If you are using an emulator just set LK, HP, HK to the same button . Example,originally LP MP HP is "a","s","d" LK,MK,HK is "z","x","c" on my keyboard.
Just change it to LP MP HP is "a","s","z" LK MK HK is "z","x","z", then you can just press "z" to select Akuma. and change the buttons back when playing.
@gonholiday Lock-up issues are almost exclusively a fault of the keyboard. Try either setting a hotkey (if your emulator supports it) or using a pad. I can verify that this code works on the 3.0 version (Euro and USA regions) and the game and the version 2.0 (Asia region), and that no special modes are needed. I don't believe that it works on the 1.0 Japan release.
What I really want to know is : how to select bosses and anita in marvel super heroes arcade. It's the same code on EVERY websites, but it doesn't work. And nobody seems to have make it work too.

It doesn't work, or at least not in my Kawaks.
When press LK+HP+HK, it locks doesn't pick.
To make the trick is necessary an specific country or region arcade board?
