  • perfect

  • this is amazing. U2 is my all time favorite band and this gives it perfect justice. Love The Killers.

  • Is it just me or does he sound a lot like Bono?

I swear the first few times I listened to this cover I wasn't sure if is was U2 or The Killers...

  • .-Even better than the real thing...

  • Mark's bass is out of this world, brilliant.

  • not found in Spotify.......FUCK SPOTIFY!!

  • SORRY for being such a troll here, but I have to post it: “We couldn’t make this a pop song, but they have,” he says, about the Killers’ giant version of Ultraviolet (Light My Way). “We need him on the radio,” Bono says about Brandon Flowers. “His voice!” (theglobeandmail . com)

  • i like the killers... i love U2. But this album should never have happened... this cover doesnt even touch how amazing this song got in the 360 tour.

  • wow this is amazing. i really hope that the new album sounds like this!! i mean they did say there would be more guitars, so maybe it will :)

  • "Won't you buy a leg"

  • This cover is way better than the original song

  • I'm a huge fan u2 and I like very much orginal version and I think this cover is amazing. Both songs are beautiful, sounds different and that make it more beautiful.

  • love the cover but flowers just doesn't have the range that bono does. But still a fantastic cover. really difficult to cover U2, Bono and edge are just so distinctive and unique. Still one of the best covers of U2.

  • @TheFly212

Edge really have a distinctive guitar style and the Killers guitar does not sound as dynamic as the original. However, bass and battery in my humble opinion sound better than the original. Vocals, I like both styles.

  • perfection!

  • Just 266,949 views? Come on! Those are just mine!

  • beautiful..:)!

  • I respect U2 completely and this has always been my favorite song on what I believe to be their best album but man, Brandon Flowers voice does this perfect justice. Not to mention the lyrical content and style of the song fit that of the Killers wonderfully. Props to Bono for writing such an incredible song but props to Brandon and the Killers for perfecting it. If this is any indicator of the type of music the Killers have coming, I am most excited.

  • @1192lostthegame can't agree more! :) x

  • @1192lostthegame Bono didn't write Ultraviolet, U2 did. Bono wrote the lyrics.I agree Bandon sings this really well, but the magic feel of U2, wich comes from Larry Mullen, Edge and Adam Clayton, is just not there. That special thing, especially when they play it live, I think the Killers couldn't catch it. Wich is completly normal;but it's a great great cover.

I just don't agree that the Killers perfected it. because for me the perfection of this song is U2 playing it live.

  • @1192lostthegame He didn't fucking perfect anyway. Nothing will ever trump the original. This is coming from a fan of both The Killers, and U2.

  • This is not bad, I like it,,but Bono's version had more emotions and spark in it. Louder is not necessarily better. Just my opinion.

  • Of all the songs covered The KILLERS have done the best job!

Brandon's voice sounds is fantastic, has done U2 proud!

  • Nothing will replace the original for me but this is a GREAT cover, and I mean really great, moving, unless a lot of nowadays music.

    Heart opening.

  • THE COVER REALLY MUCH BETTER !!

  • The song takes all the spirit out of the original. It is just a guy talking into a mic

  • @hheerth I think the opposite

  • best song on Achtung Baby

  • Good cover but sadly not as good as originally

  • fuck Bono lol.Brandon`s voice is amazing

  • doesn't beat the original I'm afraid :)

  • <3 Brandon Flowers

  • Comment removed

  • Excelente versión pero nada lo de U2 es impecable, casi casi perfección pura!

  • can u imagine seeing this live? especially 2:45-3:20, i can see brandon so into the song, then id probably be crying of happiness. such a good song. god bless the killers.

  • Love the Killers, and just U2's minded forever. This version sounds good, in exact Killers' style. Notwithstanding the fact that The Edge is not there with his magic riff guitar which gives "ultraviolet" what's exactly the song is about... multilevels of achievement. Each instrument becomes just fundamental. Bono's voice is just beauty, transmit pain, anger, quest for sth and more to be said... still we can talk about a very nice cover, but never can reach the BEAUTY of the original!

  • מדהים(:

  • @SayMyName4

איזה כיף לשוטט ביוטיוב ופתאום למצוא ישראלי !!! :)

  • @rache94rock

יש עוד הרבה ישראלים כאן, בטח מגיבים באנגלית(:

  • hell i haven't knew the name of the song or what band is playing that song. i just heard it on the radio... i was searching for it like 2 hours LOL love this song!

  • Tbh i didn't think that this would stand up to be counted as a song but truthfully I believe it surpasses the original.

  • I am a big U2 fan, if Bono sang it the way he sang "With or Without You", yes by all means AWESOME, but I'm afraid The Killers did it and I love their version.

