q&A, and care to comment on this?

  • Awesome. I'm from the UK! ooopps...

  • Now that looked like a lot of fun. Excellent video.

How are you guys doing the banner above your video description?
