I think this video and its allegations are very Japan specific, probably describing some kind of feud within Japan. SGI in countries like UK are very helpful and it functions as a sangha to assist your mental and spiritual development.
The format of this video is in itself disturbing. I am disturbed at myself for watching the whole thing. Soka Gakkai is composed of human beings and therefore has all the qualities of humanity. It is the only thing on the planet that puts the happiness of the individual first. Besides my own personal experiences with SGI, I have seen countless examples of people who used the teachings of Nichiren Daishonin and the encouragement of Ikeda to make significant breakthroughs in their lives,
So yea all you do is just saying no solid prove. Even we are not Gakkai members we will not be so ignorant like you. But sad to say to you, we as a Gakkai member, our faith will not be shaken by person who disrupts the harmony of our organization. So have you try chant how can you prove that it's false? As what others said we contribute money by our own will. You one side story doesn't work, if it's a good organization all can be prove in time. Becos you are not sure tht is why you ASSUME.
SGI doesn't extort money from its members; members contribute out of their own goodwill and gratitude for the organization. Furthermore, how can one ever buy so many honorary doctorates as widely claimed by many? Even if you have got the money, many of the well known universities still wouldn't sell you one, which by doing so will cause them to lose repute. Then, how on earth did Daisaku Ikeda get over 300? It's through his work for peace. He doesn't have to advertise to the world what he does.
this is the most egotisical thing ever! jealousy is a very bad place to reside in, Ikeda has proved with his life that you can become absolutely happy no matter who tries to persecute you. I have been a proud member of SGI since 2004 my mum and dad now practice and whats amazing they see actual proof in my life, and i absolutely see it in their lives.We cant all be wrong! Its the first time that I have felt an equal and have the self belief that I can change my karma in this lifetime.

I joined SGI & started chanting Nam-myoho-renge-kyo 36 years ago. I was suicidal, begging to die constantly. I was doing all kinds of drugs, including heroine. No one in SGI judged me; they only showed me support, compassion & encouragement. No one has ever pressured me for money during these 36 years. I do contribute financially at times out of my deep gratitude for all SGI and this practice has done for me. Ive had phenomenal benefits, including helping my Mom overcome extensive bone cancer.
@Eddiemango1 Thank you. This comment illustrates perfectly the difference in attitude between most of the SGI members(or supportive people) and most of those attacking SGI. I too, today, was immersed in an amazingly supportive, encouraging and NON judgemental, non-pressuring meeting in which I witnessed the deep compassion of those SGI members around me to help me become the best person I can be, while totally retaining my own identity and character. I really hope this pathetic bickering stops.
I myself have proofssss to be proud of SOKA GAKKAI and chanting Nam-myoho-renge-kyo and the direct teaching of Nichiren Buddhism.
