  • What do i do when i touch the tungsten too the metal? Is their a proper way to remove it.

  • @BrettEnjoysRockBand Grind it back to a point with a pedestal grinder

  • lol i bet that welding machine sucks, should be kemppi mastertig...

  • i personally hate that torch it's damn heavy to hold .

  • i do not like that Tig welding torch i love my wireless foot paddle the best .

  • This is a common application for a TIG welder. The wall thickness of the tube/pipe dictates the weld amperage requirements need. Both the inverter based Maxstar® 150 and 200 TIG machines are commonly used for this application. Personally, I would opt for the Maxstar® 200 based solely on the inclusion of and adjustability of the pulser feature in that machine. ... (more sent directly to the emails provided)

  • Hi. Can you please guide me that which welding is use full for SS316L pipe . TIG or MiG.. We wana welding pipe for water treatments plants Pressure Rate will be 40bar max. I have Miller welding machine Gold .

Please send the answer kashifagw@urckw.com or ghazwa.kashif@gmail.com.

    thanks

  • @faizuq8 Use mig

  • which is the space between plate and tungsten in inches

  • don't forget to purge when you weld stainless

  • great video really helpfull!

  • best to just buy a Multiplaz 3500. does everything a tig will and more for less than 1/2 the price and cheaper to run. no aweful fumes to breath either.

  • This reminds me of oxy welding haha.

  • @pwkid Thats how a lot of teachers start students off to learn tig

  • @LeMieux250 thats what our teacher does. we go from: Oxy-acet>Arc>Mig>Tig

  • @ImaBiSceneModelGTFO yeah that seems like the standard. A good idea though. Tungstens and tig gear is expensive. Better off ruining the oxy-fuel gear rather than the tig :P

  • cool helmet !

  • Use a stick welder

  • so im really interested in tig welding but ive never welded before.. i would like to get a welder that doesnt require gas cuz its sooo dam expensive to recharge it. what should i do ?

  • @1994toyotasupra go with stick welding, no gas just buy rods they come with a coating, that melts into a gas, they are pretty cheap

  • @mortarlover123 Purchase a Propane Torch and weld sheetmetal with coathangers

  • @1994toyotasupra you wont be able to do tig welding without gas, hence the name Tungsten Inert "Gas". unfortunatly it is pricey to recharge the tanks, on top of that if you dont have much experience , i would try stick or SMAW welding its one of the most cheapest, basic forms of welding, harbor freight sells a 180.00 stick welder inverter, and all you have to do is buy electrodes " the stick you weld with" and thats it no gasses or anything.

  • @mortarlover123 thanks for the info, yeah i figure arc would be a decent beginner welder to start off with...but with arc welders can i weld like manifold for cars ? im not sure if there are a specific choice for welding manifold . also, ive actually heard lots of negative things about harbor freight is not worth the money.. people on forums say spend atleast 3 to 400 or your not gonna have a good penatrating weld.. ive heard also some car chargers can arc weld. i have a 100 amp charger.

  • @1994toyotasupra the harbor freight is a decent welder, people saying it does not penetrate deep are talking about thick gauge steel, your talking about manifolds not building frames, this welder will do plenty and if you plan on getting into heavy gauge welding, go ahead and get the lincoln electric 225 welder ... that welder is a beast but for like tacking and non heavy bearing parts itll be fine, the small electrode diameter that you would use on the Harbor freight , will be perfect

  • @mortarlover123 ahh ok, ill look at some right now... thanks again for the info.

  • this techniche does not work on titanium if you try to weld trhu

  • cptrex1 It is strong enough, but the question should be: "Is it the right process?". How thick is the material you're welding? In the time you would take to TIG weld thick material, you could have done it with an alternate process (like MIG, Flux cored wire or even stick).

  • is TIG Welding Strong enough to be used as a joining method of welding up a frame for a heavy duty storage compartment for heavy machinery?

  • Feel free to let us know what other information you are looking to learn more about.

  • Very good teaching effort, John.

  • Good video, always nice to hear the basics again when you have just started out like me!

    Thanks.

  • Thanks for posting!

  • John is awesome, a great Miller asset and enjoy talking to him at SEMA and other shows.
