Barry Williams in "Growing Up Brady" explains how all "rooms" on the main "floor," the backyard and garage of the Brady House was laid out exactly as it appeared on the show, whereas the other areas - kids' rooms, attic, etc. - were in other parts of the sound stage.
Ahhh, so this explains Tiger's absence. For what it's worth, though, I'm sure the bad guys were very fond of him until they somehow discovered his dog collar was bugged.
I wonder when this episode aired. Mission Impossible aired from '66 to '73.
The Brady Bunch aired from '69 to '74.
Either the set was built for something else and then used for the Brady house, or they used this set while the Brady Bunch was still in production! Either way, this is golden!
@Aeolis7 I just read that this episode aired in 1972. There's more info on it but I can't attach the link here for w/e reason, so just google "brady bunch blog mission impossible" and you'll find it.
@Mokkari77 Word! For starters, I was kinda hoping Alice would walk out from the kitchen saying, "DINNER'S REA—[realizes the two bodies lying on the floor]—dy... Whew! Oh good; I was afraid I didn't make enough meatloaf." [cue canned laughter]
An early episode of HAPPY DAYS used the BRADY BUNCH set for several scenes. It was the one where Richie went on a blind date with a girl who was taller than he was. The girls' bedroom became the living room of the house where Richie got here. They went to a party at Ralph Malph's house---while the young folk gathered in the basement rumpus room, aka.Mike and Carol's bedroom, Howard, Marion played bridge with Mr. & Mrs. Malph in Mike's den...I mean the living room.
Does anyone remember an anti-smoking short film starring Tom Bosley and Marion Ross as a married couple (NOT the Cunninghams) where Tom is trying to quit smoking? It was shown to students in the 70's/80's. The strangest thing about it was it was shot on The Brady Bunch set.
So this is what went on in the house while the Brady's were at the Grand Canyon...You would think that they would have screened their house sitters a little better!
What happened to the stairs? How are they supposed to get to the second story to their rooms?!!! Cindy might cry if she can't get to her Kitty Karry-All doll!!!
Wrong aspect ratio sucks ass, but you can correct it even after uploading your video: watch?v=MFPcAIM8fB0
For those, who don't know, what I am talking about, and ESPECIALLY for those, who don't see anything wrong with the picture, just google for "Are Some People Just Visually Dull?"
:-) I can't remember, how the video was before, but if I did complain about wrong aspect ratio, that means, that it was screwed up alright. Now, I am happy to see a perfect, unstretched picture. Thank you for caring about correct AR! If only more people were like you...
It does, indeed. However, some time ago, the actual 4:3 picture was stretched to widescreen. Patjparks (the uploader) corrected it. Thanks for being aware of correct aspect ratio, though! Most people don't give a shit about currectly shaped picture or can't even recognize wrong AR.
LOL This whole clip is just full of funny. Brady Bunch house.. "I'm nobody's BOY mannn".. "well Shanks, your parties seem to be getting wilder and wilder."
Sorry if someone pointed this out - Wikipedia says this is from Mission Impossible episode "Double Dead" (during the BB's 3rd season) - the furniture (couches, tv, etc.) is the Brady Bunch's - they just took away the stairwell and stuck a few plants and stuff in to disguise it.
MI had unbelievably bad production values - even by the standards of the day. They used every square inch of the Paramount lot and didn't try very hard to hide it.
Are you nuts!?! Mission Impossible was the most expensive show on television! The reason they had "bad production values" is that all the studios had money problems. They were all selling off backlot land to stay afloat. Nobody had any money. Everbody did this. The Batcave was used in "Our Man Flint". There are loads of other examples. This was before VHS, DVD, Blueray, Cable and other similar revenue streams put the studios back in business.
This is great! MI and Brady Bunch were filmed during the same time weren't they? and they used the same soundstage on this day I guess. What a riot.....love it!
What year was this episode? Was it taped during or after the Brady Bunch series? I wonder if it ever occurred to the person or persons, who made the decision to tape this episode in that house, that thousands of people would recognize it as the Brady house.

I guess the staircase was on rollers!

They also used the set in an episode of "Mannix." The episode is titled "One For The Lady" and it aired 9/26/70.

Plus, the Brady set--outdoor and indoor--showed up in two separate episodes of MANNIX (the shows shared more than Robert Reed).