  • this is wat the song would have sounded like when U2 recorded this in 1983 with a much younger Bono

  • I really like the album art

  • only the The Killers fan will say that this version is better than the original version :)

the reason why the original version was more powerful than this version bec. it was written and composed during the Gulf war era.. the hard times you know.. you just can't beat the real emotion of the original version..

  • like if your listening to this in 2012

  • The starting is abit odd

  • u2's song is better!!

  • great cover.. but if you think this is better than the original version? you're wrong..

I shed tears everytime I listen to the original version..

  • @depechebox well I always shed tears when I listen to this version :)

  • I CANT Wait for the killers New Music in 2012, Its Always Epic

  • OMG!! They rape the original U2 version....

  • this good, but no match for U2

  • so does this mean the hiatus is over?

  • great cover, perhaps better than the original ...............

  • @1978hinault The Killers transform a very European Berlin-minded song into a shitty US radio song, and you call this version better?

  • MUY BUEN TEMA :D

  • the killers always have the best covers

  • the killers make my favourite covers

  • The Killers "Ultra Violet (Light My Way)" is featured on Indie/Rock Playlist: December (2011)

    Download here: theindierockplaylistdotcom

  • the killers are the best hand in the world. the feelings they give me top out any other bands

  • I loooove this cover brandon's voice is just amazing, they did an excellent job...I love both the killers and U2 but actually this version is more catchy somehow, just can't get enough

  • Something Sam's Town about this cover - I hope they sample the magic here on their new album. It's guttural and passionately noisy. I like that.

  • Ha love it

  • I have checked out this CD on iTunes a few times.. This is the only cover I want...

Any idea how I can get it.. LEGALLY

  • @maddogwally buy it

  • Original is better. This version stripped out the melodic parts and left a somewhat monotone acapella/percussion hybrid which is just okay. I'll give them a pass for trying. Meh.

  • @liickyourelbows I couldn t agree more!!

  • Everyone needs to lay off The Killers, both versions of this song are very different but you can tell that each band puts huge amounts of work into every song they do, and I love both versions. The Killers obviously have the respect of U2, Bono has had Flowers on stage with him, and the Killers contribute a Christmas song each year to Bono's Product Red campaign. Lets stop discussing who is better between these two amazing bands and just enjoy the music!

  • amazing song

  • Next year new Killers Album YEAH

  • פה בגלל גלגל"צ.... [:

  • Magnificent!

  • חידוש מעולההההה

  • I want this song in the next album.

  • Great cover of a great song. Good job, you Vegas lads!

  • Sheesh, Brandon's voice. It's gorgeous! I love U2, but the cover sounds much better. Brandon has his way with it that makes it much more powerful.

  • @247nana I have to say, for me; when i look at U2 version and this cover- U2 version have a lot more energy and powet than this cover. Ofcourse this version of the amazing song is also good, but for me not as good as original.

  • @247nana this is such a pretty decent cover version I agree with you and the Killers is always right on but when you said this is much better than the original, most of us purist U2 fans since the 80's will disagree indeed.... a cover is just a cover no matter how good it is.... Achtung Baby is a 20 year old definitive classic album, let's pass it on to the next generation of fans!!! Cheers!!! : )

  • @247nana You kidding?

  • oh fuck leave it alone Killers. nice try . but no dice.

  • i was expecting better from the killers..i'm a fan.?. The u2 classic should be covered better than this.. sorry.

  • What I like about this song is despite the fact I've never heard the U2 version, I can instantly tell it's U2 and not a Killers song. I think that's a testament to The Killers ability to cover a song and not lose the essence of the original (as happens too often when artists try to make songs "their own"). It's also a testament to U2 that they have such a distinct sound that can't be masked by a cover. Basically this is great.

  • As a big fan of U2 I was sceptic when I was listening to whole CD for the first time. And I was right - most of songs are completely bad, out of energy, they are just soft ballads (Mysterious Way by Snow Patrol completely bad, wrong, inappropriate. And Nine Inch Nails should be punished for their version of Zoo Station, because what they've done is a crime). And Ultraviolet is the only song that sounds really good among other cover.

  • What a great cover :')

  • Brandon's voice just makes all the worries of life go away :3

  • @hollyclaricoates that´s sooo true!!!

  • wwwgreatbuyoutletscom wwwtopfuelsavercom

  • Killers = Great band

    This cover = BAD IDEA!!!!

  • FUCKING LAME. This lacks all of the feeling the original had. Pointless. Why bother?

  • @twochordcool It's pointless to play it if you're not making your own version of it. The Killers did their own version of it with a fabulous result (in my opinion). I get that many people are missing the classic Edge riff in the beginning, but whatever. This proves that Brandon is a better singer than Bono. End of story.

