As much as I appreciate the additional work that went into Second Evolution, I like the original artworks a LOT better than these. Rena looked so much cuter in them than she does here.

And thats the problem: In this version they all look like they are 12.

@DEADREAPERGRIM It was originally a sequel on the PS1, however, Square-Enix decided to re-make the first two Star Oceans on the PSP, this one being the second, the first re-make was called Star Ocean - First Departure.

Only reason star ocean ex sucked, is because they didn't make a second season where they go to Energy Nede. (It was made into a drama CD).

Although I think the art style of EX is better than the attempts of Second Evolution. SE sorta made Rena look a lot less cute than EX.

Second Evolution follows the story of Roddick's son Claude. Roddick is a very minor character, but he has enough scenes to make his presence known, and Claude's issues with living up to the family name are a sizable plot point.

roddick's son they said it was the son of ilia and the black haired guy that came from earth with her.(i found this out after i wrote the comment)plus if it was his son why would claude be human when roddick isent?

They did actually... It's called Star Ocean EX, but the problem IMO it's horrible

I like the art in the anime though. But they totally ruin some (or maybe most) of the characters. They make a total joke out of Ashton in the anime.