  • @citruuus You're obviously batshit crazy and need to be put in a straight jacket and rubber room if you think ANY part of this song is better than ANY part of the original. This song COMPLETELY lacks the emotion felt in the original. This song is just nonchalant douchebaggery on the part of Brandon Flowers, whilst Bono sang his heart, soul and guts out on the original. To say there is any kind of contest here is just laughable and outrageous. But you go on living in denial and another universe.

  • @twochordcool I wonder if you have ever realised that you are just ONE opinion among millions around the world.

You don't like this cover or the Killers? Good!, so what? Does it matter at all? Don't make a fool of yourself assuming to be the Voice of Truth!

  • Profanazione.

  • if you love the killers with all your heart and soul then light my way with a like

  • good to know the wrolds greatest band are abck

  • wow

  • Nice Cover ... LOVE U2 an The Killers :)

  • @MrFleitas268 Can't love U2 if you love the Killers also. One is great the other sucks. Guess which one?

  • Amazing cover

It renews the song and almost sends off a different message than the original.

  • Great cover!

  • I like the cover, it's typically The Killers, it sounds good.

But the band totally failled to capture the obscurity of the painful feeling that the original transmits: the way The Killers did this cover (specially the end) gives some sort of positive feeling... Which the song is not.

  • jack white's cover is the best on the album, but this is a close second

  • Original is masterpiece but this is very, very good cover

  • Not a huge Killers fan, but this is by far the best cover on the album! They did great! (LOVE U2 too!)

  • This is such a powerful song, the writing is all BONO, and he can hit the higher notes but Brandon is absolutely BRILLIANT! Gotta get this CD ~~

  • The original sounds like a cover of this

  • @MyNameIsJonno I was thinking the exact same thing haha hell yeah!

  • Brandon's voice breaks my heart.. such a damn beautiful voice!

  • why is everyone comparing them to U2? Both bands are awesome and they're even friends. They have both been known to inspire each other (yes U2 has been inspired by The Killers even though they've been around longer). Please just enjoy the cover.

To people who are saying that because they arent as known they aren't as good. Thats totally wrong. Who is popular now? Lady Gaga.So she's incredible then? Not at all.The Killers were amazing when they were playing for free in LV and they still are now.

  • anyone who doesn't like the killers and get the hell out of here because they're incredible and there's nothing else to it.

  • I love U2...but I think that killers did outperform them here

  • @SkipperGeffen not a chance the the original is impossible to outperform and 20 years old. No one compares to Bonos voice 20 years ago and U2 wrote the song. This is an awesome cover but its not better than the original not even close its too good of a song. If u2 recovered this song today it would sound new like this which is what this cover sounds like. Its awesome though my favorite from the Q album

  • The Killers w/ Flowers should soon be the new U2/Bono. It all hinges on this album they are recording right now. It will go straight to # 1 in UK & Ireland. Question (unfortunately, with all the Lady Gaga & LMAO fans) is how it will do in the U.S. American music rock interest has gone to the pits.

  • Who was the Killers' hater that put my comment to spam? Screw, I'm putting it again..

  • blows my mind

  • Anyone who thinks The Killers died with Day & Age is just flat out wrong. The album sold millions of copies worldwide, the Day & Age Tour was their biggest and highest grossing tour yet...and Human sold a million downloads in the US alone. Also, they headlined Lollapalooza and Coachella for the first time, along with countless other festivals...

If you don't like The Killers, that's cool, but your opinion isn't fact.

  • @KingLizard707 because it was mainstream

  • @KingLizard707 Have they died? No, but they've gotten progressively worse since Hot Fuss, a fantastic album.

  • @KingLizard707 i don't disagree with you.. but using the number of sold albums and stuff is a stupid thing to do. That proves nothing. Justin bieber (yes, he's mentioned here) sold who knows how many millions, and he fucking sucks

  • @Molkomuse Yeah man, I agree with you...my comment was originally a reply to some dude who was saying The Killers were "dead". The argument was never about quality...I was just arguing that they still have lots of fans, and that lots of people still care about them (quality is definitely independent from sales numbers)

  • @KingLizard707 Day and Age DOMINATES. Could possibly be their best album.

  • @KingLizard707 I guess what most people try to say is that the Killers died on an artistic level, even if they got bigger on a commercial level.

  • @KingLizard707 amen

  • And for a band that supposedly died in '97, they seem to be selling out shows. In Moncton, New Brunswick (six hour drive from my house... amazing concert btw) about 60,000 people showed up.

This is a small province. I don't fucking think so.

  • I respect this cover, and think it's a great attempt.... But I do love the original like there is no tomorrow.

  • Miss you killers

  • This sounds more like a tribute, than a cover. Except for some parts, it sounds very similar to the original...

  • Certainly respect this cover, do love the original better because of the instrumentation, Brandons vocals are amazing, i would dare say on par with bono for this one

  • Comment removed

  • Shit.

  • this is an amazing cover. welcome back TK

  • I gave the 1000th "like". Pointless, I know :)

  • incredible song, beautiful and moving.it's stood the test of time and this is a fine cover.

  • This is wayyyy better than U2. I love this song anyway but The Killers made me love it even more, and now this is the only version i listen to. Brandons voice > Bono's voice. sorry U2 fans lool <3

  • @Sammie1994 Look at your birthday....of course someone like you would make an ignorant comment like that.

  • @robhartjr1993 so someone who is a year younger than you can't have an opinion??? also, 100 people (top comment) like this too. never said i didnt like u2, just prefer brandon's voice.

  • @Sammie1994 Uh who said I didnt like this? And yes a year younger...but still younger and obviously stupid and immature. I said you're igorant because you choose this over the original. I like this alot, but to say its better than u2? Just remember that no one will ever release a "Hot Fuss' cover album. The killers career died with 'Day and Age'. This cover song is the highlight of their career, and they still arent half as good as U2's first album. :) Sammie is a name for ignorance.

  • @robhartjr1993 You may not remember but everyone had said U2 died in 1997 with "Pop" and then comes "All That You Can't Leave Behind" and "How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb".

Please don't compare "Hot Fuss" with "Achtung Baby", compare it with "Boy" which was their first album as well as "Hot Fuss". BOY wasn't a success in 1980 as Hot Fuss was in 2004, think about it. And give it time.

  • @patcristina LOL Uh they died in 1997? After so much successs? Then did what no other band has done by winning the record of the year at the grammies two years in a row with two songs from the same album. Yeah. Don't try to type at me like you're teaching me something you emo looking skank. I could care less what all you diehard killers fans think. They are a secondary band. oh then u2 wins every grammy lord of the rings 3 style including album of the year with atomic bomb. Killers < u2

  • @patcristina And everyone said that? Pop was a great album. it was just mediocre for u2. and hot fuss only became a success because its easy with the internet nowadays. If it was released in the 80s they would just be 'some band'. Don't talk about hot fuss like its groundbreaking. we all know its just a 'the cure' and 'joy division' ripoff. Its catchy, but Killers will never get the recognition of u2. They are like blink 182, great, but forgettable. u2 already made history.

  • @patcristina AND you slut. :) yes im being immature because i know you cant do anything over the internet but argue your invalid arguments. REMEMBER who The Killers are covering. Remember the album which isnt even their best. If u2 died then how come their last album got 5 stars on rolling stone AND reached number one? Something the Killers will never do. Day and Age was a sucky album. If Hot Fuss is the best the killers can do, then thats proof they will never break new ground.

  • @patcristina I know you're still reading these arent you? If you reply its proof. All the killers do is emulate other artists. Unoriginal. I like them but they arent a big band worth anything more anymore. Whos the guitar for killers? no one knows or cares. Everyone knows the edge. He created a sound. People know the name Brendan Flowers....but only vaguely. EVERYONE knows bono. Thats also why brendans solo sucked ass. Think about all this now. Dont hurt your brain. Im gone now :)

  • @robhartjr1993 Hallo, Truth of the Universe, don’t worry, one day you’ll grow up! Hopefully no one is self-indulgent for ever.

  • @robhartjr1993 @robhartjr1993 DID I SAY U2 DIED WITH POP? They'd released three great albums after that to prove they're not. That was the time people had said the band were tottaly out of the way and I say that because you said Killers died with D&A, maybe you're right, maybe not. In twenty years we will now which were the good ones and the bad ones, they're still on their fourth album, you comparing Bono and Brandon like they have the same age and the same time of career..

  • @robhartjr1993 I'm not trying to compare them with U2 like you, but was just because of Joshua Tree they became what they are today (4° album too), unlike you I love both bands, I grew up listening U2. And I didn't say anything about the cover, not even that was better than the original. It's even ridiculous compare both bands the way you're doing, they're like 35 years old and K's are not even 10 yet. I sure you want Killers to fail but that's not depends of you and your great taste to music.

  • @Sammie1994 you're an idiot. go watch old U2 "Zoo TV Tour" and come back and say that. His voice during U2's prime was unmatched by anyone.

Bono & U2 in the 90's prime > The Killers at any point now or in the future, period.

  • @volrathdesign

Oh gosh, the Truth of the Universe reincarnated… Sparse ideas, big ego, deep immatureness…
